Chapter 29: Chapter 24:Freeing the Reaper

General POV
With the report now done, we moved on to the next one.
This one was from a mission in Nebraska, dealing with some faith 'healer' who could actually heal people.
Agent 2412 POV (report)
We came to this part of Nebraska to investigate two different conditions, one of which was about a faith healer who supposedly had the power to truly heal someone, and another was about a series of people mysteriously developing issues and dying out of nowhere, like an athlete getting a weak heart out of nowhere and falling apart, etc.
Firstly, we all went to check out the healer as such to see if there was any substance to his miracles, and we also kept our scanners active so that only we'd be able to hear its warnings, if any.
We then entered the tent like place where the healer worked and saw him choose one person. This girl had a brain tumour of sorts and was terminally ill. To be honest, this was not an issue for us to heal if she'd actually come over to us or sent a request to our helpline for that, but everyone to their own.
We then saw him healing, and as soon as the supposed healing was done, our scanners went out of the roof. There was a reaper here, and there was a medallion having the reaper's control here, which was wierd; the healer didn't wear any... But we saw the person supporting the healer wearing a cross shaped medallion, which was too big to be normal, as well as giving signals on our scanners as well.
Upon more inspections and asking around, we found out that it was the wife of the healer. We also found the bank story about the healer as well as some other cases regarding the mysterious deaths.
Later that day, we also found out that at the same time when the girl was being healed by the healer, a college football player had dropped dead with a 4th stage brain tumour, which wasn't there in the morning as he had a health checkup regarding the same. This incident confirmed our guesses that the healer is just a figurehead for his wife's work, and she is doing the healing by swapping out the issues people who believe, have and give it out to people she considers unworthy.
What a believer! Playing God herself.
We then set it to stop this charade once and for all, so as to avoid any more innocents being implicated in the stupidity of this woman.
We all then set out to scour the house of the healer, which, surprise, got the attention of the cops who were in the pocket of this healer. After being confronted by them, we quickly did an uno reverse and arrested them instead. The idjits didn't know when to give up even when we showed them our credentials!
We then went back to searching the place for anything that could help us gain a connection. We found one point for that in the basement of the house and broke into it.
Lo and behold, how the devout had fallen!
We then quickly checked the area, took photos for proof, and lit it up like firecrackers, which immediately got the attention of the healer's wife.
She came running out like the Karen she was and confronted us regarding harming her property, but was immideatly captured by some of the female members of our team, who promptly destroyed the medallion that she wore.
Now this had an unexpected outcome , a bit expected to be honest, but still something we often forget: the reaper, who was supposed to be enslaved by the medallion, was instantly freed, and he came upon to reap... And reap he did.
The instant we left, the woman went out screaming towards the tent area, where some of the lingering crowd was, but was pounced upon by the reaper just before she reached there, still in front of the eyes of everyone. This is how we freed the reaper.
