Alex looked at the Mysterious Page and used it immediately. A few seconds later, his eyes began to burn, his pupils started to change shape, and they started to resemble an owl's. Afterward, his pupils went back to normal. The burning sensation continued for a whole minute, and then a system message appeared in front of him.

Alex looked at the skill he acquired and couldn't help but be surprised. He knew that the skill was strong; however, he didn't believe it would be this strong. The skill could even become stronger. Alex couldn't help but feel giddy and hurriedly went to the guard barracks to turn in the wolf pelts. He was able to turn in all the rare wolf pelts he had collected for 5 gold coins and the Elite Sky Wolf materials for 10 gold coins. He also gained 750 reputation points. Then, he went to the mage tower and turned in all the monster materials along with the moss. The materials netted him 150 gold coins, and the moss gave him another 100 reputation points. Alex was close to becoming a citizen of Violet City. Reputation affects many factors like quests, privileges, and the attitude of the city.
The reputation system worked on a class system with Citizen, Baron, Viscount, Count, Earl, Margrave, and Duke. The reputation points change for each rank, and certain ranks require specific requirements to be acquired. To achieve Citizen status, the only requirement is to have 1,000 reputation points. Reputation usually only applies to the city where you earned it. A citizen is able to set up a stall to sell items, access more quests, access more shops inside the city, and more. Of course, that's just for becoming a Citizen; once someone becomes a noble, even more privileges open up. He went to an inn and rented out a room for 5 silver. Then, he laid out all the items he got from the boss and started to use his new skill's only active ability, Peer. He found out that he gained 10 Ivory Iron items, 7 Shimmering Silver items, and 3 Light-Gold items. The 10 pieces of Ivory Iron were just some basic equipment. The Shimmering Silver items were also normal equipment for the most part. However, one of them was a potion recipe. One of the Light-Gold items was the potion he had drunk, and the other two were a sword and a throwing knife.

At the moment, Alex was level 17 and couldn't equip the Red Throwable Knife; however, he was able to equip the Runic Sword. He also sacrificed his Assassin title into his True Soul title. This increased the number of equip able titles from 2 to 3. He equipped his Elite Slayer title into his True Soul title. Then, he quickly assigned his status points and looked at his new status.

Alex looked at his status with great enjoyment; then, he equipped his Runic Sword and put his old sword inside his storage ring. He looked at the time inside the game and logged off for the time being. He stood up from his pod and began to stretch his stiff body. He went to the kitchen next, looking for something to eat. While he was eating, he started to look at recent news about the game and noticed how the world started to fully notice the game. He had been inside the game for a little more than 15 hours and needed to know everything that had happened. The game had been out for 2 days, and its popularity had started to explode. The game had reached 25 billion active players in the past timeline and had become a second reality for the world. Alex began to read news articles and posts on social media. He wanted to know the information most of the world was privy to about the game. Most players were complaining about the game's difficulty; however, Alex could only snicker at their ignorance. The people complaining about how hard the game is now had no place in the new era. He was looking forward to the announcement after a week of its launch. After a week from its launch, the developers of the game announced a game-changing feature. Of course, it was already inside the game; however, after a week of its launch, a player had changed races. A player had been able to change his race from human to undead. This player would later become known as the Insane Lich.
While Alex had a few things to do in the real world, he needed to be the first to become tier 1. While tier 1 is the first major turning point in the game, it was also the time players got selected for a class. Their class was chosen based on the skills they had, titles, stats, affinities, and achievements. Alex was after the bonus the first person got from becoming a tier 1, a unique treasure chest. This treasure chest was called the Class Chest as it gave out, depending on your luck, better classes. The classes you are limited to once you become tier 1 are basic classes; however, the Class Chest gave out a randomly graded class that suited you. It could be a basic class similar to the system-generated class, or it could be a higher-ranked class. While Alex was from the future, most players didn't post any details on how they got their special classes. While a few did get posted, none of them suited Alex. Of course, he had plans on using this information for the guild he planned on creating.
Alex had 5 more days to get to level 20 and complete his tier upgrade quest, so he quickly cleaned up the kitchen, did the basic workout he had begun to train in, took a shower, and logged back into the game.
