"How can I help you?"

Fugaku asked with curiosity. He knew that Might duy wanted to consult him about something serious.

"Well… My son has surpassed me in taijutsu. Do you think I should teach him the Eight Gates now?" duy asked.

He was surprised, and Guy hasn't learned the Eight Gates yet.

But why did duy ask for my advice? Was it a good thing to pass on his justu to his son?

"Uh... how old is your son?" Fugaku asked.

"Nine years old," duy answered.

Why not? He almost advised him in the affirmative, but then he remembered that he was going to be a father soon and that he should think from a father's perspective.

"Nine years old is too young, don't you think? Why do you want to teach him the Eight Gates now?"

duy was silent for a while, then he said, "Fugaku-sama, you are going to be a father soon; I think you can understand.

As a father, being surpassed by your nine-year-old son is embarrassing. I have nothing else to teach him, only this......"

duy felt hopeless. He had trained all his life as a ninja, but he only mastered taijutsu. He was ashamed of his lack of talent, and he saw the disappointment in his son's eyes.

His son, who had surpassed him at the age of nine and who had to endure the mockery of his peers,

duy tried to keep a positive attitude, but he couldn't hide his sadness when he was alone. He thought he had to be strong because he was a man.

"You are a great father..." Fugaku said it earnestly. He gave duy a friendly squeeze on his shoulder and moved on. He added over his shoulder, "Don't let others' opinions bother you; I, Uchiha Fugaku, admire you.

Wait until your son is a chunin, then you can train him. Now it's too soon.".

He really meant it. Others may have looked down on Might duy because they were ignorant. How versatile is the Eight Gates taijutsu? duy spent twenty years studying and mastering it, no matter how hard it was.

It might be possible for some to misunderstand that the Eight Gates were created by the Second Hokage.

The Second Hokage mostly developed forbidden jutsu because ninjutsu was the main way of fighting in this world.

As a genius who invented ninjutsu, why would he bother to create a forbidden taijutsu? He wasn't stupid. Did anyone hear he was famous for his taijutsu?

Besides, Lee learned to open five gates in two years. Could duy only open eight gates in twenty years? That was not a realistic estimate.

Fugaku respected the eight-gate taijutsu's creator, duy. It was a worthy achievement in his eyes.

Might duy sobbed as he saw Fugaku walk away. His nose and tears ran together.

He couldn't utter a word for some time. He had received recognition from the head of the Uchiha clan. He felt that it was all worth it.

He remembered the afternoon when he sprinted under the sunset. This is youth. Ah, spit!

Konoha Hospital.

The hospital was busy with people coming and going, but most of them were civilians. It was a time of peace, and there were no injured ninjas here.

In a special care ward, he looked at Mikoto on the bed. She had fallen asleep, and he felt different kinds of emotions.

He had never married this woman, but he had slept with her. Now he was going to have a son? This was more amazing than a miracle, more surreal than a dream.

He thought of his parents in another world. He wondered how they were doing.

"Why are you here?" Mikoto asked, and her voice felt weak and sleepy. She was about to give birth, and her reaction was quite slow.

That was unusual for her. He had been in the room for a long time before she noticed him.

"I came to see you…"

"Hehe, what's there to see? Haven't you seen enough of me?" She joked with a smile.

"Never enough…"

He looked at her smile and felt sad. He wanted to tell her that he had to leave for the border tomorrow, but he couldn't bring himself to say it.

He knew his wife would worry about him going to war. He didn't want to stress her out when she was pregnant. He cared about her and their unborn child more than anything.

Becoming a father had made him a different man.

He pondered if this was how the war-state period ninja must have felt when they went to war, leaving behind their wives and children with no hope of seeing them again.

Some of them never returned, and their families suffered the loss of a father or a son. He smiled bitterly at the thought of such a cruel fate.

But he was not going to let that happen to his family. He held Mikoto's hand and talked to her until she fell asleep. Then he lay down beside her and slept until dawn.

--------------------------------------------------------

Mikoto's scream in pain woke him up. He saw her in agony and ran to get the doctor. The medical staff came quickly and took her to the operating room on a stretcher.

"Fugaku-sama, please stay here. This is the delivery room." They stopped him politely from following them.

He realized that his child was about to be born today.

"Fugaku..." Akihiko came to find him in the hospital. "I knew you were here."

"What's wrong?" he asked him in confusion.

"What's wrong? Did you forget? Everyone is waiting for you at the village gate. We have to leave now... How can you ask what's wrong?" Akihiko asks him rhetorically.

"Ah? Really..." he remembered that he needed to go border. "But my child is about to be born. Can't they wait for a while?"

"When did she go in?"

"Just now."

"What... Damn it, you bastard, are you joking with me?" Akihiko's face darkened. and he pulled Fugaku away.

This was not a time for sentimentality. Hundreds of clansmen lives were at stake on the front line.

He couldn't afford to waste time and wait for his child to be born. Who knew how long that would take? Sometimes it took half a day or more.

"Wait a minute. I have to leave a message for Mikoto. I can't just leave her like this!"

He quickly broke free from Akihiko's hold, grabbed a piece of paper and a pen, and wrote a message. Akihiko didn't stop him this time.

"Please give this to Mikoto when she comes out." Fugaku folded the paper and handed it to a female staff member.

"Of course, Fugaku-sama." The staff member nodded politely.
