Chapter 35: Meeting Braga

Just as Mike thought everything was going smoothly, Gisele took out a device to obtain Mike's fingerprints.

Gisele said to Mike, "Maybe I need to see Campos later."

When Mike heard the name, Campos, he realized that this might be the real Braga.

In the movies, the real Braga is known by the alias Ramon Campos.

Mike decided to play it cool and pretend to be subservient during their nighttime meeting.

Brian planned to accompany Mike, but Mike stopped him.

He was concerned about Brian's impulsiveness and the lack of time to arrange a proper identity for him.

Mike decided to go alone and requested Brian's support at the border.

Mike and Gisele went to a crowded bar someplace in Los Angeles, California.

As they chatted, Mike noticed a man with small eyes and a golden appearance.

Mike accidentally bumped into him, causing the man to rush to the door, clutching his phone.

Using his undercover skills, Mike realized the man had left with another individual—a black-haired man who seemed familiar, perhaps from a movie or as a memorable character.

Mike ordered a glass of Corona at the bar, leaning against the counter, deep in thought about the encounter.

At that moment, Campos approached Mike from an aisle, patting him on the shoulder. He said, "You must be Mike. Hi, I'm Campos. I heard about you from Giselle."

Mike greeted him with a smile, acting as if they were old friends. Meanwhile, Fenix, sitting nearby, observed Mike with fierce eyes.

Campos looked at Fenix and advised him not to bother their friends.

Mike, feeling inexplicably targeted by Fenix, wondered what was going on.

He thought to himself that he hadn't done anything to offend Fenix.

However, he let go of his idle speculations and ignored Fenix's piercing gaze.

Mike said to Fenix, "I'll give you a chance for a one-on-one challenge." He deliberately provoked Fenix.

Just as Fenix was about to respond, Campos intervened, and the people around them surrounded Mike.

Meanwhile, Mike noticed Letty among the group.

She seemed oblivious to his presence and engaged in a conversation with Campos.

Mike first greeted Campos, realizing that he was Braga.

With a friendly smile on his face, Mike greeted Campos like an old acquaintance.

Fenix, who was sitting on the sofa, stared at Mike with fierce eyes.

Campos scolded Fenix, saying, "Don't treat our friends like this."

Mike glanced at Fenix, puzzled, thinking, 'Why is Fenix so hostile toward me? Did I unknowingly offend him?'

Mike deliberately brushed off Fenix's intimidating gaze and turned his attention to Letty.

He said to her, "Hello! I'm Mike."

Letty appeared to notice Mike for the first time, gently touching his hand and introducing herself, "I'm Letty."

At that moment, Campos said to Mike, "Be careful and don't jeopardize tomorrow's major event."

He glanced at Mike, then at Fenix, and finally at Letty, a warning evident in his eyes.

Feeling embarrassed, Mike turned his head away.

Mike purposely adopted this demeanor, knowing that Campos would trust him more.

He didn't fully understand the gangster's jargon, and revealing his secrets would only complicate matters.

It was better to present himself as an unapproachable character, someone annoying and perhaps even villainous.

Campos glanced at Mike and warned, "I don't care how high you want to be tonight, but if you jeopardize tomorrow's mission, you won't live to see another day."

Mike continued to gaze at Letty and replied, "Then I'll let you go, baby."

Letty gave Mike a contemptuous look and walked away.

Mike then flirted with a girl at the bar.

Fenix, sitting next to Campos, remarked, "This person doesn't seem trustworthy at first glance."

Campos smiled and replied, "I don't care about his trustworthiness as long as tomorrow's task is accomplished. The rest doesn't matter."

Phoenix nodded reluctantly.

As Mike roamed around, he approached Letty again, attempting to strike up a conversation.

"What are you doing here?" Letty frowned.

"I'm here to help you."

"I don't need your help. Let's go."

"Dom is waiting for you in Los Angeles. They'll kill you after delivering the goods tomorrow."

"I know."

"What are you going to do?"

"I'll retrieve the evidence."

"How? You'll be killed while driving tomorrow."

"I'll get the evidence tomorrow, return it to you, and then eliminate Dom's arrest," Letty replied stubbornly.

Angrily, Mike retorted, "Just tell me if you have any requirements."

"You'd better take care of yourself. I can handle it alone; I don't need your help."

"Fine, then hit me." Letty delivered a hard slap to Mike.

Fenix, watching from a distance, commented, "Can such a person be trusted? He has an annoying temperament from the moment he arrived. How should I put it? He seems like the bastard who tried to steal my woman."

Campos smiled and said, "It's alright. Look, he's not like that at all. If he were that bastard, they would already be in bed together."

Fenix stiffly replied, "I really don't like this person."

"I like him. I don't like him when I see him!"

"As long as tomorrow's task is successfully completed, you can do whatever you want," Braga said with a secret smile.

Now Fenix anticipates killing Mike the next day and feeling quite content.

Feeling the pain on his face, Mike asked Letty, "Was that hard enough?"

Meanwhile, Giselle, observing from a distance, couldn't help but laugh in her heart.

She felt a burst of joy, especially when witnessing the forceful slap.

After all, Mike could be quite irritating at times.

While Mike searched for his target, he noticed the man he had bumped into earlier.

Feeling a sense of familiarity, Mike decided to approach and get to know him.

After all, he didn't want to miss out on any potential skills.

Mike said to the man, "Hi, I'm Mike."

The man glanced at Mike and ignored him.

Mike had an idea—was the man disrespecting him?

Did he believe Mike wouldn't do anything about it?

Mike stretched out his hand and attempted to apprehend the man.

To his surprise, Mike found something soft and leather-like in his hand.

He switched hands and lifted the man up as if he were a wrestler.

Soon, the soft leather-like object fell out of the man's possession.

Mike let go of him and picked it up, saying, "So your name is Gordon," while glancing at a nearby sign.

"It seems you're a doctor."

Campos watched Mike and shook his head helplessly.

Although this person had strength, he was impulsive and attracted trouble.

Campos had hoped to groom him as a thug but didn't expect his impulsiveness to surface.
