Chapter 3: Visions of Past and Present
"moonshine" elysia muttered as she waved her arms slowly there was a mild flash of blue light and something that looked like pollen began to spread all around the room, it seemed to illuminate everything I touched, but when it came in contact with his body it simply passed through.
"What did you discover" caelia asked her friend
"I must have been mistaken for a moment but I seemed to sense a strange but familiar presence here, I actually thought that it might have been a mercenary from the kingdom of askabar or a member of the cult of osthronos. Things have been getting very intense these days and I feel like something we don't understand is now at play, we must keep our guard up at all times" elysia stated plainly
"whatever it is, I just need to protect my child and ensure none of this gets to it" caelia said with a smile while rubbing her enlarged belly
"Have you decided on a name for the baby yet?" elysia asked
"Not yet, when the baby is born, we would cross that bridge. have you decided on a name for yours yet" caelia asked her friend
Renjiro had already gotten bored of their conversation and walked out of the room without bothering to listen to Elysia's reply.
"All the women here are so beautiful; in the short time I have been in this place I have seen more beautiful women than I did in my previous twenty three years of existence" he mused to himself.
space stretched again and he found himself in a large room, he was startled by what sounded like the shrieks of a woman in agony, he moved through the veils separating the room from the inner chamber and saw that it was caelia who was shrieking and she seemed to be in the process of child bearing, there were beads of sweats all over her face and she looked very pale, like she had lost lots of blood.
He reached out his hand to touch her face, and found himself in an open field with lots of flowers blossoming, he saw a white haired boy giggling while running around the field and a blue haired little girl chasing after him with a stick, he moved to touch the young boy as he ran past him and found himself in a white room with a lot of equipment and he saw the same boy with white hair but this time the boy seemed to have aged a few years, the room he was in seemed to be a laboratory of some sort.
There were seeds immersed in different liquids in test tubes and a few fruits scattered on tables there were also equipment that looked like microscopes, and other equipment he could not recognize, a woman wearing a lab coat and a pair of round glasses stood behind the white haired boy instructing him on what to do. The boy seemed to be experiencing some difficulty executing the instructions given to him, the woman waved her hand and a mild green light shone around her hand, one of the seeds inside the test tube began to sprout at an accelerated rate, before he could see the end result he was once again transported to another location.
This time he found himself in large room with many shelves of weapons, he saw the white haired boy, this time he looked to be about ten kneeling and trying to support himself with a practice sword, he had welts all over his arms, the blue haired girl stood about a few feet away from him with a maniacal smile on her face.
"you are making it too easy for me you weak bastard, get up and fight" the blue haired girl screeched before charging again, she continued to batter him with her sword till a burly dark haired man came between them and interrupted the one sided beating.
The white haired boy stood and wiped his nose while glaring at the girl, "it's not that serious, did you have to go all out?" he asked angrily
"yes I have, if it is going to make you get stronger. I don't understand why you are so weak compared to the rest of us, how would you defend yourself if I am not there to protect you" she replied while walking away
The burly dark haired man offered his hand to the white haired boy, he took it and they walked out of the room.
"I do not understand why I am being shown all this but it seems to be the life of the boy with white hair" Renjiro mused to himself.
Space stretched once again and snapped and he found himself in another large room with a dining table set in the middle, on the dining table were different fruits, some of which he could identify from his previous life on earth and others that he couldn't identify, at the end of the table on a large gold tray there was a roasted animal upon closer inspection, he found out that it seemed to be a cross between a pig and a chicken, it had the head of a chicken and the body of a boar.
There were other plates that contained things that looked like cooked peas, while he was still moving through the table trying to get an idea of the dishes that were served, he heard the shuffling of feet and clinking of armor, he turned around and saw the beautiful white haired woman walking into the room gracefully, she wore a white robe and had some parts of her hair braided.
"lady caelia" one of the guards announced while bowing, she smiled and communicated with a few of the servants before continuing to seat down
"where is my baby boy" she asked
At that moment the white haired boy barged into the room with a frown on his face, caelia stood up from her chair and appeared in front of the boy in a flash.
"Zephyrus! What is wrong?" she asked and grabbed him to her bosoms, Zephyrus struggled and managed to escape caelia's grasp
"mother please I have asked you to stop doing this, I'm hungry and I would like to eat immediately" zephyrus said and went to seat down.
"so that is his name" Renjiro thought to himself and space warped again
