Chapter 2: Damon

"Mr Stone, we have landed in LA. The weather is a bit chilly tonight sir." I opened my eyes and yawned turning to see outside the window. I turned my gaze back to the annoying lady and rolled my eyes.

"You're car is waiting for you outside." I stood up and immediately groaned. My back and ass we're stiff from sleeping for so long, I didn't even get a chance to walk to my bedroom before I succumbed to darkness. I blame Rosie for her whinning little voice and my brothers for making me leave at 1am in the morning without getting proper rest.

I left the plane as soon as the doors opened and sighed at the familiar sight of the place I grew up in. There's a weird feeling of satisfaction everytime I drive on the streets of LA. I watched pedestrians on the streets in total silence, only the sound of cars driving past me interrupting my thoughts and soon, the familiar scenery of trees and a little stream came in view. I caught sight of my mansion and slowed down. I pressed my fingerprint on the ipad and the gate opened oh so slowly. I parked my car inside the in-door parking lot and stepped out.

I stretched once more, my muscles more stiff than I thought they'd be but nothing a good ol' shower won't fix. I walked inside my bedroom and sighed at the un-homely but nice atmosphere it provided me with. The floor-cealing window overlooking the busy streets of Hollywood and it's sign up on the hill never ceasing to mesmerize me.

I stripped naked and stepped under the hot shower, today's events draining with the water flowing on my body. I relaxed for a bit before quickly drying myself off and settling on my bed. My phone rang near me and I picked it up without checking.

"Hello brother, welcome home." Ace yelled on the cell making me wince. I took deep breaths to try and calm myself down before I practically killed him over the phone...if that's even possible.

"What the fuck do you want you annoying little asshat."

"Oh nothing, just wanted to remind you that we have that party tomorrow and Phraser picked up your school assignments." I groaned at the mention of school and almost threw my phone on the wall in frustration.

"What's the matter D! Don't tell me that the little visit to mom and dad made you forget all about home!" He faked a gasp and laughed at his own joke.

"Oh and Phraser said he'll pass by later to check if you're still alive, byee." He hung up before I could get a chance to reply. I tossed the cellphone away and got up from bed. I heard the door slam open as soon as I stepped out of my bedroom. I made a beeline for the kitchen and found him raiding my fridge.

"Hey, you look better than I expected." I grabbed the potato chips away from him and slumped down on one of the stools on my island.

"Don't I always!" I teased, tossing a chip in my mouth.

"So, how did it really go!" He sat across from me and turned all serious.

"Rosie was a pain in the neck as always and Derrick being the spineless coward he is, still sucks up to her." I shrugged.

"Would it kill you to call them mom and dad." He shook his head and sighed.

"Anything interesting happen today!" I asked, wanting to deviate away from the parents topic knowing that it never ends well.

"Well nothing, expect your psycho girlfriend kept looking for you even after we told her you left LA." I gringed at the mention of Jennifer and glared at him.

"Jennifer has never and will never be that to me. She thinks she's entitled because she got dick." Now it was his time to cringe.

"Oh and Anderson gave us a good ol' lecture about taking our classes serious because were seniors." We both rolled our eyes.

"I don't know when he'll get that half the people in that school do not care whether or not they graduate." I scoffed and shook my head side ways.

"We do, as well as Camille, Kaylee, Jackson, Ro:-"

"-:yeah yeah, I get it. The whole horror house family, point noted." I chuckled and winced internally once I noticed his serious look.

"Speaking of 'horror house':-" I rolled my eyes. "-Jackson went to pick another scholarship kid tonight. I think she's from South Africa or something." He shrugged and munched on a crisp.

"You know what they say, the more the merrier!" I said rolling my eyes. He laughed with his mouth open making me glare at him in disgust.

"Get out of my house Phraser." I gritted out once I realised the overly disgusting pieces from his mouth all over my kitchen island. He put his arms up in surrender and walked towards the front door with his crisps.

"Don't forget to come to the:-"

":-party! yeah, out." He flipped me off and walked outside slamming the door close. I sighed and cleaned up the mess Phraser left behind before retiring to my room. I checked my phone and Jackson's name popped up, ruining my already terrible mood. I tossed it away and closed my eyes, trying to succumb to the darkness that never came. I gave up after an hour or so and decided to check whatever hell of an assignment Anderson gave us to do throughout the weekend. He makes high school unbearable with his non-stop preachings about being sucessful and taking our studies seriously. Almost every kid in that school is atleast 5 Million dollars rich yet he still feels the need to remind us that money isn't all that matters. Having a diploma, degrees and all that crap matters too which is total bullshit.

I flipped open the Geometry test we did last week and grinned once I saw the A± at the top of the paper, I almost laughed remembering Anderson's face. The fucker knew I had tortured some kid in order to pass but he couldn't do a thing. No one can do a thing which is pathetic but, I loved it. All the fear, I fed off of it. Showing emotions is a sign of weakness and people won't give a shit whether or not you care about them. It's called being human.

I threw everything away and lied in bed once more before finally retiring to darkness. The only place I ever felt home.
