Chapter 54: 054

Alex looked at the man who was glaring at him; however, he quickly retracted his gaze. Through his Seeker Eyes, he could tell he was the main apostle, but he was different from the person in the last timeline. He sighed and felt he should not rely too much on his future information.

Alex thought about the Evil God temple in the last timeline. The Evil God temple was an NPC power that worshipped the Evil God. A select few players would be able to become either an Indirect Apostle or a Direct Apostle, or they themselves could become a Direct Apostle. Each Direct Apostle had three Indirect Apostle slots, and the Evil God could only appoint a maximum of five Direct Apostles. Only one Direct Apostle had been used, and in the last timeline, he had destroyed a kingdom and empire with the powers he had received, along with the Evil Beasts he had created. He sighed and felt that the times ahead were going to be chaotic, as a Super Guild had also fallen from the Evil God Temple's siege.

Fortunately, an NPC faction that directly opposed it also existed. This faction was called the Magic Temple Faction, and they had a connection with a god of equal standing as the Evil God, the Magic God. The Magic God was the single strongest god as they had full command over every spell, regardless of the element. Moreover, the Spirit Association was a direct ally of the Magic God Temple, so they had a much larger reach than the Evil God Temple.

Alex and Mia left the banquet with substantial gains, and once they arrived back inside the Spirit Association, they each headed toward their guild building.

While Alex was inside Purgatory, Mia had been able to purchase an abandoned noble's mansion. So far, they had already cleaned out the entire place, and they had begun to move in. Alex had wanted to gather all of the guild members, or at least a hundred of them. He first called for the others to gather in the guild building with 25 people in total for each Archangel, with the exception of Claire as she was still on her quest. Once everyone had arrived, Alex stared at the beautiful sight in front of him. He was standing on a podium, overlooking three columns of 25 of each of the Archangel's troops. The last column was Mia's troops, and he had asked her to leave a spot open for him. Alex smiled at this wonderful sight and then said,

"Hello, everyone! I called for all of you today to raid a dungeon. The dungeon is a large-scale dungeon that has a minimum and maximum of 100 players. I will be taking command of this operation; however, as I doubt you will simply believe in me, we will be completing a different 100-man dungeon that is much easier first."

"What dungeon will we be hitting?"

"First, we will be hitting the 100-man dungeon called Witches Abode. Then we will be hitting the 100-man dungeon called the Temple of Old."

"Alright, that— Wait!? The Temple of Old!?"

"That is correct. Is something wrong?"

"Of course something is wrong! Every guild inside the Scholar Empire has raided that dungeon, yet none of them have succeeded."

"I see. Well, we just need to make sure to succeed."

"Sigh! You are crazier than me. Alright, count me in!"

"Mhm, me too!"

"Ugh, even you, Snow!? Alright! Fine!"

"Alright, while we are heading to our first dungeon, send me the information on everyone in your groups, including yourself."

""Understood!""

Alex smiled at this display. He had always played this game solo and would very rarely play with other players. However, now he had a whole group to play with and depend on. Alex and the whole group left the guild residence and headed to their first target, the Witches Abode!

While Alex was moving through the city, heading toward the dungeon, news about his desire to raid the Temple of Old spread through the city like wildfire. While Alex was so engrossed with the idea that he had found people he could depend on and trust, he had overlooked one critical factor. This one simple oversight would cost him dearly, and he would learn the value of trust. Alex had forgotten that human nature is unpredictable and is more inclined toward sin than virtue.

Various guilds kept a close eye on this player named Lucifer. They had been able to glean only a small amount of information on him, and they had also found out he barely involved himself in his own guild.

Alex arrived at the first dungeon, a dungeon that was unique in that it was inside the city. In front of him was a large estate that seemed to be ancient, yet through some kind of miracle, it was still standing. Cobwebs were a common sight, as the broken-down gate was littered with them. However, Alex stopped just before entering the dungeon and started to talk to his group.

"Alright, before we enter the dungeon, I want to clarify everyone's role. I just sent everyone a message about what team you are in. I would like team one right here, in the front; team one, you are our spearhead. Make sure the monsters are focused on you, and none get past you. Team two, you will be in the middle, and you will be composed of mages and healers. I'm sure I don't have to remind you about what you need to do. Then, three and four have the same composition as team one, with tanks and melee players. We will be using a simple and easy formation, the triangle. Now let us begin this raid!"

Alex swiftly touched the portal in front of the ancient gate. Once his hand came into contact with the gate, a few system notifications appeared; however, he ignored them and entered the dungeon on the hardest difficulty available, hell.

While the group entered the dungeon, their faces were covered in horror as they realized they were challenging the hell difficulty of this already difficult dungeon. Although Alex claimed this dungeon was easier, only the Normal difficulty had been completed.
