Chapter 22: Collision of Power: Nacht's Fierce Battle Against Heroes

"Big words for a little pup like you," Musclehead said as he crouched before jumping. The ground beneath his feet cracked as he reached Nacht almost instantaneously, but he had made a big mistake.

The speed at which he had arrived at Nacht was truly astonishing, but he was now in the air, and his ability, which was a physical enhancement, didn't allow him to maneuver in the air at all. Nacht smirked as he used his strings to move away before suddenly creating a large, ethereal, red blade.

Nacht swung it toward Musclehead who smirked before suddenly opening his arms wide and then swinging both at Nacht. The gauntlets he wore hit one another and a bright blue light came from them as a shockwave was created.

The shockwave hit Nacht, sending him flying for meters behind, even his strings had trouble pulling him back and extended considerably as Nacht had made them act similar to rubber at this point. If the strings were coarse and stiff, he would have been hurt, so he needed to cushion the attack before coming back, which he did.

Right as the force from the shockwave had ended, and Musclehead was falling to the ground, Nacht launched himself toward him with the use of the strings that had acted in a similar fashion to a spring, propelling him forward with incredible speed, even allowing him to dodge another ray that the shooter had shot at him.

Nacht swung the giant sword down at Musclehead and the latter defended with the gauntlets. He was sent crashing down to the ground, but that wasn't all.

"You're dead meat, you bald bastard!" Nacht laughed as he lifted two fingers and multiple red spikes appeared on the ground. His sword, however, as well as the strings, were gone.

"So this is his limit, quite astonishing to be honest, he can create a lot more things than I initially thought he could."

"Without doing what I had told him, he could have definitely used his ability to fight Musclehead more proficiently, and he might have been able to injure the bald bastard at this point," I said as I typed in my findings in a document on my pc.

As a handler, it was my job to not only help the villain out but also keep tabs on him, and find out his weaknesses and strengths in order to be able to guide the villain more proficiently. Of course, the agency also has full access to my notes, and they use it to track the progress of the villains and to see which ones show promise or not.

The other reason is also to be able to eliminate any villain that might go against them in the future.

One can leave the agency, but they needed to pay the agency back for everything that the agency had supplied. If one was to try and go against the agency, as some lunatics did, they would be taken care of faster than one could blink.

Multiple cases where highly ranked villains suddenly attacked another villain and killed him were noted in the agency's history.

I also started writing more detailed notes.

"The villain shows an above average control over his ability and can utilize it proficiently."

"The limits of the ability are currently unknown, more testing is required to find that out."

"The physical strength of the villain is unknown, the villain can use his ability to enhance himself, giving him more strength, speed, flexibility … "

I continued looking at the screen and following the fight while writing. Nacht was doing quite well against his enemies.

Musclehead unfortunately wasn't injured in the slightest by the spikes as he had stomped down on them, and the power boots he wore allowed him to exert a great amount of strength, breaking the spikes immediately and forcing the ground to cave in by almost half a meter.

The shooter continued doing what it did, shooting, and I could see that Nacht was getting more and more annoyed by it.

He didn't seem to have anything that could help him locate and attack the shooter, which was a bit weird. He had used his ability to create a clone right next to me the first time we met, but he did need to have his eyes on the area to create a clone there, and since that used a lot of power, he couldn't do it now.

"Hey, do you think you can move one of the cameras around, and send it toward the shooter?" I asked Nacht, but gained no response. He was in complete battle mode right now and wasn't even listening to me.

He flew down at Musclehead and slammed his knee on the hero's head. Right after that, Musclehead grabbed his leg and slammed him down to the ground before letting him go as a sharp spear suddenly stabbed his arm, almost penetrating through it completely.

Nacht had to constantly move thanks to the shooter as the rays didn't stop being fired. They were actually becoming more and more frequent as the battle continued, which was a weird thing to happen.

There is no way the enemy is simply using a weapon that had no drawback, he had to be using extremely expensive ammo, his own power, or perhaps a small type of a generator or power core that the weapon has, but such weapons were extremely expensive and not anybody could use them thanks to the incredible force they possessed.

The enemy shooter was quite good, his shots were precise and if a normal B-grade was his opponent, he would be in a world of trouble. Unfortunately, the one the two were facing right now was a new C-grade villain that was almost as strong as an A-grade, so these two wouldn't be enough to take him down, at least that's what I hope.

I continued spectating the fight.

Nacht had already gained an upper hand against Musclehead, and if not for the constant annoyance he faced from the sniper, he would have perhaps even beaten the bastard by now. I had hoped that this would continue like this for a while, but of course, things changed.

Another hero appeared, and this one was also a B-grade hero.

Wearing a formal suit, the hero appeared on a building right next to Nacht and Musclehead, and thankfully, I had been able to alert Nacht on time.

He didn't listen to me, but upon shouting and telling him about one more enemy near, he quickly glanced at where I told him the hero was, which was enough to let me know he heard and acknowledged my words.

'Good, he can still hear me while focusing completely on the fight.' I exhaled before stretching a bit.

The hero was spectating the battle for now and wasn't jumping in at all, which made me nervous, especially when he lifted his suitcase and opened it. He took out a sword, one that he quickly assembled on the spot.

It was about 2 meters long, about 15cm thick, and seemed to weigh nothing upon looking at how easily the man was holding it with one hand, but the gray light that was flickering on the edges of the blade made me realize quickly that it wasn't a normal sword.

"Dammit, Nacht, he has a power blade, I repeat, the new hero has a power blade!"

"It's time to start with the plan, we have prepared for this, and if you do it now, you might be able to kill both Musclehead and the new guy, unfortunately, the sniper is out of our reach right now!"

Nacht clicked his tongue in frustration as he kicked Musclehead before jumping above him and kicking down at his head, only to be blocked by the gauntlets that started shining again.

"Yeah, I get it, time to finish this." Nacht softly said as he smirked at the hero.

He quickly jumped back before lifting his arm and snapping his finger. Right as he did that, a ray was shot, hitting his hand and melting almost all of it.

"Fuck, you damn bastard!" Nacht said with rage as Musclehead suddenly charged at him, only to stumble as the ground started shaking.

Multiple explosions took place in the buildings around them. The building on which the man in the suit had been standing collapsed from the explosion as the hero stared with his eyes wide open at the sight before falling down with the debris.

As for Musclehead, he quickly put his arms up and covered his head while using his powers to the max, as well as the gauntlets.

Nacht, on the other hand, was staring at him as he created a semi-sphere that went from his waist up, covering his upper body and shielding him from the debris before charging forward.

"Hey, Nacht, what are you doing?!" I shouted in concern.

"Remember the plan, let the debris and explosion take care of them, then you can go in and deal the finishing blow, the cloud of dust will be enough to shield you from the shooter's sight, this is not needed, you're just placing yourself in more danger!"

Nacht didn't listen, however, and attacked Musclehead.
