Chapter 20: Whatever, You Can Call Me Husband.
"Hey Tyson! Looks like your daughter found a good boyfriend!" A middle-aged man with a rich appearance and a big belly smiled at the person next to him.
This person is Johanna's father Tyson, the founder of the family group. He is one of the richest men in New Mountain City.
"Oh well... my daughter will eventually leave me someday." Tyson sighed. Although he looked reluctant, he was actually very happy because he had been worried about finding a boyfriend for his daughter.
She was already 20 years old and had never had a boyfriend or even mentioned any handsome or good-looking guys she liked. This made him anxious, so most of the purpose of this gathering was to help her find someone she likes.
If it were just based on looks alone, Tyson would be satisfied with Rosendo as his son-in-law. He also liked Rosendo's temperament but what he really wanted to know now was Rosendo's background.
On Johanna's side, she finally let go of Rosendo and turned her head to those suitors who hadn't left yet and said coquettishly: "See that? I kissed him so he is my boyfriend now and I am his girlfriend."
There wasn't much else they could say after seeing that so those around Johanna sensibly left. After all those suitors left, Johanna couldn't help but ask Rosendo angrily: "What did you mean earlier?"
"What...what do you mean?" Rosendo asked in confusion.
"You said kissing you costs $10k! Who do you think you are? You take advantage of me by kissing me then act like nothing happened -and dare ask for money from me?! Let me tell you something Rosendo- I kissed you but I won't give any money! What can ya do about it?" Johanna fumed.
"Okay, okay! I know the price I offered was a bit high. How about $5k?" Rosendo held up five fingers.
"Rosendo, I hate you!" Johanna was completely angry now. Actually, it wasn't really about the money but her dignity. She was the school flower of New Mountain University and even if her kiss wasn't worth much, it hadn't reached the point where she had to pay for it- especially not $10k which is several months' salary for an ordinary person.
Johanna left in anger and ran towards the villa's garden. Cheryl followed after seeing this because she couldn't understand why Johanna would leave Rosendo alone like that.
Rosendo watched as Johanna walked away muttering to himself: "Is $5k still too expensive? Why is this rich girl so stingy?"
Now that Johanna had left, Rosendo was all alone with no one he knew around him -even Willie who he just met earlier was talking to someone else.
Bored Rosendo decides to take a plate by himself and picks up anything that looks delicious until he can no longer fit any more food on his plate. He then finds a corner to sit down and slowly enjoys his meal.
Although Rosendo wanted some alone time while eating, others didn't agree since he had been in such limelight moments ago! When he kissed Johanna earlier everyone at the hotel villa saw them.
Many girls were fascinated by Rosendo's handsomeness; they had never seen such a handsome guy before- so handsome that beauty can be used to describe him!
As soon as Johanna left those girls who have been waiting eagerly for their chance started gathering around where Rosendo sat.
"Hey handsome, can you tell me - what's your name?" A glamorous girl sat next to Rosendo and asked him.
Without hesitation, Rosendo replied: "My name is Rosendo."
"Can I call you brother?" Another young girl came to Rosendo's side, who looked only eighteen or nineteen years old.
Rosendo rudely replied while eating, "Whatever, you can even call me husband." He thought to himself that since Johanna was not around and ignoring him, he didn't need to pretend to be a gentleman anymore.
"Husband," the young girl actually called him that.
"Ha! What did you just call me?" Rosendo sprayed out all the food he hadn't swallowed yet in surprise and asked the young girl who had just called him husband.
The young girl proactively hugged Rosendo's arm and said in a coquettish voice, "Yes! Didn't you ask me to call you that? Husband."
Johanna is currently harming a lawn, squatting on the ground and pulling up pitiful little plants by their roots without leaving any trace of them. She is extremely cruel!
"How dare you ask me for money, how dare you..." Johanna keeps repeating this sentence, and with each repetition, another small plant is pulled up from its roots.
"Johanna, so you came here. What happened? Why did you suddenly leave Rosendo and run out?" Cheryl finally found Johanna and asked curiously.
Johanna stood up angrily and turned around saying,"It's all because of that damn Rosendo! My suitors don't believe that he's my boyfriend so they forced us to kiss before they would believe it. I had no choice but to let him kiss me just so they would leave us alone. Do you know what he said after we kissed?"
"What did he say?"Cheryl curiously asked.
"He said that he could kiss you, but you have to give me another ten thousand. Can you believe it? It was my first kiss and I gave it away for cheap just so he could kiss me, and then he asked for more money.
There are countless men who want to kiss me, so how could he not have thought about taking advantage of me?" Johanna explained angrily.
Cheryl couldn't believe how greedy Rosendo was - not only did he take advantage of others but also demanded payment for doing so!
"But then why did you kiss him again? Did you agree to give him another ten thousand dollars?"Cheryl asked in disbelief.
"Hmph! I forced myself on him that time. Afterward, he even had the nerve to ask me for money again so I got angry and left. If he asks me for money one more time, we're done!"Johanna declared angrily.
"Forced kiss, wow-- Johanna, you've turned into a seductress. But if you're breaking off with him, he's not really your friend, is he?" Cheryl said.
"Cheryl, can't you say something comforting? I'm in this situation and you should be consoling me," Johanna said pitifully. However, Cheryl's words reminded her that she and Rosendo were not really friends because friends don't use each other for rent; they only help each other.
"Johanna, can I ask you a question?"Cheryl asked hesitantly.
"Sure thing. What is it?"Johanna replied indifferently.
"What did it feel like when you kissed Rosendo?"Cheryl blushed as she eagerly awaited an answer.
