Fugaku waved his hand dismissively. "Think nothing of it. You are a promising young shinobi. It's only right to nurture you."
Fugaku had certainly thought so. This young man had a bright future ahead of him with his mastery of spatial ninjutsu. If he could assist in altering this young man's life trajectory, he could become a significant asset to the Uchiha clan.
However, Fugaku's words have surprised Obito. The clan head referred to him as a promising shinobi. Wasn't he always at the last of the talent ladder?
"Thank you for your kind words, clan head. I will endeavor to do my best." Obito was moved to tears and bowed once more, almost crawling to embrace Fugaku's thigh.
Mikoto glanced at Obito and smiled. "Let's eat before the food gets cold. It won't taste as good later," she suggested.
Obito nodded eagerly, his attention diverted to the various dishes on the table. Not only were they unfamiliar to him, but their enticing aroma made him realize how hungry he truly was.
"I'll be staying at home, so you can visit me anytime after your training with Minato." Mikoto added, making Obito feel even more grateful. He nodded again, unable to express his appreciation with words.
"Fugaku, Fugaku..." The loud knocking on the door and the direct call of his name made it clear to Fugaku who the visitor was.
Obito, having paid his respects to his master, was quick to his offer assistance to open the door.
He returned with a young man, whom Fugaku recognized and said with a smile. "Akihiko, you came at the right time; let's have a meal together. Obito, please grab a couple of bowls and chopsticks from the kitchen." Obito nodded and quickly retrieved the items.
"Are you sure you should be eating this time?" Akihiko exclaimed, but his anger dissipated when he saw Mikoto's big belly and suppressed his frustration.
Mikoto gave him a smile and said, "Sit down, Akihiko."
Fugaku was aware of the reason for his visit, but he didn't seem to be in a hurry. Everyone had a different mood during the meal. Obito ate with enthusiasm, Mikoto ate with happy mood, Akihiko ate with gloom-mood, and only Fugaku ate with indifference
After they finished, Obito volunteered to wash the dishes, making Fugaku sigh. This kid had a promising future. Mikoto went to rest, Obito went to clean, and Akihiko dragged Fugaku to the garden.
Akihiko asked in disbelief: "What the hell are you doing?"
"Huh? What's wrong ?"
Akihiko asked in a low voice: "I heard that you volunteered our clan to defend the border of Konoha against the sand ninjas."
"Yes, what's the problem?"
"What else is the problem?" Akihiko looked a bit anxious, but he still suppressed his voice: "Don't tell me you don't know about the conflict between our clan and the Konoha top?"
"Of course I know.
"You know, and you agreed without saying anything?" Akihiko ask with frustration, "This is obviously a scheme to weaken the Uchiha's power. And that's not all, Hiruzen offered you five thousand ninja as a reserve, but you only took two thousand."
Fugaku smiled and said, "Is that all? Akihiko, do you trust me?"
"I..." Akihiko hesitated, then said : "Of course I trust you, but the clan..."
"I've been handling things for you while you were away for half a year. Many clan members are unhappy with you; they even want"
"They even want me to step down as clan leader?" Fugaku said it with a confident smile. He had never felt this confident before. It took him six months of battle to hone this newfound strength. Akihiko stared at Fugaku and felt a bit baffled for a moment.
He slowly drew a map from his arm and pointed to a spot on it: "Can you gather all the Uchiha clan members who have combat ability in Konoha to this position? It's time to pretend. Oh! i mean time to explain to everyone."
Akihiko sighed in relief when he saw Fugaku's serious face and the map in his hand. This guy finally became trustworthy. He didn't say anything else. He grabbed the map and vanished with a body flicker technique.
Fugaku turned around helplessly. He walked into the house and saw Obito washing dishes and chatting with Mikoto with a smile. He felt like fate was joking with him. This feeling was odd.
This kid, Obito—is he really one of last boss?
"Obito, aren't you supposed to go train with Minato today?"
Obito quickly turned around and said, "Clan head. Minato-sensei has something to do today, so he gave us a day off."
"I see. Then come with me."
"Yes."
As Fugaku asked. He changed his clothes. He told Mikoto two things and then told Obito go to towards that empty field.
Fugaku had been in Konoha for three months and had not held any meetings for the Uchiha clan due to his unfamiliarity with many things. He knew that the Uchiha clan was destined to be proud and difficult to tame, just like the original Uchiha Fugaku, who had opened Mangekyou Sharingan's eyes and led the clan's rebellion.
To seek peace within before, then seek peace with others, Fugaku decided to follow in a great man's footsteps and begin today with his plan: gather the Uchiha clan members with combat power together. They will learn and grow together, and Fugaku hopes to lead them towards a peaceful future.
