Chapter 13: The first avenger
We were toying around with a joint invention in Howard's lab when his assistant informed us that a Colonel would like to have a meeting with both of us.
When we walked into the meeting room, you see an older gentleman sitting in one of the chairs as we moved closer, he gets up, comes to greet us.
"Hello, my name is Colonel Phillips and I have a project I would love for you guys to work on." he says, while shaking our hands.
"And what would this project be?" Howard asked.
"And why ask us," I asked to act like I didn't know, to keep up appearances.
"I'm asking you to to help on project rebirth which is a project to make super soldiers for the military.
I'm asking you two personally because you are two of the most brightest minds in the states that has been seen in the most recent decade" Philip states as he sits down and gets comfortable.
It was agreed Upon that we will help with project rebirth but will also be able to leave and run our business.
The next day we got escorted to Brooklyn to a secret base to help Dr. Erskine.
As we walked in there was a old lady who asked.
"wonderful weather this morning, isn't it."
Then Colonel replied. "Yes, but I always carry an umbrella."
After the key words are spoken the old lady goes to the desk to hit a button.
We walk to the back room to see a book case opening up to a different room.
Standing in the center of the lab is a old man with grey hair and glasses named Abraham Erskine.
"It's very nice to meet you both, I hope you can help me make the serum better.
I heard from Phillips that you two are one of the brightest people around, I can't wait."
For the next two years we worked hard on perfecting The serum and the machines to administer the dosage.
While working on the serum I decided to try to upgrade it from the original by adding my blood.
To make sure nothing will go wrong I asked Raphael to run the numbers this what the answer I got.
" Master if you add a couple drops of your blood to the current batch we have it will, increase his strength, his speed, healing factor, and his life span.
Since you will be fusing the serum to his current genetic makeup, some of the vampire perks will be added to the current upgrade the original serum will do."
After the confirmation of what I already thought would happen, I did just that I added my blood to the mixture to improve it.
I'm now standing at Howard's stark expo, waiting for him to come on stage.
I still think this whole show and dance is a little to much, but it's not my company and inventions displayed.
The media has heard talks of us doing projects together but at the current moment they are not released.
I start to paying attention to the stage as Howard comes on stage to start the show.
"Ladies and gentlemen mr. Howard stark!"
"Ladies and Gentleman what if I told you, in just a few short years, your automobile won't even have to touch the Ground at all."
"With starks revivit reverse technology you'll be able to do just that."
He spins a knob and pushes up a lever and as the lever goes up so does the car.
Shortly after he lets go of the lever the car falls to the ground sending sparks on impact.
Looks like to didn't take my suggestion to heart it would of worked if he did, his failure not mine.
I look towards the recruitment area to see exactly what I want to see a tiny scrawny Steven rogers.
I walk inside once I see Erskine walk back inside after rogers I want to make sure everything still happens as it should.
Erskine " thank you. So, you want to go overseas and kill some nazis."
Rogers "excuse me?"
"Doctor Abraham Erskine, I represent the strategic scientific reserve." He says waiting to shake hands."
"Steve rogers." As he excepts the handshake.
After hearing to start to the conversation I was happy to know that my involvement with Erskine didn't change who he picked.
I didn't think it would but your just never know when it involves with messing with time.
For the rest of the time before the transition, I was mostly in the shadows, watching the funny show of a scrawny man trying to make his way in the army. One of the funniest moments is when he just pulled the pen and let the Flagpole fall to the ground and grab it to get a ride.
It only hours away from the procedure to happen. We are now doing our last-minute checkups make sure nothing wrong, or everyone starts piling into the auditorium.
I hear footsteps coming down the stairs I turn to see the man of the hour, the scrawny before image captain America.
"Good morning." Dr. Erskine turn to look at the photographer.
"Please not now!"
Rogers turns to look at the capsule device looking worried.
"You worried."
"No."
"Good, take off your shirt, tie, and hat."
Well, Rogers is sitting in the capsule Erskine asks.
"Stark, how are the power levels."
"Good we might dim half the lights in Brooklyn, but we are ready."
Erskine it's the microphone a few times,
"Do you hear me is this thing on? ladies and gentlemen today we take a step forward not towards annihilation, but towards a path to peace."
"We begin by injecting the serum in the subjects make your muscle groups, selven fusion will make immediate celluar change, then to stimulate growth subject will be saturated with with vita-rays".
Roger makes a face trying not to make a noise while the needle poked him skin
"That wasn't that bad."
"that was penicillin."
"Serum infusion In 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 now."
You can see and hear the serum go into rogers' body; you can see that he's in a little bit of pain until it's fully injected.
"Now Mr. Mikealson."
As I pull the lever the capsule goes into an upright position while closing.
Erskine goes up to the front glass and knocks on it.
"Steven can you hear me?
"it's probably too late to go to the bathroom, right?"
Steven jokes.
Looking at me, Erskine says.
"We will proceed."
I go over to the dial to turn it to power it on and start upping the power of the rays in the capsule.
"10%, 20%, 30%, 40, 50, 60, 70."
When I got to 70 Steven starts to scream that keeps getting louder.
I stop turning it when I see Erskine run up and start banging on the glass.
"Steven, Steven, Steven!"
While he's trying to get him to answer you can see and hear Peggy run out of the observing room yelling "shut it down!"
"Kill the reactor Mr. Stark!"
But before he shuts it off Steve yells from inside "no.. don't… I can do this."
Erskine looks at me and gives a nod so I continue.
"80, 90, that's 100%."
"Mr. Mikealson."
I pull the lever to open the front to see a completely different man then before. He has more muscle and is more defined then in the movie.
While everyone is celebrating on the successful experiment, I'm looking for the hydra agent I saw him in the stands so I know he's here, as soon as I found him in the crowd I started to walk towards him when Erskine also noticed him and he activated the bomb he left in the seating area as a distraction to grab the last vile and run.
Bang! bang!
During the rain fall of glass he grabbed the vile and shot Erskine and started to make his way up the stairs.
I could have stopped him and saved Erskine but at the moment I'm supposed to be just a scientist and a engineer not a super-powered being.
I'm trying to not be known for having powers not as this identity.
While I was dazing off Steve started to run after the murderer.
Before his whole operation started, I left a clone in the crowd outside and had it change its looks to blend into the crowd its goal is to follow and monitor Steve during his chase.
I tasked Raphael to monitor and notice any difference in the story or at the moment his strength, and speed I want to see if my blood really did anything to make it better.
{master after watching his current chase it seems without a doubt he is definitely stronger and faster then his original counterpart.
If it wasn't for the fact that he misjudged his strength and jumped over a car when he planned on landing on it, he would have grabbed him sooner but unfortunately the hydra agent got away from him and got to the submarine.}
That's amazing I'm curious how far he can go, how strong he truly is.
