Chapter 30: Twice As Strong

Since Ethan had decided to enhance all his stats apart from the intelligence stat, his focus was on the other three rather than on this one.

Ethan pondered long and hard over how much he should enhance his stats.

This was of great importance.

For one, Ethan would be unable to enhance his stats like this again and grant them an instant power upgrade until his next level-up, which wasn't currently on the horizon.

Ethan also had to make the right choice, although in actuality, there was no definitive correct decision, as all four stats were valuable depending on their usage.

Ethan had three stats on his to-enhance list: strength, agility, and constitution.

Having more strength would enable Ethan to deal greater damage as a damage dealer in his fights, making battles against weaker enemies easier.

Having more strength would also allow Ethan to hold his ground for a bit longer and even have the opportunity to inflict damage on stronger opponents.

Increased agility would make Ethan faster in his actions and so forth, while a higher constitution would enable him to better withstand damage.

All three stats were useful, but Ethan had to decide which of the three to prioritise to boost his survival rate.

Ethan needed to make the right choice now to elevate his prowess a bit

After considering it for a moment, Ethan finally decided how he would allocate his attribute points.

Currently, one could argue that the main threat to Ethan's and the other players' lives in this world were the monsters that inhabited it.

If these monsters were eliminated, the danger of this world might immediately be cut in half.

This was something Ethan and the other players had contemplated before.

However, Ethan also wondered if the monsters in this world were truly what they should be concerned about, or if this place was merely an appetiser for what lay ahead.

The notifications Ethan had read about the system and the tutorial ground echoed in his mind intermittently.

However, Ethan couldn't afford to dwell on them for long, and the situation was the same now.

Ethan felt that having more strength would allow him to deal more damage, making his fights easier or at least levelling the playing field in certain battles.

Ethan deemed this attribute as vital.

With his mind made up, Ethan also devised a plan for allocating his stats.

While Ethan lacked precise knowledge of the specific enhancement value conferred by each point, he remained confident in his distribution.

Ethan chose to allocate two points each to strength and agility—enhancing his damage-dealing potential and agility.

Ethan further designated a single point to constitution, fortifying his capacity to endure damage and bolstering his overall survivability.

This wasn't a poor decision as it balanced Ethan's stats while still providing a notable enhancement to his physical capabilities, which had been his primary strength alongside his martial arts since arriving here.

With his decision made, Ethan wondered how his status would appear and how substantial the increase would be.

Before assigning his attribute points, Ethan checked his initial stats after levelling up.

"Wow," Ethan muttered aloud when he saw the 0.5-point decimal increase to his strength stat.

Ethan's voice was quite audible, but the only one who paid attention to him was Mia, as she was the only one among the three who had nothing to do with her status at the moment.

While it was only a decimal increase in his attribute value, the situation was slightly different when Ethan examined his attribute stats.

Before Ethan could become too excited about the fact that he now had twice the strength of an average human, he felt a surge of energy flood his body.

The sensation was not painful; rather, it was warm and refreshing.

Ethan felt as if he were in a warm bath and was even on the verge of letting out a moan.

Fortunately, Ethan managed to hold himself back.

Fortunately.

A few seconds later, the sensation of energy disappeared.

Ethan felt revitalised and less exhausted.

A surge of strength coursed through him.

It didn't take long for Ethan to deduce the source of this sudden energy surge, undoubtedly a result of his earlier enhancement of strength.

However, oddly enough, even though Ethan felt an increase in strength, there was no noticeable change in his muscles.

Ethan's muscular appearance remained unchanged, yet he was certain that the newfound sense of strength he was experiencing was not illusory.

Evidently, enhancing basic attributes didn't seem to have any impact on one's physical appearance.

Preferring not to dwell on something he couldn't comprehend, Ethan proceeded to complete the allocation of his attribute points.

However, before Ethan could even revel in his increasing strength, an intense surge of energy engulfed him.

This time, Ethan couldn't hold back.

Ethan involuntarily let out a moan.

One person cringed and the other heart shuddered due to being in close contact with the weird sound.
