Chapter 97: Luxen Forest (4)

A faint yellow light enveloped Gaze's body and he felt most of the pain on his body go away.

He was left confused as to why Vivian cast healing magic on him.

But before he could find the answer as to why, he was interrupted.

"ARGH!" he groaned in pain as Vivian pulled him up by the hair with one hand as if he weighed nothing and felt like his scalp was about to rip off of his skull.

"Listen here, kid --"

Pang!

"AHH!"

Gaze attempted to kick Vivian on the groin but she easily blocked it with the staff of her poleaxe, causing him to cry out from the pain he felt on his shin.

"Are you done?" Vivian asked dryly.

Gaze gritted his teeth and tried to punch Vivian on the face with a skill.

[Power Fist].

Bam!

Crack!

Thud.

The moment he raised a fist, Vivian immediately shoved his head down and raised her knee, breaking his nose and 2 front teeth before releasing him.

"AAAHHH!!!"

Gaze cried in pain and covered his bleeding mouth with his hands as he rolled all over on the ground, painting the grass with the color red.

As a man in her previous world, although there weren't exactly rules on a street fight, there were 3 unspoken rules that all men generally follow.

Don't hit a man's groin.

Don't hit a woman's boobs.

And don't bite.

So when Gaze tried to kick Vivian on the groin, her instincts as a man in her previous body kicked in.

Vivian massaged her temples and let out an exasperated sigh.

"Why are kids so hardheaded…?"

Pscht!

Vivian suddenly felt something poke her back and caused her body to twitch a bit.

She quickly turned around and saw Felize with her hand aiming at her and her face painted with a shocked expression.

Torr, who was still frozen in a fighting stance, also had a shocked expression on his face.

But then again, when it came to Torr, as far as Vivian could remember, he had been wearing a shocked expression ever since she kicked Gaze on the stomach so she didn't really pay attention to him.

"What did you do?" Vivian asked innocently as she titled her head to the side

"AEEEEYYY!" Felize cried out and pulled out her hand before rolling over to the side and began crawling away desperately.

Looking at her crawling like a worm, Vivian almost burst out in laughter but managed to stop herself by pursing her lips.

In her head, no matter how annoying Felize was, she was still a young girl.

Vivian turned to Torr.

"You."

Thud!

"AEEEYYY!" Torr flinched and cried out as well before falling to the ground on his rear end.

Vivian rolled her eyes.

My god…!

Why are these brats so overdramatic...?!

Like, aren't I beautiful...?

Or does this world have a different taste...?

But, on the other hand, these kids are supposed to be adventurers…

So...

She shook her head mentally.

No point in crying over spilled milk…

I have to see this to the end…

"What did she do?" Vivian asked Torr.

Not answering, she raised a hand and aimed it at him.

"S-S-She c-cast a [Lightning A-Arrow]…!"

"Heh~? Really?"

It was then an idea popped inside Vivian's head.

"Gather your friends so that I can heal their wounds."

"W-What…?"

"JUST DO IT, YOU STUPID BRAT!"

"AEEEYYY!"

Vivian closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths to calm herself.

Vivian, understand that these are kids...

No matter what, these are kids...

They are supposed to be annoying and stupid because they lack discipline...

Had they grown up under my parents' rule, especially from my father, they would have had manners when talking to adults or anyone above them...

Especially to someone like me...!

She opened her eyes.

"Gather your friends so that I can heal their wounds," she said with a warm and kind smile. "Now, move!"

"AEEEYYY!"

Vivian suppressed the urge to shove the stick of her poleaxe down on Torr's throat and make him gobble on it.

***

[Heal].

A faint yellow light enveloped Felize's body and she felt most of the pain on her body go away.

The 3 kids were sitting on the ground while Vivian was standing in front of them.

She also healed Gaze. And just like Felize, the skill [Heal] didn't completely heal him, it only removed most of the pain.

However, there was something she didn't expect to happen.

Hmm…

So [Heal] doesn't heal lost teeth, huh…

Earlier she kneed Gaze's face, causing him to lose 2 front teeth and break his nose.

His nose recovered, but his teeth didn't...

Does this mean [Greater Heal] can recover lost teeth…?

If not, I wonder if 15-year-olds can regrow their lost teeth...?

She shook her head.

"So, as I was saying, the Bukaroo quest is mine. So don't take it. I don't care whatever quests you take, but just don't take the Bukaroo quest."

The trio were silent.

Torr was looking at the side, Felize was looking at the ground and Gaze was looking at Vivian.

Although they all more or less held a fearful expression, Vivian could also detect a hint of hostility from them, especially from Gaze.

"You can report this incident to the guild all you want for all I care. However, what will be your proof? Your injuries? I've already healed them."

Their faces, which were already pale, became paler.

"So yes, it will basically be your word against mine. And what story do you think is more believable? A single Copper I Rank adventurer beating 3 Copper I Rank Adventurers or 3 Copper I Rank adventurers trying to spread malicious and blasphemous lies against a Copper I Rank Priest?

"And if for some miracle people decided to believe your story, so what? You're all nothing but rookie adventurers -- you're a Warrior, you're also a Warrior and you're a Wizard."

Gaze and Torr were Warriors, while Felize was a Wizard.

"Meanwhile, I, I am a Priest that many adventurers and nobles want to be associated with. And a powerful one, at that."

The trio looked down, whatever hostility or fighting spirit they secretly had inside their hearts deflated even further.

"Look, I'm not asking much. All I'm asking is for you 3 not to touch the Bukaroo quest until I become Silver I Rank. Do you understand me?"

"Yes…" Torr and Felize replied.

Gaze, on the other hand, just nodded.

"And to be fair," said Vivian. "If you really think about it, it's you guys who are being unreasonable here. I mean, just look at you guys. I'm actually the victim here and I feel like developed PTSD from this incident."

The trio didn't know how to reply.

"Do you agree or not? Answer me properly."

"Yes, we agree..." they answered and it left a bitter taste on the tip of their tongue.

"You agree what?"

"Yes, we agree not to touch the Bukaroo quest."

"Good enough," Vivian said and nodded. "Now, I don't want you to think I'm being unfair or taking advantage of you so I'll throw you some help as well. I'm not that crude of a person."

The kids didn't say anything.

"So, do any of you have unopened Magic Arts?"

"I-I have Lightning and Wind but only unlocked [Lightning Mastery]…" said Felize.

"I-I have Dark and Fire but haven't opened any of them yet… I'm still in the process of opening the [Fire Mastery]…" said Torr.

Vivian noticed that Gaze didn't say anything so she turned to him.

"You. What Magic Arts do you have?"

"I only have Physical Arts," he said and then gritted his teeth. "But I'll make sure that I will still become very strong!"

"I see," Vivian said dismissively and then shifted to the rest of them. "You're in luck, I have [Wind] and [Fire]. I'll open them for you right now."

"What?!" Felize and Torr exclaimed, their eyes wide.

Among the Magic Arts, [Fire] and [Poison Mastery] were the easiest to unlock. With Fire, one just has to burn themselves. Meanwhile, for Poison, one just has to expose themselves to poison.

But for the rest of the rest of the Magic Arts, some needed magic assistance such as [Light] and [Dark Mastery], while others like [Ice] and [Lightning Mastery] either needed magic assistance or they needed to create a situation to simulate those elements.

Because of this, Magic Arts that need magic assistance can be quite expensive to open.

In fact, it was one of the heaviest financial burdens that this trio was saving up for.

Vivian turned to Felize.

"You're first. I will open your [Wind Mastery]. Don't worry, I will heal you as well. But in return, I want you to cast [Lightning Arrow] on me."

"You have [Lightning Mastery] as well?!" Felize asked.

To them who only had 2 Magic Arts, hearing that Vivian had Light, Fire, Wind and possibly even Lightning was quite impressive.

As for how they knew Vivian had [Light Mastery] was because of the glow of Vivian's healing spell. [Heal] emits a faint yellow glow, while [Greater Heal] emits a brighter yellow glow.

Vivian thought about it for a moment.

"No, I just have some experiments that I want to do."

Vivian sat down on the ground and removed the fingerless glove on her left hand.

"Come sit closer to me."

Felize got up and sat right in front of her.

"I want you to cast [Lightning Arrow] on my hand," she said and stretched out her hand.

I hope the "Italics" work. And by the way, I'll be posting the profile pics of Gaze, Felize and Torr later. Forgot to post them on Chapter 95. I wasn't feeling well these past few days and it totally slipped my mind.
