Chapter 9: Chapter 9
After finding out everything he can about the killer ants. He already knows how to deal with the war shadows since they like to ambush as well. This will be the first time he steps on to the seventh floor and with it killer ants begin to appear.
His goal is to summon an army of them once he gets used to them and is confident enough he can handle it. So that he can push himself further. Though right now he'll be playing it as safe as he can. He won't underestimate them.
He knows if he gets into trouble he can always use Darkness Embrace. Though it's a double edge sword. The longer he uses it the more angry and bloodlust comes. The skill came to be because of all he went through. The anger, humiliation, torture, and watching his fellow prisoners die cause immense anger until he no longer felt anything. That's because all of those emotions turned into this skill and once he uses it, it all comes back to him.
That's why it's too dangerous to use it all the time. Normally you would have to learn how to deal with all that anger and bloodlust to at least be able to live somewhat normally. Though because his was taken away and put into a skill. He doesn't know how to control all that anger and it consumes his mind and body. The more he resists it, the more damage it does to his body. It's not a problem if he uses it for a few minutes but once he gets past a certain point, the darkness begins to take over.
The more control he has the longer he stays sane using it. His limit is five minutes. Any longer than the darkness tries to take over. It is a useful skill because it's basically a free level up when he uses it but has its disadvantages. The last thing about it is. If he pushes the boundary to far, it begins to take it's hosts life force taking years off his life. Though that's for the extreme circumstances. That will only happen if he pushes himself too far to stay in control of the darkness even when he shouldn't be able to.
After getting everything ready, he starts to head down to the first floor and prepared himself to fight anyone or anything that threatens him. 2 hours later he finally enters the seventh floor. he just finished slaying a small group of both war shadows and dungeon lizards. He suffered some small scratches but nothing to serious. He then continued to walk until he finds what he is looking for. It even took him a few minutes to stumble upon one.
He instantly appeared in front of it and swung his sword. A clang was heard as his sword met the exoskeleton of the killer ant. "So it's pretty durable" Akino smirked a little without noticing. He swung again but with more finesse and effort and was successfully able to hurt it. The killer ant sensing the danger tried to call for more reinforcements but before it could it's head was cut clean off.
"Phew that was close". He was not yet ready to face a horde of them. He grabbed it's stone and started to look for more to get more comfortable with them.
A couple hours later, we see Akino finishing off two more killer ants and grabbing their stones. "That should do it for today. He got bored on the seventh floor and went to the eighth floor instead. It was a good time for gaining experiences and he was about to head up when he heard a yell coming from behind him. Normally he wouldn't care but curiosity got to him and decided to take a look.
By the time he got there it was almost over. A party of adventurers was almost all wiped out with only a few left alive. He put on his hood and mask to conceal his features in case he needed to step in. He watched as the last three members, two men and one woman was surrounded by killer ants. "Idiots, they must of let one of them call for reinforcements. How pathetic could they get". Akino might not know the circumstances but everyone should at least know that when injured a killer ant will try to call for reinforcements.
He sighed and decided to step in to help seeing as they are overwhelmed already. He used both Lightning slash and Flame Lance to even the odds a bit. Several ants were killed unaware of how they died. Akino rushed in and started to slash at the horde of ants smiling under the mask without knowing. He continues to kill even when they managed to hurt him. It was like he was in a trance and nothing else mattered but the deaths of the ants.
After several minutes gone by the horde was killed and the three adventurers took a breathe of air then fell down on their knees in exhaustion. As they caught there breath they tried looking at the person who helped them only to notice he wasn't there. That was until they heard a noise from behind and saw their savor collecting the stones and drops. They watched him collect them all before giving them half of it. They were confused but thanked him earnestly for saving them. Akino just nodded his head and used his magic to heal them.
After a few minutes he got up and left them alone. They tried calling out to him but he didn't reply and just disappeared. An hour later we find Akino back on the surface and was heading towards the guild. He managed to make another 79850 valis and put it away. He looked outside and saw it was night time. He decided to keep his so called "promise" and headed towards the girls restaurant. He was hungry after all and he liked to see an try new things. "Let's see what this place has to offer shall we" Akino whispered quietly through the night.
