Chapter 39: Familiar Mark
The moment Alexander arrived at his opulent palace quarters, he made sure to drop the snoring Leviathan gently on his king-sized bed before taking off his clothes.
Of course, he remembered that he had felt an intense pain on his back in the dark cave, but he was unable to check what caused the searing pain due to the circumstances in the cave.
However, that is not the case anymore. He took off his opulent black robe, exposing his lean and chiseled body, which glistened under the soft glow of the room. Every muscle, meticulously sculpted, seemed to ripple with power and strength.
He stood completely nude under the bright illumination in his palace and strode purposefully towards the tall mirror in the wardrobe section of his palace.
He turned his body to face the mirror until he could get a very good view of his chiseled back.
The sight he saw, however, made his extremely handsome face contort in shock.
On his chiseled back, a very intricate tattoo of a black serpent was drawn across his whole back.
"What the hell is this?" Alexander exclaimed in shock, his azure irises darting around hastily in astonishment at the appearance of the intricate tattoo on his back.
"When did I become a Yakuza?" Alexander asked out loud, his shock evident by the surprised expression on his face.
Alexander was not a fan of tattoos and piercings back on earth, as he deemed them extremely painful due to the use of needles to get any of them.
He had what was known as trypanophobia. However, to put it in simpler words, he was extremely afraid of needles.
Due to his extreme fear of needles, he avoided anything that involved the use of needles back on earth and, of course, developed an intense fear of getting tattoos and piercings.
However, he had to admit that the intricate black tattoo of a serpent across his entire back looked extremely cool.
He studied the intricate tattoo more intensively and soon discovered that the black serpent tattooed on his back bore a very uncanny resemblance to his familiar, Leviathan.
With how knowledgeable Alexander had become, it didn't take long for him to deduce what the tattoo on his back actually was.
"Hmm, so this is my familiar mark?" Alexander muttered to himself as he stared at the intricate tattoo spread across his chiseled back.
A familiar mark is an entirely different space where the familiar a person had formed a bond with could stay.
There were different forms in which a familiar could be kept. It could be kept in a jewelry form, such as earrings, necklaces, and the like, or it could be kept in the form of a tattoo. From what Alexander deduced, his familiar Leviathan could be hidden in the form of a tattoo.
"This is pretty convenient for me, though." Alexander muttered to himself, his right hand under his chin, as he stood completely nude in front of the tall mirror in his wardrobe.
"The alabaster serpent was certainly Leviathan's mother, and it was that colossal at ruler-level. That surely means that Leviathan would be as colossal, if not more, than its mother when it reaches the ruler-level." Alexander pondered.
"It would surely cause unnecessary damage to the surroundings and also attract unwarranted attention if it walked around with me at such a behemoth size." Alexander pondered; his azure iris narrowed as he made several critical thoughts quickly.
"However, if I keep him hidden in my mark, it would be very convenient for me to go anywhere with him!" Alexander came to a conclusion; his eyebrows furrowed as he absentmindedly stared at his extremely handsome visage in his mirror.
Unbeknownst to Alexander, Leviathan was the descendant of a species of serpents called the 'World Serpent', and they were at the very top of the strength pyramid among beasts.
They always grew to be behemoths in terms of size, and in terms of strength, they were pretty much unrivaled.
Moreover, Leviathan's scales were obsidian in color, which was a clear indicator of its gender—it was a male. His mother's scales were alabaster, which was a clear indicator that it was a female.
Furthermore, 'World Serpents' males always grew to be bigger than their female counterparts, meaning that Leviathan would grow to be as behemoth as Alexander could imagine, and then even more!
Their species weren't named 'World Serpents' for nothing.
Alas, ignorance was bliss, and Alexander right now was basking in the bliss ignorance brought.
Alexander, after spending close to twenty minutes staring absentmindedly at his visage in front of the tall mirror in his wardrobe, turned his attention to the still-snoring obsidian serpent on his king-sized bed.
He strode lazily towards the snoring serpent, scooped it up in his arms, and walked in the direction his luxurious bath was located.
His bath was not exactly a bath, but a very beautiful garden with a fountain in the center of the garden.
In the middle of the garden, there was a large space filled with sparkling water. Its beauty was hypnotizing. Under the soft sunlight, the water sparkled and swirled, its allure creating a mesmerizing sight.
There was a beautiful fountain filled with tall streams that flowed down gracefully into an adjacent area, where the water held a serene presence.
In the garden, there were a lot of beautiful flowers and tall trees, and each one had a distinct appeal of its own. These natural wonders were full of beautiful, exotic foods that drew him in with their bright colors and enticing smells.
The garden also had many different kinds of flowers, and each one smelled different and interesting. Their soft smells mixed in the air, creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
No matter how many times Alexander visited the garden, he found himself consistently captivated by the tranquil and serene atmosphere that enveloped the surroundings.
'If only I had a lot of naked beauties to bathe me now.' Alexander mused wistfully as he stared at the graceful garden with the snoring Leviathan in his arms.
Alas, those were merely wistful thoughts. With a melancholic sigh, he lowered his nude body into the cold water. The moment the cold water touched his fatigued skin, he let out a relaxing sigh of satisfaction.
"Sleepyhead, you should take a wash too." Alexander muttered lazily, and without any hesitation, he dumped the snoring Leviathan into the embrace of the cold water!
The next instant, a loud shriek echoed in the serene garden, making Alexander tremble with laughter.
The black serpent shrieked loudly as it thrashed around in the water. The cold temperature was subjected to jolting him awake and far away from the clutches of sleep!
"Tsk, tsk, sleepyhead, you should know better than to always keep sleeping." Alexander couldn't help but tease his Familiar, a mischievous smirk dancing at the corner of his lips.
As Leviathan thrashed around in the cold water, Alexander laughed hilariously, occasionally throwing around several teases at his serpentine familiar.
Leviathan's intellect was still at the level of a newborn beast, but it was still higher than that of a newborn human baby. Therefore, he could tell that he had a special connection with the extremely handsome young man who was currently making jokes about him.
However, that did not mean that he would let the handsome young man go scot-free for daring to make fun of him.
His pride as a 'World Serpent' would most definitely not allow him to do so.
As Leviathan thrashed around wildly in the cold water, extremely uncomfortable with the temperature of the cold water, he narrowed his onyx eyes at Alexander's laughing visage.
He didn't know how he was going to do it, but he vowed to make sure that he made Alexander pay for his sins!
