Chapter 1: Prologue: The war and the magic scroll.
Continent of Reviah was a blessed land by God because of which it's land was very fertile and rich in natural resources. Isiah kingdom, Dukeberry kingdom, Canterville kingdom and Sillgard kingdom were the four major powers ruling over the continent.
The continent of humans or new human world as called by others since major population was of humans. In this world there were many powers each ruling their own territory and would seldom fight with each other.
A millennia before, humans were the weakest creature in strength and had poor ability to control mana and thus were mostly slaves to other species. But it all changed when they were blessed by God and given Reviah to live on. Since then they had continued to thrive and had made place for themselves in this new world.
Because of this change they are called new humans by others.
Four humans were chosen by God to help other humans free themselves from slavery and these were called the first heroes. They would go on to establish their own kingdoms. These were always engage in war with each other in order to expand their powers and currently Isiah and Cantiville were engaged in war with Cantiville leading victories on many fronts. Their tactics had proven real effective causing Isiah to lose few villages and cities to Cantiville.
In the capital city of Isiah, Ushier, a war council was being to discuss counter strategies. The meeting was attending by commanders and archmage Darla.
"Our forces have intercepted a small force of enemy in the village of WhiteMoon", said officer Anges.
"WhiteMoon that lies near the Gange mountain?", asked Vice-Captain Geralt Stroutfeld.
"Yes sir!", replied the officer in response.
"So, what is our plan now?", asked Captain Liam Metor. Liam was a calm guy who would weigh his options before riding in the battle making his battalion the most effective in doing raids.
"We should continue marching along the Gange mountain and establish a post near high point BR023. The location gives us height advantage and is perfect for setting up ambush as well watching any enemy movement.", said Vice-Captain Charlotte Mayfield.
Charlotte Mayfield being a genius tactician had already made few plans in her mind. Her tactics were unprincipled but greatly effective due to which she was quickly promoted to the ranks of Vice-Captain. She was what everyone would say Beauty with Brain.
"What is your opinion, Archmage Darla?", asked Captain Liam. Sitting on the far corner of the round desk was a beautiful woman wearing a purple one piece dress and a long designer hat with a dahlia flower in it.
Archmage was the highest title a mage can attain currently and a kingdom's strength was reflected in how many archmages lived there. Darla Fleur was on of the three archmages that lived in Isiah and was summoned for the war council. Her expression showed disinterest and the reason for Captain Liam's question.
"I don't know. If you want I can go to the battle and clear the area, Captain Liam", replied Darla while pointing towards her staff which suddenly glowed red.
"It is not necessary, Miss Darla. I was asking if you had something that can help us.", Liam said with a you know expression.
Putting her fingers to hear forehead and faking thinking, "You want hmmm.. a magic totem, no, a magic spell, or maybe a magic scroll".
"I certainly have one spell scroll. But. . ", now was the time for to play.
"But what?", asked captain Liam.
"But I need something in return", replied Darla.
"At a time when the kingdom needs your service, you are being selfish.", said Vice-Captain Charlotte with a cold expression.
"Kingdom has its needs and so do I", said Darla with a not caring about your values expression.
"You.."
"It is okay Charlotte". Everyone turned their attention to the man who just entered the room.
"Your Majesty..", said Liam, immediately standing and greeting.
Entered the 22nd ruler to the throne of Isiah, William Medraut Isiah, a handsome man with a mysterious charm, in his mid thirties. William inherited the throne at a young age of 15 and since then had strongly ruled it. He was a social, responsible and a great leader. Under his leadership, the kingdom saw many wars and victories against enemies. His goal was to unify the whole continent.
"I will listen to your demands, Archmage Darla and comply with them if I can". After gesturing everyone to sit down, "Tell me what is it you desire?".
"It is something that the second prince owns currently"
"Oh, I see! You must be referring to that which I presented to him on his 3rd birthday."
"Yes your majesty, that is what I desire."
"I can't say yes as it is not under my ownership. But I can talk to the prince, the fruits of which lies in what your scroll can offer".
"It is something that can turn the tide of the battle, details of which I can't tell in presence of everybody".
Ordering everyone except the archmage and captain Liam to leave. Discussion regarding the scroll and upcoming strategies went for two more hours.
One week later, the news of Isiah kingdom turning the tide of the wars and coming out victorious was spread among the masses and a large banquet was held in the royal capital.
