Chapter 7: What's to be left behind.
"U-ugh.." I slowly opened my eyes.
'Where am I..?' I thought as I looked around.
White ceiling, white walls, and people walking around dressed in white uniforms while wearing face masks.
"Uuoohh... my wife.. my children.." I looked beside me as I heard someone crying.
It seems that I was inside a big hospital while wearing a hospital gown. Several hospital beds are aligned to the opposite of each other, only to be separated by a blue curtain.
*toot* toot* *toot*
I looked at my side as I heard a sound coming from a monitor, the monitor shows three lines which are green, red, and blue with a bunch of numbers on them that I can't possibly understand what it means.
Ah, wait. The green line that spikes up every now and then is probably the heart rate or something. I had watched enough tv dramas to know that one.
As for my arm, it seems that I have a dextrose injected into me.
"Oh! You're awake!" A nearby nurse said to me.
She then moves quickly to the person wearing a lab coat.
"Doctor!! Doctor! A patient from THAT incident wakes up!" The nurse said.
"Really!?" Said the doctor, clearly surprised at the information.
The doctor then walked towards me.
"Hello, kid. How are you feeling?" The doctor said to me in a calm voice.
"Ah, yes— I'm fine," I said as I tried to feel my own body if there was any pain.
I'm not feeling any pain, and I don't have any wounds. In fact, my body felt perfectly okay. Except that I feel extremely tired. And for some reason— I can't feel my magic. Does overusing my magic have some effect?
"Can you tell me your name, age, and the last thing you remembered?" The doctor said to me.
"Umm.. My name is Staz, 9 years old, and I..."
'Oh shit, I can't exactly tell him that I just helped All Might defeat All For One, right?'
"And..?" The doctor said.
"I, uhh..remembered eating with my mom, and going to my room. And then.. the next thing I knew, I was already here." I said.
"Oh, I see." The doctor said as he wrote something in his clipboard.
"Well kid, here's some thing. It's been exactly a day since you've been here. Honestly, I am so surprised to see how fast you recovered. I don't exactly know what you have been through but when you first came here, you're in such a horrible state." The doctor said worryingly.
"You were carried here wearing only a tattered short that was literally drenched in red blood. Aside from that, you're barely breathing."
"But the most surprising thing is, after an hour, you're suddenly breathing at a normal rate without us doing anything. Well all I just wanted to say is— good job kid, you're pretty resilient." The doctor said as he patted my shoulder.
"Rest properly kid." The doctor said as he went away to attend the other patients.
"Ah, excuse me. When will I be able to go out?" I said to the nurse.
"Ah? Didn't you just hear what the doctor said? You should rest for now." The nurse sternly said to me.
Great, nurses and their strict attitude. No hard feelings— I still appreciate you guys for your dedication.
"Do you want me to call someone for you?" The nurse said.
My eyes went wide as I had a realization.
"Wait.. Actually, did someone come to visit me?? Like a person with green eyes, brown hair, and wearing glasses?"
"Hmm.. I don't think so, sorry."
"Oh.. I see.." I said as I hung my head down.
No! I shouldn't think of something bad. He could still be out there searching for me! After all, this is not the only hospital that exists.
"Your phone! P-please can I borrow your phone for a bit!?" I said as i tried to raise my upper body with great effort.
"Uhhh... sure?" The nurse said as she handed me her phone.
Calling my father is out of the question, I don't know his phone number. The only solution left that I could do was by— surfing the internet.
As I continued to search, I found an article that made me remember a horrible sight.

'Mom...' I thought as I lowered my eyes.
I can't lose hope here! If I can't find him, that just means he's definitely out there! Yeah! that must be it!

— I saw my father's hero name on the casualty list.
"Ah.." A small voice escaped my mouth as I lowered my eyes.
I already knew it, I just decided to deny things. My father went out early on the pretext of 'emergency'. From there, it's most probable that the emergency he received was because of the fight between All Might and All For One.
*Ba-dumb-dup* *Ba-dumb-dup*
My heart beats loudly as I can finally feel a certain energy flowing slowly from inside of my body.
"Here's your phone, thank you very much." I said as I handed her phone back.
"Also, could I go outside? I wanna get some fresh air." I said.
"Ha.. The doctor just said you can't still get outside, remember? But good news! You could still go to the rooftop of this hospital. Want me to assist you?"
"No, thank you. I should be fine on my own."
"What? But you're clearly not! You can't even move properly ye—" The nurse said, but she couldn't finish her sentence as she saw me.
I get out of the bed and stood up quite easily.
"Yaaawwnn.... See?"
"Oh?" The nurse said, clearly surprised at my action.
"Haha. Not to brag but, I can recover pretty fast." I said, shrugging my shoulder.
"Well see ya' later." I said as I got out of the room.
I walked towards the elevator, entering it as I pressed the highest number— floor 6. And then I went to the rooftop by walking on stairs.
Sitting on a bench, I inhaled deeply as I tried to feel my magic. Surprisingly, the amount of my magic increased. If I were to compare it, my magic used to be the size of the door of a van. But now, my magic is like the size of an average door.
As I was figuring out my magic to distract myself from current events, All Might suddenly appeared as he landed in front of me from who-knows-where.
"Yo." I said.
"Young Staz.."
"Why did you look so gloomy? Your girlfriend dumped you?" I said jokingly.
"..." All Might didn't reply.
"Oh come one! I'm joking, I was just trying to lift up the mood!"
"But.. I didn't manage to capture All For One after all that you had done for me. I am ashamed." All Might said as he bent down his head.
"Nah nah nah, come on. We did what we could have possibly done. You still managed to stop him! You saved those people that could have possibly been killed if he continued his action!" I said.
"All Might, look. You already did your best." I said, trying to lift up his mood.
"And as for those that died, we could only pray them happiness for their afterlife. We gotta move forward man." I said.
All Might looked at me. "I really wish I could have your courage and your optimism, young Staz. But things aren't that easy, you wouldn't understand." All Might said in frustration.
"Huh..? What did you just say?" I said as I got surprised by what he said.
"Ah...n—" All Might said as he realized what he just said.
"How dare you say that I won't understand!! BOTH OF MY PARENTS GOT KILLED!! WHAT MAKES YOU THINK I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!" I said as I stood up, finally snapping out.
"Even right now I was itching to go after him!! But then what? Where could I find him? And if I ever actually find him, what do you want me to do? Kill him!!?" I screamed at All Might, trying to unleash all of my pent up emotions that I ever have since my parents died in my past life.
Yeah I also lost my parents in my past life.
During that time, I was just trying to brag something to them. As soon as I got my driver's license, I drove my parents around the city. And unfortunately, things didn't end well.
We crashed into a moving car in the opposite lane, giving us fatal injuries. The ambulance immediately arrived at the accident, but it was declared that my parents were dead on arrival as the ambulance got us to the hospital.
I was the only one that survived.
And because of that, my siblings absolutely loathed me while the rest of the family hates me. They said that whatever I did would not be forgiven.
I actually tried thinking of apologizing, but in the end— I got scared. I got scared of facing them. And so, I ran away from them.
I ran away from my responsibilities.
"Courage?? I don't have that! And goddamn, you're the adult one here!!" I said, pointing my finger at him.
"Smile!! Prove that everything is fine now because you are here!! Prove that you're not the Symbol of Peace for nothing, ALL MIGHT!"
"haa.. haa..." I breathed hard as All Might remained silent.
'Damn we must looked weird as hell right now. A nine year old kid scolding the number 1 hero.'
All Might looked at me with a shock expression, only for that expression to turn into a bright wide smile.
"... You're right.. I am deeply apologizing for showing my embarrassing side, young Staz!" All Might said.
"Thank you for that, young Staz!! From here now on, I will bring justice, hope, and courage!" All Might said as he puffed out his chest.
"And it will now be fine!! Why?" All Might said as he raised his arms and widened his legs.
"FOR I AM HERE!!" All Might shouted as he flexed his biceps.
'Well damn, now that's the All Might I know.'
"NOW SEE YOU LATER, YOUNG STAZ!! HA HA! I APOLOGIZE AGAIN!" All Might said to me, flying away.
*Boomm!*
"Alright there he goes.."
Well.. there's something I didn't say. I didn't said that I won't come for All For One.
Some people said, 'Forgive, but do not forget'. I will do that differently.
I will definitely not forgive, nor I will forget. I would come for him soon, but not now.
For now, I will be waiting patiently.
