Chapter 5: The Rainbow Gem

In the void, billions of light years away from the world Ren was living, a Rainbow colored Gem was moving through space at the speed of light. It was as if it was fading in and out of existence tearing through the fabric of space-time.

All the obstacles, like asteroids that came in front of it, were shattered apart by the golden shield that was surrounding the Rainbow Gem to protect it.

After an unbeknownst amount of time, it seemed to sense something and suddenly changed its direction and started to move in a different pathway.

After Aragon died, an unknown amount of time had passed. So far, this Primordial Artifact had already chosen several candidates as owners to help them evolve to be the strongest existence in reality and fulfilled the purpose for which it came into existence.

But every time after gaining a little bit of power, each of these chosen candidates became arrogant and perished because of their greed and foolishness.

And because of that, this Ancient Artifact had weakened sufficiently over the countless decades, and now it could only return to its former glory along with the next 'Chosen One'.

After an unanalyzable amount of time and traveling through the void for an unspecified distance, the Rainbow Gem appeared in an anonymous place in the void.

In front of the Primordial Artifact, one could catch glimpses of a beautiful world protected and divided by many barriers.

There was also an enormous enigmatic gate with ancient ruins carved in it. This was known as the 'Heavenly Gate'.

The Heavenly Gates was the only way one could enter a world. However, every gate had certain rules to prevent any threat to enter that might annihilate everything within that world. It also was there to prevent the chaotic energy of the void from entering.

But there were always exceptions. And the Rainbow Gem seemed to be one of them.

It did not even pass through the gate like it was supposed to be. Instead, it directly passed through the barriers and enter the world and started to move in a certain direction for which it seemed to come here from the very beginning.

In the mortal plane, Present time.

Ren could not understand what was happening. One moment he was surrounded by a group of bandits trying to kill him, and now suddenly he found himself in a dark space. Trepidation took root in his heart.

Even though he could move his body in this darkness, there was nowhere to go. Cause even after running through for several minutes, he did not see any end of this place, nor was there anything to assume the identity of this unknown space.

Accepting the reality, he could only give up. Shedding tears, Ren began to recall all that transpired in his life so far.

He, who was an orphan in his previous life, died because of an incurable illness. But to his surprise, he reincarnated in this foreign world as a child with his memories from previous life.

He was glad and comfortable cause even though he was not from a rich family he could feel the love and warmth of a loving family for the first time in two lifetimes. But fate also took that away making him an orphan again.

And finally, when he started to recuperate and learned to live alone, he died again.

Looking up at the endless darkness, Ren sighed, "Is this what Hell looks like? I guess I was sent here to atone for my sins."

Clapping his hands, he began to implore, "I'm sorry Aunt Xiao for peeking at your nakedness when you and Uncle Ming having sex in the woods. Forgive me, my friend Wei Chen for using your mother as fap material."

Ren lived at the very end of the village near the forest. Because of that sometimes he had the chance to see when Aunt Xiao and her brother-in-law were having sex in the bushes.

Anticipating not getting any answers, Ren instead heard a mocking chuckle. He abruptly stood up in fright. Looking around He stuttered, "Who...who are y-you?"

[Before answering your question, would you mind taking care of your hard-on?] A soft voice could be heard.

Looking down, he saw his shaft trying to come out of his pant making him quite embarrassed. However, before he could ask for more the voice was heard again.

But this time an ancient emotionless voice could be heard. The softness from before was nowhere to be seen. The voice seemed to come from every direction making one puzzle about the source of the voice.

[Hello Host. I'm known as Origin. A system that had chosen you as the owner to help you become the strongest existence.]

Ren was terrified. He started to think he was drugged by the bandits. But the next moment, his trepidation turned into astonishment.

[No need to worry Host. The system has no intention of harming the owner because the system has already merged with Host's Soul. Only death can do us apart.]

Instead of enjoyment, he thought of something else. 'Can it read my mind?'

This time rather than an enigmatic and monotone voice, a soft female voice giggled. The voice was so delicate that could make one wonder how beautiful the owner might be.

[I've already told you, I've merged with your soul. That also means I can hear your inner voices, and read your memories without your authorization.]

"Am I really in Hell? A-are you the ruler of hell? O Great one... Please forgive this ignorant fool....." Ren began to murmur.

[How could a mere king from the Nether Realm could even get the possibility and capabilities to be compared to this Supreme One.]

Even though the voice was still soft, a little bit of annoyance and pride could be felt.

Ren was astounded. Even though he did not know what kind of power a king of the Nether realm held, He could not fathom the kind of being he was speaking to right now.

But rather than asking about such things, he questioned something that made the voice surprised.

"If you are so strong, then why did you choose me as your owner? There are no freebies in this cultivation world. So tell me the reason." asked Ren frowning.
