Chapter 32: CHAPTER 31: EXPECTING THE UNEXPECTED

EXPECTING THE UNEXPECTED

"Achoo Achoo Choo"

Shivering, Richmond sniffed, using a white handkerchief to wipe his nose. Standing in front of the fireplace, receiving heat from the fire.

He doesn't know why he was feeling that way, Ever since he came back from the lake, his temperature has been high, very unusual for him. He wasn't able to regulate his body temperature, even his wolf was not spared from the chill.

"You came back yesterday, smelling like you took a dip in the lake. Who swims in the lake at night? Noah entered the living room, lightly scolding his son, "Do you have a cold?" He asked in concern.

He didn't tell his father what happened yesterday, he knew his father was going to lose himself with worry. But he was going to tell his father about his encounter with his mother when he came back later in the evening. Hopefully, he will feel a lot better than he does now.

"Yes, I do but I will survive, replied Richmond, his eyes widened before sneezing into the handkerchief. "I have asked Miss Michel to make coffee for me, it should be ready by now."

"Will you be able to go to work today, son?" Noah asked, dragging a chair with him, and setting it in front of the fireplace, behind Richmond, "Sit!" He motioned to Richmond with his hand.

Richmond laughed heartily, "If I don't go, my staff might become lazy and that means no work for the day," he said before coughing out.

When he saw Richmond blowing her nose into the handkerchief, he said, "What taking Michel so long to bring the damn coffee? It supposed to be ready by now or is she making coffee for the whole pack"

"I am so sorry sir," the maid said, walking towards the living room with an aluminum tray in her hands, wearing a uniform made especially for the staff in the mansion, and her red hair was packed in a bun on her head.

"The coffee machine blew up as I plugged it into the switch, I had to do it the manual way," dropping the tray on the center table.

"Thank you," Richmond said, taking the cup of coffee from Michel's outstretched arms.

He sipped the warm coffee, which tasted nothing less than ambrosia to him.

He drank it greedily as he felt the warmth spreading inside his body, He took the kettle containing the coffee, brought it to his mouth, and drank from the tip of the kettle, directly.

Noah raised his right eyebrow, his son was drinking from the hot kettle, gulping it down as if it was ordinary juice without even flinching from the hotness, "Are you sure you are okay, son? He asked, his face evident with worry.

Richmond smiled, "I feel better than before. I am fine, don't worry about me father," he turned to the housemaid, "Can you help me get my briefcase from the room, I dropped it on my bed."

The woman nodded her head fervently, she loved going for Mr. Richmond's errands, he had always been the type of person who hardly needed people. In the mansion, he doesn't order the servants around like other bosses, he doesn't shout or disturb them. He instead, ignores them like he doesn't want them close by, his face is always stoic, apart from when he is close to his father. That was why she was happy to fetch his briefcase, oddly, she felt proud of herself.

"Yes sir, consider it done," she hurriedly ran to the stairs to get the briefcase.

"Looking at the girl, you will know she has feelings for you," his father said while staring after the maid, observing.

"I am not going to fire her because she has a crush on me, it will eventually pass," Richmond said nonchalantly. There are several staffs especially the female staff, that have crushes on him, if he wanted to fire the staff that sometimes openly ogled at him, many of them would be sacked and out of work.

Noah chuckled, "No one is talking about firing anyone, I am just making an observation, she got something in her eyes that humans sometimes call lust."

"We are half-human, father. He corrected, "One day, the maid who finds her fated mate and she will forget her childish crush on me. I think that is the beauty of everything."

Just then, the maid arrived with his briefcase and handed it to Richmond, which he thanked her for.

He walked out of the mansion towards the garage, not without first, bidding his father goodbye.

The chosen car was already clean and ready for use, the driver was already standing close to the car, "Did you get the car I asked you to bring from the cemetery."

The driver nodded his head, "Yes sir, it is packed over there," he pointed to the corner, where the car was packed.

"Good job Jackson," he complimented, before entering the blue automatic car.

The driver's chest puffed out as his head swelled with pride, it wasn't every time, his boss dished out a a complimentHishis boss was stingy in giving out compliments.

He entered the car and started the engine, driving out from the mansion.

Almost close to the office building, Richmond started feeling sudden changes in his body. His head was turning as if there was an invisible wheel in his head, rolling and turning, nonstop.

His eyes were becoming heavy, he opened and closed them but the more he repeated the action, the more he felt more heavy.

His teeth were elongating in his mouth, they were as sharp as a polished knife. He felt a strange lust rising in his body, his body was craving for something but Richmond didn't know what his body wanted. He cleared his throat severally but the urges were not going away, in fact, they were increasing by the second.

His eyes mistakenly glanced at the front mirror, his eyes were red, his teeth were elongated, and long furs covered his entire face. His fingers were aching to tear into anything.

The driver was consumed with fear, even though he was also a wolf himself but he had never seen a werewolf's eyes turning red, he wasn't even the Alpha of their pack, he looked more like a dreadful beast, "Sir, are you alright?" He stammered, staring at Richmond from the front mirror.

The scent of fear permeated the air, Richmond found out, he loved the scent it was tempting, and he wanted to dig his claws into the driver.

As his claws were almost tearing into the driver's throat, he caught himself in time, "Jackson leave now before I get more out of control," his voice was hoarse and strained, he was struggling to keep his sanity.

Not wanting to be told again, whimpering in fear, the driver nodded his head, opened the car door, and ran away from the car.

The craving in him became worse, it wanted blood and flesh, to immerse himself in his victim's body.

Richmond was fighting the urge to go after Jackson, to run after him, to tear into him until he was limped in his hands.

That was what the thing in him demanded.....
