Xue Tie is brought home and to his room by his father who has a serious expression on his face. Practically being dragged like a ragdoll by him which hurt his arm a bit as it was a bit forceful..

"Bring out your martial spirits again" Xue Tie does so, listening to his father. The incomplete gloves and veiny trident appear once more. Xue Mao sits down and summons his martial spirit. Except it's far larger and seemingly more materialized as it stabilizes to a fine 8ft tall trident. His father needs to have the trident sit against the floor as otherwise it would be scratching the roof.

It's a matching black-red trident but without the veins.

"As you can see we share a martial spirit. And your gloves seem to be a Strange mutation of your mother's. If that is the case, I hope you also retain the Innate ability of her martial spirits"

"Innate ability," Xue Tie asks his father as he has only ever heard of elemental abilities based around affinities who just nods and says

"An Innate ability is similar to one's affinity but taken a step further into a physical or mental form. The most common would be some fire beast capable of naturally spewing fire or lava with ease, or its counterpart. A type of ice creature emitting frost or ice casually."

"Your mother's partial spirit is a chain. But the ability of her chain allows her to go past one's defenses. Even a Titled Douluo would fear her if they got hit." Xue Tie oddly thinks about someone like the Bone Douluo of the 7 Tile Pagoda clans running from his mother after he sets up an intense defense only for it to break apart in a few hits and his spirit power does nothing to defend him against his mother but it's an unrealistic situation as he asks.

"That is so cool. But why does she not have spirit power then?" Xue Tie asks confused

"Haaa, that seems to be the natural price her clan had as every generation of her family. The only time that didn't progress was when her clan had married into mine but due to circumstances, that rarely came to pass."

"Clans?" Xue Tie asks confused again

"Yes, both I and your mother are from Ancient clans that had a good relationship with each other but I will tell you more about that tomorrow when we do a small road trip."

"ROADTRIP" Xue Tie says excitedly as his mind casts vivid imagery of giant fallen dragons ornamented up high along a secret base. Not knowing how far but also how close he was to the truth

Xue Mao smiles gently at his son's happiness, rapidly Infected by the joy.

"But wait, you are also from a clan. Did our clan also have some sort of special ability?"

"Indeed we do. Through spirit power we were able to summon a type of blood fire that inflicts a curse upon our foes" Xue Mao speaks out with confidence to his son.

The same son who now looks shell shocked before gaining a bored expression. 'It's just the bleed effect from Elden Ring. Sure it's cool and scales well in game, but who knows how well that works in this world.' Xue Tie theorizes to himself quickly

Xue Mao who sees his own son's disinterested look is disappointed and goes to the corner with a dark aura around him to twiddle his finger.

Xue Tie who realizes that his actions had seemed to affect his father greatly for whatever reason panics a bit and quickly apologizes.

"I'm sorry, I just don't know how that really works since there are so many types of spirit masters in the world." Xue Tie's words awaken his father from his moping. But only a bit, an annoyed voice says.

"Let's go do some training at the back of the house."

Xue Tie is the one shivering now since he has never seen his father like this before. The most serious was a month ago when he questioned him shortly after his mental awakening incident. He has always been a laid back type of guy.

Xue Tie stands across from his father after a few moments. His father had a strict aura on him as he held his trident. Xue Tie does the same but he has no proper stance, so he just holds it by his side.

"Regardless of what path you take or where you go, you will need to know how to wield that spear of yours"

Xue Tie tries to be a smartass and says "it's a trident". Which earns him an overhead attack from his father that he jumps back to avoid. More so out of panic than refined movement.

Afterall, what refined movement can a 6 year old, even if he used to be a 15 year old?

(For combat situations I'll refer the Trident Martial spirit as a spear for convenience)

Xue Tie gets up and takes a combat stance to try to see what he can learn, if anything since he has no knowledge of any offensive knowledge while his father is supposedly a level 40-something spirit master. Creating a great physical disadvantage for Xue Tie. Xue Mao takes back his spear and thrusts it at his son, who uses his own spear to try redirecting the attack while also side stepping instead of hopping around like a frog.

The collision initially goes as Xue Tie planned, yet he forgot that his spear isn't perfectly smooth like his father's. The vein-like structure, which looks more like a collection of shoddy welding work, gets stuck on the spikes of his father's spear. Knocking him to the ground from the recoil of it.

Xue Tie rubs his shoulder that he landed on during his fall and slowly gets up again. Xue Mao unleashes another overhead attack and Xue Tie attempts a gamer moment and dodges by rolling.

Yet this only nets him a kick from his father, that sends him flying a few feet as he spits out some saliva.

"Alright, that's enough. Your instincts and temperament in combat are very good and natural but you don't have the smarts to meet them evenly. Creating an unbalanced situation for yourself, That needs to be fixed quickly.." Xue Mao says as he gets his son up and dusts him off. Xue Tie has an angry expression over his mistreatment.

"Let's get to proper work in developing your spearmanship."

Xue Tie can only accept it and trains with a burning rage that Is only released when they stop training once it gets dark and he finds his mother holding a bundle of chains in her hands. She drops the entire bunch which causes a resounding thud as she stares with hatred at her husband. Her left hand holds the end of the chain and so with her other hand she points to a broken vase and scattered flowers.

Both father and son realize that the area is the same where Xue Tie got kicked towards. The bushes and overall body groaning from Xue Tie had masked the breaking sound of the vase.

"Best start running Dear. kicking around your son like that. What will the neighbors think?" A malicious statement is made but Xue Mao takes it as good intentions and gets to skipping. Xue Lana gets to chasing and Xue Tie Is left alone. His body is sore but he is mesmerized by the sight and he swears to himself.

'It's like I can hear the Yakety Sax playing.'
