Chapter 12

As Annabeth's gears turned in her head, I couldn't help but think, 'Maybe next time you should think more quietly or something. I could hear your heads running around.'

I just beated the living devil out of Percy's ass trying to bring out the same fierceness he showed when he fought the minotaur but my attempts failed.

'There's no need to prolong this fight,' decided, contemplating ending it by knocking Percy out. However, my tracks came to an abrupt halt as I sensed something familiar.

'This…'

The smell of sulfur, it was quite familiar.

Suddenly, a massive hound emerged from the forest, emitting a menacing growl. The sound of arrows being drawn by the campers filled the air immediately after the threat was identified.

The Centaur Chiron stepped forward and rang out in ancient Greek, "Stand ready! Bring me my bow!" But before Chiron could grab and shoot his arrow the hound lunged at me with ferocity, something I am quite used to when meeting monsters. They seemed to always like me, silly creatures, always wanting to give me a hug.

However, instead of accepting its sulfurous and hound-like affection, I countered with a roundhouse kick. Classic rejection.

To my surprise, the hound didn't stay down. Instead, it swiped its claws at Percy, who stood nearby, causing a deep gash on his chest.

'Oops! Shouldn't have kicked it that way'

The hound redirected its attention entirely to Percy, ready to attack once again. But before it could strike, a volley of arrows rained from the sky, striking the hound's neck and rendering it immobile.

Annabeth, barely getting to her feet, gasped, "Di immortales!"

"That's a hellhound from the fields of punishment... They're not supposed to be here," she explained.

"Somebody summoned it, someone from inside the camp," Chiron muttered, and as he said that, my gaze involuntarily fell upon Luke.

"It's Percy!"

"Percy summoned it!" Clarrisse erupted in a fit of rage after having her ass handed to her by Percy, I mean come on, girl, really? Sore loser much? What a pathetic display.

"Silence, child," Chiron shut her up. Nice one, Chiron.

My attention shifted to the hellhound, which vanished into nothingness as if melting into the shadows cast by the tree's branches.

'That's nifty.'

"You're wounded," Annabeth said to Percy. "Quick, get to the water."

"I'm okay," Percy insisted.

"No, you're not," Annabeth countered. "Chiron, watch this."

Without warning, Annabeth pushed Percy into the water. Percy was taken aback, but we were all surprised when the large gash on his chest started to heal. What was even more astonishing was the sudden appearance of a glowing trident symbol above his head.

"Your father..." Annabeth murmured.

"This is not really good..."

"It is determined." Chiron declared, and he, along with the other campers, kneeled with one knee.

"Poseidon," the horse-man said.

"Earthshaker, Stormbringer, Father of Horses, Hail! Perseus Jackson! Son of the Sea God!" They all bowed, even the Ares campers, though they didn't seem too pleased.

But as much as they like doing their little ceremony, it was abruptly interrupted by an earth-shaking screech.

Screeeech!

"Holy Styx..."

"Zeus's eagle," Chiron said, while I was on the sideline completely still and observing Chiron's expression of shock.

The eagle dove from the sky, penetrating the semi-transparent dome that protected the camp.

"Everyone, stay low. Keep your heads bowed." Chiron commanded.

"Aetos Dios, Zeus's divine eagle and messenger. What is it doing here?" I heard him murmur.

The eagle circled above my head, which gave me an eerie feeling until a symbol appeared above me—a blue lightning bolt.

"Not just one, but two children of the Big Three," Annabeth spoke this time there was something in her tone that didn't rub me right, as if I wasn't meant to be here in the first place.

"Zeus, the king of the gods, the father of Olympus, the arbiter of justice, bringer of lightning, and keeper of the known world."

"Hail Marcus Aurelius Phase. Son of the King of Olympus!"

Their bow this time was much more genuine than Percy's. They all lowered their heads to the ground, filled with awe and reverence.

With another screech, the eagle soared above and disappeared into the clouds. When the eagle drifted into the sky I was left standing along with Percy while the rest of the campers was bowed.

Oh fuck isn't this quite awkward. Shouldn't Zeus, my father just send some sort of email or something. No need to cause this much scene, now everything is awkward.

***

Well isn't this fucking great. Now everyone is avoiding me, either out of fear or they just don't want to get caught up by the troubles that comes along with being that thunder dude's blood.

They are even suspecting me, they thought that the hell hound came inside the camp to hunt me down. I mean they could be right but come on, no need to be such a dick about it.

Well the one thing that I liked about this current situation is that I got my own cabin. Yehey! Isn't that great?

Now I have a whole, polished, marbled and luxurious cabin all for myself. Wow, very nice. (Insert Borat meme here)

Well I could say I'm not the only one having the same experience right now. Percy got his own cabin too.

Though the poor kid have it much worse than me. Everyone started avoiding him much more than they avoided me, atleast on swordsmanship class I could get some partner but they just avoided him like plague.

Though Luke still teach him though. Speaking of Luke, ever since I got my blessing (Not that I need it though) I could always smell something familiar on his foldable shield.

I just don't know what. It feels like, something that belongs to me is there, each time I was near that shield my guts is urging me to snatch it away from him but I refrained from doing so, for now.

I trust my guts, it has saved me much more than I can count, even if the whole world will turn its back against me my guts won't.
