Chapter 37: Scorching Flames of The Ancient Creature
The red cloud soon began to grow and soon matched the height of the walls, it looked like it stopped there but it soon surpassed its height. The temperature began to rise up from the heat of the smoke cloud that went bright red every time it grows, the ground began to form into a mush as the heat made it soft and looked like it was about to melt.
"Welcome back, Nemesis" Arthas said so with a wide smile greeting his old friend that he has been through life and death situations. 'Though it was only once, it counts.' He thought.
In response to Arthas, Nemesis made an ear-deafening roar that has an overwhelming and thunderous sound that engulfs the senses, leaving whatever peace there may be shattered by the sound of chaos. It garnered attention with its indomitable sound, which encompassed even the smallest of sounds.
Flames began to spew out from the smoke that was aimed high by Nemesis. The smoke began to slowly dissipate revealing his large body covered with heat-searing scales that seemed to glow brightly from the fire that continued to burn inside. The scales were more elaborate and conceded peace and danger, it was like the essence of pure chaos.
'Oh right, I never really got to see Nemesis after the fight with the Amirites, I didn't expect him to go so suddenly though, Guess I should greet the guy.'
Whatever was left of the red smoke a giant reptilian head peeked out and was directly in front of Arthas, it was enormous that even just its tooth was more than the size of Arthas. Its eyes glowed with a color of that of fire, with a laid back burning kind-of-frill on its head he looked amazing. The flame covered the entire topside of his face, while his eyes glowed with intensity.
"Hello Nemesis, It's been a while huh"
"Raarrrorooroo" Nemesis replied in a kind of gibberish fashion.
But Arthas clearly understood what he meant due to their connection as a summon and summoner.
"Oh, come on it's just a day since you were gone, and besides I didn't expect you to implode like that, but hey Congratulations on evolving"
"Raaaarraaaaa" Nemesis happily replied as his eyes and mouth all curved into what looked like a smile.
"Huh, What do you mean I got smaller? You're the one that got bigger, I don't evolve the way you do alright. Besides I kinda have a responsibility right now"
"RARARARARARARARARA" Nemesis laughed very hard and began to swing his huge tail in a horizontally scary motion.
"Anyways, it's good to have you back bud. Also, we have another one joining the squad"
"??....Raorarora? (What happened while I was gone?)"
"Nothing much, just a bit of an issue but it was all solved now thanks to my valiant effort"
"Rayt…"
They both laughed at this friendly conversation that they haven't been able to do ever since, Nemesis evolved and was on cooldown. Unknowingly to them, the battlefield descended onto a silent stalemate once more, even Morpheus who was killing the lizards indiscriminately stopped and looked at them with a soft curved smile.
Besides Arthas, there were people who were too shocked to speak, their eyes widened from the scene that they just witnessed. Moltar, Alicia, Frederick, and the soldiers outside stopped in their movements. They were mesmerized by what they saw and what came out of that little show. They looked at Arthas and the large creature that they don't know with fear and interest.
"Oh yeah, Alicia! Do you see that? That's cool, right? So how about you summon yours? Let me see"
"W-What are you talking about? Are you crazy? Who are you? Why in the name of the Moon do you have 2 City Catastrophe summons and an adult one at that?!"
"Woah there, calm down the situation looked grim alright and I thought that everyone would need everything to do something about it."
"Haha…yeah" Alicia's eyes were dead as she was not ready to fully accept what was happening.
Nemesis looked towards Alicia and back to Arthas, his gaze kept alternating between the two with every oscillating squinting of his eyes. Arthas noticed this weird behavior and asked him.
"What? Is there something wrong?"
"Raroraoroaro? (How long was I gone for you to have a Mate?)" Nemesis asked with a serious face.
Arthas was struck by his words, it was so unexpected that Arthas choked on his own saliva, he coughed really hard trying to get back his senses and compose himself. Arthas didn't really look like he could handle romance so he avoided it during school, he didn't have one during his years on Earth, and would definitely not have one here now.
"No, no, no, you seem to be misunderstanding something, we are all friends here, no malicious intent or anything, just platonic alright?"
"Roa roa roa roa (Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes)" Nemesis didn't take it seriously and replied in a sarcastic tone.
"Oh yeah Introductions, that guy over there is Morpheus go help him, also do be careful where you step, just lizards and spiders alright."
Nemesis approached Morpheus who was fighting thousands of Lizards, all of them gave up on running away and was trying to kill the beast instead, they were practically hopeless. Climbing towards the side of Morpheus one tried to stab him in the eye but with a whip of his head flew far away. There was a swarm of LIzards on his foot stabbing with their swords and spears but to no avail, it wasn't able to penetrate or even wound the monster.
Their weapons weren't dull or anything they were just outmatched when it comes to defense, nevertheless they tried their best to kill the beast. Morpheus was annoyed by their futile efforts and was just casually killing everyone. His large body of his allowed wide spots to open for a target but that gave him an advantage by squishing everyone with his large foot, his gigantic tail that breaks the barrier of the wind as it whipped through tearing down every soldier that comes in his way.
Nemesis saw a bloodbath as he casually approached the new guy, while also carelessly stomping on the lizards that came into his way.
'They all look like ants from above, very cute' This was what he thought when he saw them from this height. 'Guess I should make this quick.'
The large body of Nemesis, who acquired new colors and scales that look impenetrable began to glow in a somber red light, with every second enhancing the hue of the colors that turned bright. His tail stood firm to keep a balance between his body, and although his feet were getting poked by swords and spears it was practically nothing.
The fire that was burning on his head intensified as the flames burned brighter with every second of the way and made all its way back to his large body, within a second of this, everything happened so fast. It was terrifying.
A beam of red flames began to release from the mouth of the giant creature, Nemesis. The flames burned bright and incinerate everything in its path. The flames burned through darkness and brought death with every second it was released from the jaws of hell. Plains of blood and an environment that was full of life soon burned down from the atrocity of the flames that descended upon the land.
The volley of deathly flames marked the inception of something terrifying, the creatures that once ruled shall rule once more. It was a sign of the beginning.
After some time the beam of flames went through the ground. It showed the merciless aftermath of dread and chaos. The searing flames made the ground burn with an auspicious red glow, melted from the intense heat that came in contact. There are no bones or bodies left from where the flames descended. The intense heat made the air waver in its presence.
The devastating result. Annihilated.
Nemesis felt surprised by his power and all the abilities that came with it. It was the first time using it but it felt natural to do it, like something that was engraved in your mind that you have once forgotten. As he stepped on the molten ground, he felt nothing but warmth and comfort. For him, the environment that he made is comfortable and soothing to his heart.
But to others who have witnessed the scene of incineration and destruction, it was hell, the flames of this creature managed to burn every single thing that came in contact with, not even the ground was safe from its demise as it melted by the fire. No bones nor bodies were left alive that were near the flames.
It was truly a disaster, a memory scarred to those that have witnessed this horrifying event.
