Chapter 8: Cost for free knowledge

This...

What the fuck?

Why is it...

Why is the blessing mostly sealed?

What happened to the super op item I received after accepting the blessing?

[Items from any divine realm to here must be transported at a cost, regardless of the god or mortal's strength or the distance.]

[Given that there is essentially no energy present at this time, making it 100 times more expensive than it should be, no regular god would grant something from the divine realm to a helpless mortal.]

You would expire from the pressure on your body if the blessing wasn't sealed. Do you recall when Anar'aya-

But the weapon...

[This is not a fantasy]

[At least be happy you got a blessing at all and didn't die. All other mortals except you and the other four regressors would be dead just having the blessing for 1 second.]

Wait, you said there are multiple divine realms.

[Yes, but that's all I know. The only logical conclusion I can come up with is that for each god there is one divine realm that is perfectly suited for said god]

So there are multiple gods as well, then why did that goddess say that she is a primeval one and one of the last few as well?

[If a god says that they are primeval, that means that they are as old as the universe or were born together with something new and became the god of that something, the reason for why there are so little primeval gods]

[.... I don't know, get more knowledge and find out yourself, I don't have enough knowledge to find out things. I can only say so much because I know the meaning of the word 'primeval']

[While you are here, I wish to notify you that you have a total of 80 copper coins.]

Oh, thanks for reminder, then open the 'shop'

[Shop:

-Skills

-Knowledge

-Items

-Consumables

-Miscellaneous

-Unique]

System, can you filter out some stuff?

[I have that function, tell me what to conditions the item must meet and I will filter them out.]

Then the thing must be purchasable to me and I must be able to use it. Also, put the most useful things at the top of the list.

[Understood, give me a second]

[{filtering}]

[Done]

Then open the skills section

[Skills:

Analyze (G-), price 60 coins

Magic book (G-), price 70 coins

Single Weapon Wielding Master (G-), price 80 coins

Partial Tactical Awareness (G-), price 50 coins

Keen Eye (G-), price 40 coins

Regeneration (G-), price 50 coins

Dual Wielding Mastery (G-), price 70 coins

....]

The top 10 skills are extremely useful, even if the skill is an inferior version.

Wait, why are the 'Dual Wielding Mastery' (G-)' and 'Single Weapon Wielding Mastery' (G-) up on this list.

[Dual Wielding Mastery gives instinctual knowledge on how to wield two weapons, all possible combinations, as long as you consider it a weapon and wield that thing in your hand, same for the other hand, simultaneously, then this skill will give you a felling on how to correctly wield it. It is ranked so low is because it gives only a feeling, nothing more, so it's better that nothing, but worse than just buying a two skills like 'Axe wielding' (G) and 'Shield wielding' (G-) and practicing till you get the 'Axe and Shield wielding' skill or buying it straight away.]

[Same thing for 'Single Weapon Wielding Mastery', but reserved for when wielding only one weapon.]

[Fun fact, if you get 3-5 specific weapon mastery skills to SS rank the 'Single Weapon Wielding Mastery' will increase from G- rank to G.]

[Though the weapons must be different. So, for example, if you learn four different sword mastery¹ skills, like 'Rapier Mastery', 'Bastard Sword Mastery', 'Great Sword Mastery' and 'Falcata² Mastery', then it won't do much.]

[Though if you learn 'Falcata Mastery', 'Bearded Axe³ Mastery', 'Sibat⁴ Mastery' and 'Gerron⁵ Mastery', then the skill rank will increase]

A/N: 1)Weapon Mastery Skills automatically get renamed after S- based on the type of weapon you are using, example: you use a javelin, so until S- rank it is written as 'Spear Mastery', but after S- rank it transformed to 'Javelin Mastery'

2)The Falcata is a distinctive curved sword that was used by the ancient Iberian warriors, particularly during the 4th and 3rd centuries BCE.

3)The Bearded Axe, also known as a "Viking Bearded Axe," is a historically significant weapon commonly associated with Viking warriors.

4)The Sibat, also referred to as an "Asibata" or "Sibat-helbard," is a traditional spear used in various regions of Southeast Asia, particularly in the Philippines.

5)The Gerron, also known as a "Targe" or "Targe shield," is a traditional round shield that originated in Scotland. It typically features a wooden or metal frame covered with leather or hide.

Search up the image if you want to know how the weapon looks. A/N ends

So it doesn't increase when you learn similar weapons, because you can't wield a spear with a sword skills and vice versa. But if you learn different weapons, you can combine them or get a feel of how to wield them since a staff is similar to a spear and a knife is similar to a sword.

[Yes]

[For learning the same amount of different masteries at SS- grade, you can get 'Single Handed Weapon Mastery to G or G+ rank]

[If you buy masteries that cower broader concepts like 'Sword Mastery' or 'Axe Mastery', then you will only truly learn the basics of the basics. So you have to buy specific skills like 'Bearded Axe Mastery' to truly learn the basics, though said skill must be at G+ to truly be considered as learning the full basics.]

Ok, I understand. but what can I buy in the 'knowledge' section?

[You can buy knowledge about how to do this or that, thus they are cheaper per rank compared to skills.]

[A great example of why that is would be the 'Magic Book' skill. If you bought the knowledge, you would know how to do it, but you would not be able to do it, since you only know the theory, not the practice, buying the skill version will automatically give you both.]

[And I tell you that learning 'Magic Book' manually is a mammoth task even with the assistance of all the theoretical knowledge you might need.]

[I recommend you buying the knowledge counterpart of the skill since it will benefit you more than learning the skill straight up, but if time is pressing you, feel free to buy the skill.]

[There are some exceptions, I could notify you, but all things you buy will get a 5% tax, do you agree?]

No, the information you provided is enough, plus the 5% tax will show itself once I buy the truly high ranking skills, so this decision might come bite me in the ass.

Give a description of 'Magic book' first, then I'll decide.

[Skill: Magic book

Rank: G-

Description: Forms an ethereal book completely made out of mana that only you and only those that surpass your 'mana manipulation' skill are able to see the book.

Effect: You can write anything in it with the help of mana manipulation and it will automatically save it. The book's measurements are 5cm*10cm (1.9in*3.9in) and the number of pages is (int*3). The properties of the book could change with rank.]

Ok, I decided that I will buy the 'knowledge' version of the 'magic book' skill at the highest grade possible.

['Magic Book' knowledge, G rank, cost: 80 coins. Do you agree to the purchase? Y/N]

Yes

['Magic Book' knowledge, G rank, purchased, should I transfer it now or later?.]

Ok, let's see how bad it hurts.

Transfer now.

[Ok, transfer beginning]
