Chapter 2: Grimoire x Jack x Kite
Inside a tent, a teenage boy was laid to rest on a portable futon with his chest wrapped in bandages.
Gaining consciousness the boy opened his eyes to an unknown site. Frowning, he wondered 'Where am I?'
As a creature of habit, the boy immediately searched for his smartphone but feeling an unbearable pain in his chest, he stopped moving and groaned in pain, "Aah!"
The pain reminded the boy that he was shot on a bus while reading the latest chapter of his favorite Webnovel 'Card Apprentice Daily Log.'
As the title of the Webnovel crossed the boy's mind, as if a trigger was pulled a book suddenly appeared in front of him out of thin air and weirdly enough the teenage boy found information about the book's origin in his mind. The book was an item from his favorite Webnovel 'Card Apprentice Daily Log.'
"Diamond Grimoire," he blurted in shock. The boy could not believe his eyes. Following his thoughts, the grimoire opened to reveal the status page,

While reading his stats in the diamond grimoire Jack understood everything he needed to know about his current situation, after losing consciousness on the bus he was mysteriously teleported to the Hunter x Hunter world and awakened the 'Diamond Grimoire' of Card world as his Nen ability. As a result, the grimoire and its abilities have been adjusted to suit the Nen power system. Considering that Jack was in 'Hunter x Hunter' and not in 'Card Apprentice Daily Log' it was only logical.
"You are awake," A voice awakened Jack from his thoughts.
Jack gently turned his head to look at the source of the voice to find a lean handsome man with knee-long white hair in a white t-shirt, turtle neck, and blue beret-like cap.
This was the most beautiful man Jack had seen, even the most popular Korean boy bands and Japanese male escorts were nothing compared to his beauty. This man was none other than Kite, the disciple of Ging Freecss and one of the fan-favorites in the Hunter x Hunter universe.
"I see you are aware of Nen," Kite speculated, seeing that the boy was not surprised to see the diamond book conjured by his Nen but looked excited and overwhelmed with joy.
"Yes, I knew about Nen but this is the first time I have ever come in contact with it," Almost all the characters in Hunter X Hunter had good critical thinking and investigative skills, especially Kite. Lying to him would not be wise so Jack decided to speak half-truth.
"Do you know me? Have we met before?" Kite asked, noticing that the boy's eyes looked at him with admiration and awe instead of the caution that an average person with a gunshot wound should when meeting a stranger in a suspicious tent.
"Let me introduce myself first, my name is Jack Daniels, I like to call myself a hunter enthusiast. What I am going to say next will sound creepy but please understand I daydreamed about becoming a hunter and gaining Nen a lot of times and occasionally when I am in school during my classes.
Yes, I know you but we have never met. As a hunter enthusiast, I try to keep myself updated about Hunters but I especially remember you because of your good looks, Mr. Kite," Jack had no fear or caution in front of Kite because he knew Kite was one of those characters in the original work who as a hunter held himself to a higher moral code and would never harm a defenseless teenager.
This world depicted the extreme of both good and bad in humans so Jack was very happy that Kite found him instead of some psycho characters mentioned in the original works.
Listening to Jack's explanation, Kite found no deceit or malice in his words. But based on Jack's micro-expression Kite could tell he was hiding something. So Kite decided to further question Jack to figure out what he was trying to hide, "Jack, what are you doing out here in the wilderness?"
