Chapter 2: Chapter 1 Kidnapped
Megan"! she rushed into the nursery, the baby's crib was empty infarct the whole house was empty. Suddenly her phone started ringing, with shaky hands she answered the phone .
"Hello who is this", a deep male voice answered. "You don't need to know who this is but if you want to see your baby again you better follow my instructions to the letter and do not I repeat do not involve the police ".
Clarisse wasn't a pushover but at the moment she would do anything for her baby. "I don't know who you are and what you want from me but I would do anything to get my child back, what do want from me? She asked. "Good just as I expected. Now I want you to take your car and drive downtown portharcourt towards second Artillary". "When you get there leave your car by the bus stand I will meet you there and from there we're off to see your precious baby try anything funny and it's bye bye to your child forever have I made my self clear". Her eyes were beginning to sting but she wouldn't she couldn't allow her self to weaken. She needed to be strong for her daughter. She suddenly thought of her caretaker,as if reading her mind he said mockingly
"Miss Chika your family does know her to make a lot of enemies". "Your child's caretaker has been working for me all along ". His tone once again serious "I'll be waiting and for your info am watching, you try anything funny and she's gone". Clarisse couldn't take it anymore." How dare you, you bastard, what do you want huh is it money? I will give you any amount you ask for just give me back my baby girl" she said crying now. The man on the other side of the phone exploded "you think everything is about money I don't need your damn money"! Gaining control of himself
"You better get moving and don't try to leave any secret message behind, to tell you I mean business you're standing in your baby's nursery putting on a pink suit looking very pale". "I don't know why you are doing this but I will do as you say ".
She switched off her phone started the vehicle and drove towards second Artillary. Where she got there she parked her car beside the bus stand as the man had instructed and waited .
A man suddenly taps on the window of the driver's seat and gestures for her to open the car door. He was average in height, wore a baseball cap that covered his face. As soon as she opened the car door he made as if to get into the car with her. "Who are you what you doing ". She felt something metallic pressed to
her side she looks down to see a gun, she gasped and almost screamed, the man put a finger to his lips "shu, move over my orders were to drive you to the destination but any wrong move from you I'll blow your brains out. Am I understood " She nodded her head utterly terrified . He drove for a long time and soon they were in the outskirts of Porthacourt which was very lonely . They drove for a long time in silence which gave her time to think. She tried to memorize landmarks or signboards to help her remember when she made her escape with her child . They had been driving for 3 hours now and when she thought he would never stop he pulled over in front of a magnificent building that was in the middle of nowhere, no houses were in sight for miles as far as her eyes could see. Escaping wasn't going to be easy.
The first thought she had upon pulling up in front of the house was that her kidnapped hadn't been lying when said he didn't need her money .
Then what would someone who owned such a house and was obviously rich gain by kidnapping her. The gate opened and he drove in .
The house looked empty except for the lights that showed inhabitation, she inhaled a sharp breath and got out of the car with the man in tow walking towards the door she asked the gang member beside her.
" Where's your boss I don't see anyone around ?" "He's inside and I assure you he wants to meet you as badly as you do ". Clarisse didn't know what to expect. Who was this man and what did he want from her. Something or rather someone caught her eye as she turned and saw someone coming from behind her. She froze where she stood, she must be dreaming. The man walking towards her was supposed to be dead and here he was walking towards her.
