Chapter 29: Chapter 29

Chapter 29

Class 1, Year 1.

Marcus took a deep breath as he looked at the door in front of him. Once he enters this room, a new chapter of his life would begin, though he would not expect his life to go back to the way it once was. Still, he wants something semblance of his once simple past (or as he would like to think).

In this period of his life, he would try to hone his skills, sharpen his blade, and wait for the moment to plunge it into Luke's heart, all while living a somewhat normal high school life.

After gathering himself, Marcus pushed the door open, and upon entering, he noticed that he was the only one missing. So, after he entered, the entire class's attention fell on him.

"No way!" Someone from the crowd whispered. It seems they were excited when they saw Marcus. Some of the girls shrieked and started to gossip with their seatmate while the others looked at Marcus with full curiosity.

There was one thing Marcus didn't manage to notice after the betrayal: after he consumed almost the entire power of the Master Bolt, all the impurities he had inside his body disappeared, and his face and body were restructured into a vessel of perfection to carry the bolt's power. So, his appearance was something I'm sure no one could resist. Marcus scanned the room with an apprehensive gaze.

There was no standard uniform at Kijin Academy, so there was a lot of variety. There were students wearing samurai armor, some wearing a ninja's suit, and others in normal attire, but all of them were in some way different from each other.

"This is our first time having a Western transferee," one of the students wearing a samurai's robe said with amusement.

"Omg, I wonder what his name is!" A girl followed the conversation. After a few more murmurs, Marcus finally reached an empty desk where he was immediately approached by an overly eager girl.

"Yo! It's nice to see a new face here; I'm Jiro, by the way," she said eagerly while reaching out her hand for a handshake.

"I'm Marcus Arkanghel, nice to meet you. Please take care of me," Marcus said with a smile and shook her hand. By the way, his Arkanghel surname was his fake and temporary surname to hide from the Olympians. He personally asked Tenjin to change it, and with a surprise, the old man unexpectedly agreed without asking any questions.

"Well, Marcus, let me formally welcome you here in Class 1!" Another one interrupted their conversation. It was a male teen with long black hair wearing an overly long robe that looked like it was worn by a daimyo.

"I'm Kiri Matsamune of the Noble Matsamune Clan," he said, shaking Marcus's hand with a smile. Kiri was the type of guy you know that likes to play politics; the way he proudly smiles when speaking of his clan and his mannerism speaks it all. He's the type of guy you would want to stay away from because you might get manipulated into his plays. But Marcus isn't the type of guy to judge that shallowly just because of appearance. I mean, look at Luke; he looked like the perfect son, yet here he was betrayed by him.

There were still a few more minutes before class officially started, so Marcus figured it would not hurt that much to socialize, right? And so Marcus talked with Jiro and Kiri.

Almost all of them were genuinely surprised by how fluent Marcus was in Japanese. They asked him several questions about it, but he just shrugged it off and gave some vague answers.

And so, after a few more minutes of waiting, the first instructor of the day finally arrived. It was a young man who was about in his late twenties wearing a scholarly robe matching his thin glasses. For all he could say about his appearance, it was pretty much obvious their class would be theoretical.

"Good morning, students. Welcome to the Kijin Academy. I am Professor Tetsuo, your professor for Strategic Warfare or Strategic Combat Theory,"

After giving them some time to digest the situation, he continued.

"Yes, in theory only. Practical would be handled by Professor Kisune," he said.

"Now I would only give you students a brief introduction to this class,"

"Strategic warfare, also known as strategic warfare, refers to the use of strategic planning and tactics to achieve military or geopolitical objectives. It involves the careful coordination of resources, forces, and actions to gain an advantage over an opponent or achieve specific goals in a conflict. This type of warfare focuses on long-term planning, positioning of forces, and utilization of resources to impact the overall course of a war or conflict. It often includes elements such as intelligence gathering, logistics, deception, and the selection of targets to weaken the enemy's ability to resist effectively," he said.

"Though it would only be in theory, this subject has long been deemed useless because the age of war has been over. But it would still be useful to all of you, since many of you are heirs from Militaristic Clans; this could be useful to all of you if you ever wage war against each other," Professor Tetsuo chuckled as so did his students, but Marcus felt that there was some truth in his words.

"Now with that brief introduction about our class, I want to get to know all of you by name, so one by one, please step forward and introduce yourself, starting with the kids in the front,"

And so one by one, the students introduced themselves from their name, clan, dreams, and superficial things such as what their favorite color is or who their favorite idol is.

"I am Kiri Matsamune of the Noble Matsamune Clan; pleased to meet you all," Kiri introduced, unfolding his fan and waving it.

"I am Jiro; I like music and look forward to getting to know you all," Jiro introduced, and Marcus was left as the only one.

All eyes fell on him as he stood up from his seat and walked forward in front of everyone. After he was in front of everyone, Professor Tetsuo raised his brow when he saw Marcus. Though he was informed by the Headmaster that there would be a Western transferee, it was his first time seeing Marcus.

"I am Marcus Arkanghel, I am from the Clan of Burushitto, and I like big butts, and I cannot lie," He said jokingly, and the entire classroom erupted into mad laughter at his joke. Even the Professor chuckled a bit. But after it all died down, he formally introduced himself again.

"But all jokes aside, I hope to get to know you all," He said before going back to his seat.

"Now, now that everyone has introduced themselves with each other, I would leave you all with the remaining time my subject has, so go socialize with each other and see you all next session," With that, Professor Tetsuo left, leaving all of the students to socialize with each other.

Marcus, in particular, was swarmed by almost all of his classmates, bombarding him with so many questions.
