Chapter 18: Meeting 2

Gotham City; March 8th; 10:00 EDT

After a day of fun and hanging out with her friends, she was finally free. She eagerly anticipated tonight's hunt, knowing that it would be a significant one. This wasn't just any ordinary drug business she was targeting—it belonged to the infamous Penguin.

Although she had been taking down gangs and individuals for the past 4 to 5 months, she had yet to enter the realm of the big players. Today, however, she was ready to step into the major leagues and gain more recognition. Perhaps even catch the attention of Batman, as she sensed the plot thickening.

Nightfall arrived, and she gathered all the weapons and trinkets she had collected over the past few months. These were the tools she relied on in her current endeavors.

First, there was her beloved sword. Although she cherished it, she rarely had the opportunity to use it. She had only wielded it a couple of times, like when she was under fire and sliced through bullets. She found satisfaction in demonstrating her vampiric powers by effortlessly cutting them with her sword—simply for the thrill of it.

Beside the sword lay a set of knives. She had gone a bit overboard, purchasing 500 of them. While they cost significantly more than her sword, she was pleased with her decision. With her telekinesis, she could turn these small knives into a formidable weapon, making it a nightmare for anyone to face her. They were incredibly powerful, unpredictable, and compensated for any lack of technique or skill on her part. In battle, she could dominate the field and cause serious harm, even to the most trained opponents. The sight of 500 levitating knives closing in on her enemies was a spectacle to behold.

Among her belongings were two masks of different styles—a full mask and a half mask. Although she possessed the ability to shape-shift, altering her appearance, including her face and gender, she wasn't yet proficient enough to change her gender completely. So, for now, she utilized the masks as an additional element of disguise and intimidation.

Once everything was prepared, she retreated into the shadows, donning her black and red attire. Her new clothes, acquired with the money she earned from her nocturnal exploits, enhanced her combat readiness. She was now fully equipped to face whatever awaited her tonight.

Transforming into a bat, she glided silently through the night sky, avoiding detection. Her destination was Gotham's dockyard, where a significant drug shipment from Brazil was scheduled for delivery to Penguin's gang.

Perched atop a tall tower, she checked the time on her small clock, hidden within the folds of her cloak. She still had some time before the criminal activities of the night began, and she eagerly awaited the opportune moment, her vampiric eyes scanning the surroundings, invisible to all.

Meanwhile, Batman had conducted his research and arrived at the dockyard, well aware of tonight's drug operation orchestrated by Penguin. He anticipated the presence of vigilantes or the possibility of intervening himself to halt the illicit activities.

The criminals, Batman and Robin, and our protagonist were all on edge, their focus fixed on the arrival of the Brazilian drugs. Each party had their own intentions regarding this significant event.

After waiting for over an hour and a half, the night had deepened, approaching midnight. Finally, a moderate-sized ship emerged on the horizon. All three parties recognized that this was the moment they had been waiting for.

Penguin's crew, accompanied by their general, were the first to make their move, aiming to expedite the process. Batman, trailing closely behind, monitored the situation, seeking the most opportune moment and location to intervene.

As for our protagonist, she was already poised, anticipating the perfect time to strike. She understood that her best opportunity would arise when the ship departed, as she had no interest in the Brazilians. Her sole focus was on seizing the drugs being transported by Penguin's gang members.

Nearly an hour passed, and it was already 1:00 a.m. Penguin's gang and the Brazilians completed the unloading process, steadily transferring the drugs to waiting minivans. Even if only a couple of vans managed to evade capture, the profit would be substantial.

Watching the mundane activities unfold before her eyes, our protagonist grew increasingly bored. It wasn't until she spotted the last truck being loaded with drugs that she decided it was time to take action. Without concern for her safety, she leapt from above, landing directly in front of the parked vans. Her impact created a deep crater, and there she stood—a menacing figure in a red cloak, boots, and mask.

The sudden appearance startled everyone present, from Penguin's gang members to the Brazilians, Batman, and Robin. They were taken aback by the audacity of this stranger who had materialized before them. Yet, she stood motionless, a menacing presence, without making a move.

Penguin's gang members hesitated for a moment, while the Brazilians witnessed the girl's sudden emergence. However, their hesitation was short-lived, as the girl opened her mouth and loudly demanded their surrender, insisting they peacefully hand over the drugs and await the arrival of the police. In the eyes of Penguin's gang members, her demands seemed absurd, further increasing their tension.

Unfazed by their skepticism, the girl remained steadfast, wearing a faint smile on her face. The situation grew increasingly tense, and finally, one gang member had enough. He unleashed a spray of bullets from his submachine gun, marking the beginning of a violent ordeal. The remaining 50 to 60 gang members joined in, firing their automatic rifles, pistols, and other firearms at the girl, driven by fear.

As the barrage of bullets struck her, she stood unwavering, seemingly immune to harm. Not a flinch, not a drop of blood—she simply absorbed it all, the bullets passing through her ethereal form without inflicting any damage. This spectacle further disconcerted the gang members, who continued firing in a frenzy, unsure of how to combat an opponent who remained unscathed.

In response to their assault, the girl grew bored of being a mere target. It was time to reveal her true nature. From the darkness within her, tentacles emerged, accompanied by a proliferation of darkness that spread outward. The gang members, consumed by fear and confusion, unleashed a hailstorm of bullets in all directions.

As the gang members incessantly fired and reloaded their weapons, she stood still, savoring the chaos unfolding around her. However, her patience waned, and she decided it was time to demonstrate her full power. Numerous hands and thousands of eyes emerged from the darkness, creating a horrifying tableau.

Within seconds, hellish mayhem descended upon the dock. The gang members, gripped by panic, ran for their lives. The encroaching darkness ensnared them, consuming their beings. Those who made contact with it vanished, lost in its unyielding grasp. The countless eyes scattered across the girl's monstrous form intensified, casting an eerie glow and instilling unimaginable terror in anyone who laid eyes upon her.

As the terrifying spectacle unfolded, Batman and Robin watched in stunned silence, uncertain of how to respond. Their initial plan to disrupt the drug deal had morphed into an unexpected encounter with a vigilante—a confrontation that took a nightmarish turn.

The chaos and terror persisted for only five minutes before silence enveloped the dock. The area lay deserted, devoid of human presence Only discarded weapons remained, serving as reminders of the terrifying events that had unfolded. She slowly approached the sole survivor—the presumed general of Penguin's gang—who struggled to back away, his strength waning.

Cloaked in the pure darkness emanating from her, she drew closer to the terror-stricken figure Her fangs glistened in the dim light, her vampiric nature pulsating with an insatiable hunger. The general trembled before her, paralyzed by terror as she loomed over him. With every step she took, the darkness within her swirled and writhed, consuming the remaining shreds of his courage. As she prepared to satisfy her monstrous desires, ready to sink her teeth into his flesh, a sudden interruption shattered the macabre tableau. A batarang whizzed through the air, wedging itself between her and the general, halting her in her tracks.
