Chapter 5: Clone Evolution: Use Dung beetle
Standing before some commercial building, the address that he had given out, Chang Shen seemed to be moving towards the entrance. He was here to pick up the Dung Beetle, after all, it concerned his clone and he had some ideas but all this would have to wait until it evolved for him to be able to see if his thoughts could really be realized.
Just like everyone, he was thinking too beautifully at the moment, wanting to see the impact of the evolution on him. As he moved into the place, he still had some surgical mask on his face. He did not want to run into someone from work, basically, he wanted to avoid too much drama. It was not like he had friends, from that place, after all, everyone was trying to climb up at the expense of others.
The good thing was that after entry, he discovered the delivery guy dressed in some motorbike suit, and in less than ten minutes they completed the transactions after he confirmed the goods were okay. Indeed, he bought a live Dung Beetle and it seemed to resemble the pictures he saw on the internet.
When he went back home, he did not forget to do some more shopping and after that, he locked himself in the house. Just like that, the night arrived and he was holding the dung beetle in hand, as it struggled lightly, he then went ahead and threw it into the water tank. He went to bed and after that, his consciousness entered the fish. By controlling it, he moved toward the beetle and kept trying to reach it several times before eventually succeeding.
The moment the fish swallowed the beetle, it moved to the surface of the water and stopped moving. More than that, he seemed to see the option to evolve appearing and after he accepted it, some process seemed to have started in the body of the fish. His consciousness could feel some force slowly working on the fish and it seemed to originate from the beetle he had swallowed. The force spread outwards towards the whole fish, and it was forced to move around in the tank.
The fluctuations seemed to be slowly altering the fish, and they started from the bones and then the entire body and the outer scales on the fish seem to become slightly thicker, and that was the only thing he could perceive other than the extra wing-shaped fins.
The previous scales seemed to have been shed, and fallen to the bottom of the tank, as the color of the fish turned darker. The white at the very edge of the fins did not change thought, rather seemed more easy to notice at the moment. The fish moved in the water and headed to the bottom to try out and see if he had gained some unique ability of the Dung beetle. But it was at this moment he realized that he did not need to go through all this when the attribute panel seemed to exist.

When he observed the ability he had gained, he seemed to be somewhat elated, but he was at a loss because he did not seem to have gained anything when it came to his body. But that was also unrealistic to expect the body to have the ability to inherit the ability from the clone. Besides, the clone was too weak at the moment to even affect him in any way.
He was not that discouraged though because he seemed to see that his physique was slightly better than the day he came from the hospital and increased by 0.2. Even though this change was not worth mentioning, he was sure that with enough exercise he could be able to meet the normal person's standard in no time. The only thing that he was supposed to be more concerned about was how much impact he would have and the means to implement it.
As he was lost in thought, his consciousness seemed to come back to his body. He then woke up and could not sleep as such he moved towards the desktop and the first thing he saw was the taichi-like symbol and this seemed to have reminded him of something.
"The best way to recover is to have some actual activity that would engage the entire body other than the morning runs. I can't use sports since my situation is already very poor, but there are usually some tricks referred to as traditional health preservation methods. Since I have the attribute panel, I can get some herbal means or other methods available out there." As he thought of this he typed <Traditional Health Preservation Methods> and the list he got was long and he wrote them all down.
At the moment he was checking through the viable options and he saw all the ones that could be tried, including medical baths and all that. The thing that had him was the "Health Qigong Wu Qin Xi" which seemed to have some description and even some videos of old men doing it. From the moment he saw it, he could read that it is very effective in retaining youth.
To a person like him that has a panel, it was not something he would let go of, and thus he opened the first video about it and started to view it. After it was over, he searched another and then another, and the whole night, he seemed to be looking through videos until it was dawn.
The only thing that had him stop was the fact that he was too tired, as such he ended up going to sleep. By the time he woke up, it was already about noon. On his phone, he could see endless missed calls and he knew they were from the people he did not want to talk to, and more than just that, the other colleagues.
But it seemed that the boss had stopped contacting him and what he did not know was that the boss had someone find out about him. Since he did not seem to have appeared in the workplace, the cunning thing seemed to not be concerned but, interested in getting even until he learned Cheng Shan went to the hospital and even stayed for a day. The thing that had the man unwilling to continue to make contact was that he was afraid of having to pay some medical fees, and thus a message seemed to have reached the desktop at the moment and he could see some red envelope on the phone screen.
Moving towards the desktop, he saw the email from the office and he was not shocked, the contract seemed to be not under renewal and the reason for it, and the message made a lot of reasons, which he did not put much thought into it. He was just slightly disappointed, and thought, "Indeed! Nothing matters more than one's own life, even a job can replace you in an instant."
He did have some moments of clarity and closed the page, before going back to watching the five animal boxing, which is rumored to have some better effect on the body. He did not go around exercising and thus started to copy the way the individuals on the internet videos were practicing.
In about ten minutes of preserving, his body seemed to have been exhausted, but this proved more effective even though he barely managed to finish the whole set.
He then went near the fish feed, and threw some into the tank, before switching his consciousness. He consumed the food and unlike before, it seemed inadequate. In this way, he was sure that evolution seemed to have changed the fish. The bigger the appetite was part of the reason to believe this.
