Chapter 3: Leaving the hospital

No one could understand the emotions that Chang Shen was going through at this moment other than himself that was especially after he saw the attribute, and his heart seemed to accelerate in an exaggerated manner. This was all reflected on the monitor and the alarm did not go off because it was still showing he was in a stable state.

Erima Street, MingHue Building 3rd floor office space.

A man with a gloomy face was sitting in a comfortable office chair and his phone was showing outgoing calls, but no one on the other side seemed to be answering and the face was becoming gloomier by the minute.

"Damn Cheng Shan, you are just a contract employee and are still putting on airs, forgetting that your contract is already over. Wait until this project is submitted, you are not going to get a chance to even renew the contract let alone that promotion you are deceiving yourself about." The man growled and the secretary on the opposite side seemed to hear this but did not dare lift her head. She was however feeling pity for the stupid man that seemed to have put her boss in this state. The contract renewal thing, indeed was a killer as it made it such that one could be dealt with at the end of the contract and their was nothing one could do legally.

11.35 am.

In the hospital, Chang Shen seemed to open his eyes when he heard some movement and he could see some lady in white approaching. This was the so-called doctor, and seeing that she was slightly older than him, he already developed some assumptions in his mind which were true, she was a practicing doctor.

But that was not his main concern, as he wanted to hear some important issues such as when he would be able to get out of the hospital and everything else was not that useful to him. But he calmed down and looked at the doctor that was approaching his bed silently. When she arrived, she took the chart from the end of the bed, and could see the man was looking at her actions quietly. When she shifted her attention back to the chart, she seemed to be talking to herself.

"This one seems like also another one that does not take their life that seriously." These words perhaps were said by her intentionally or not, but Cheng Shan did not seem to even have a change in expression. Normal people would have a reaction such as anger for someone talking about them but in this case, he just looked at her actions without any fluctuations.

Her life and mouth were on her, and he would not bother with anyone saying what they want, after all, there was nothing they do, this was the reality.

"When can I be released?" A voice that came from the side seemed to be from Cheng Sang.

Hearing the question, the woman in a doctor's coat looked at Chang Shen with some scrutiny in her eyes but in the end, she did not say what she was thinking, and he managed to see it. But he also did not care about her thinking at all and heard her say, "You can leave once the medical bill has been settled." When she said this she shook her head secretly, obviously dissatisfied with this man. The reason for mentioning the medical fee was that she could guess the reason for wanting to leave the hospital. In her view, the person did not even put his health as a priority, and looking at the medical chart she had taken from the back of his bed, he was in a very bad place.

In the end, she did not seem to have any business meddling and could only mention this, but what she failed to realize was that more than what she had mentioned was the reason for his need to leave this place. He felt uncomfortable in such an environment as it seemed to be reminding him even more that his life was running out. Only when he left would he feel better, and at the same time he had a new motivation. With his eyes closed, he could see the panel appearing before him.

This was something new and exciting at the same time, and he was wondering what he could do with it, but the moment he was in this place thus he had to calm down.

The only thing that was consistent was the vibration of his phone and he was forced to turn it off. But his actions were making someone else angry that they could burst at any moment. He could not even rest as he had thought in this place as such he started to observe the people all around and to his surprise there were barely people his age in this place. "It seems that I might have been the one that lived their life in a bad way." That was just a fleeting thought that passed through his mind.

Moreover, he could indeed already see that this place was indeed not suitable for him to stay too long as he seemed too out of place. He did not rush to leave though, he was going to rest for close to an hour before going through the discharge process and the same time look through the attribute panel when he reached home. He preferred to not put himself in some unknown situation, especially in public and during the day.

He could hear the sound of ambulances on the outside, but that did not stop him from extending some quality nap, and by the time he woke up, it seemed that he had overslept. It was two hours late compared to the time he had set for himself. "This body is too weak compared to normal people. I have been so involved in making other people wealthy to the point of even overlooking my own health. It seems that in the future we are not going to work in a company anymore, the hustle is not worth it at all." As Cheng Shan opened his eyes he could see that the sun was indeed shining brightly on the outside. He stood up, with some difficulty as his entire body seemed numb from sleeping too much.

The moment he stood up, he pulled off the drip on the arm, as for the others that were monitoring him, they fell off easily. He then moved on with the procedure of being released, it was also that way that he managed to get his clothes back. Checking the medical bill paid for staying in the hospital, he seemed to have no change in expression. Perhaps in the past, he would indeed have an issue, but at this moment he had more important things to do, and besides, the money was still manageable.

When he walked out of the hospital, he could see the entire area made of unique tiles except for the roads, this made him sigh. He probably has never put notes on things like this because all the time he was wondering about one thing or another.

"Sigh! I indeed gave my life for that work, thinking about it now, it was not that worth it." As he walked away, his mood seemed to have changed. The constant notifications that seemed to be entering his phone from the moment he switched it on, were also within his notice but he did nothing about it.
