Chapter 30: Accepting the Domain Seed and Officially Entering the City
Xue Tie sets his things up for personal use. Various ingredients from his own food empire going in the kitchen, extra clothes going in the closet except an emergency pair which he keeps in his armband.
He then spends a few hours to rest and relax from the arduous journey here. After-all, plenty of spirit energy was consumed to maintain his speed so he is experiencing some jet lag from the multiple days of flying. It was so serious that Xue Tie fell asleep in the comfortably soft King sized bed.
'Haaa, I guess I should finally get up and get started' Xue Tie thinks to himself as he finally resists the comforts provided for him and exits the bedroom.
He makes his way over to the Domain creation room. The ominous red runes being the only source of light for the lazy Xue Tie. He stands in the center of the room and summons his trident. He sticks it into the slots next to him and the runes glow brighter until: starting from the outer edges of the room. Red liquid begins flowing in, between each crack of each layer. The red liquid which smells heavily of iron. Xue Tie realizes this is blood and he also senses a strange energy flowing through it which he briefly sensed from the blood river and can only assume that the current blood flowing into the room is from the river itself
The blood coalesces in front of Xue Tie into a type of pearl. Knowing from the books he was given he is aware of the next step. He must eat it.
He hesitates to pick it up as he still has his memories of being a normal person from his old life. So suddenly volunteering to eat a pill of blood is not exactly appetizing to him. Xue Tie can only grit his teeth and quickly swallow it down. It's like a bloody jelly, It was easy to consume but the taste was so bad that Xue Tie wanted to vomit it out. Yet he couldn't as the pearl had rapidly merged with his own blood and lodged itself in his heart.
The sudden merger causes an influx of pain in Xue Tie but he can only bare with it and as the runes glow brighter, it is only 2 hours later that Xue Tie's heartburn ends and the light settles down to normal too.
Xue Tie stumbles out and returns to his bed as his body has been quite sore from the strange energy in the seed. The river is afterall the power source of the city to maintain it's structure and now that power had entered his body, ravaging it with no intent to stop for 2 hours straight. He couldn't suppress it as that would have increased the pain.
Xue Tie was so exhausted again at the end of that session that he can only desire to go to sleep again. But can only force himself up while rubbing his chest around the heart area as he thinks about the next step of his stay here. He goes to the kitchen and sets up the alchemical devices and gets to work on making the potion his parents gave him the recipe for. It's supposed to help increase his power and smoothen the journey to creating his domain.
How, he is not sure as from what he read, he has to kill many people and their blood would be absorbed by the seed in his heart.
Xue Tie simply gets to work on making the potion. Kneading the herbs into paste. Boiling that paste and collecting the extract. Mixing the extract from all the herbs together and then refining that until it has changed color to a mellow blue liquid.
Xue Tie swirls the final product in his hand with a curious expression before reminding himself that he trusts his family. The last mistake he will ever make as he drinks the liquid and everything goes dark.
"YOHOHOHOHOHO", In the outer edges of Slaughter City, a Maniacal laughter is heard
