Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Four Blessings (part 1)
In front of me were hundreds of chairs, and on each one sat someone. I couldn't see their faces because everyone wore a mask except for the Goddess sitting closest to me.
With a smile, Destiny began to speak.
"Hello Alice, I am glad to see you again."
I was happy to see her again. I got up and approached her with a smile.
"Hello, Lady Destiny. It is a pleasure to meet you again. I didn't think I would see you so soon."
We chatted like that for a moment. She asked me a lot of questions about my new life. When the subject of my memories came, she was horrified. She apologized to me again and again.
"Don't worry so much about it. In the end, everything went well thanks to Mimi's help."
"Ok, enough chatting. Let's proceed with the ceremony. Every Deity here wants to bless you, but as you can see, there are too many of them."
Hearing Destiny's explanation made me realize that everyone present in the room with me was a God or a Goddess. That realization made me nervous and intimidated.
"Don't be afraid. They all hope to give you a blessing. They are here to help you."
"I understand, but such a large number is intimidating."
Destiny and some of the Gods present began to laugh, visibly amused by my reaction.
"Ok, enough fun, all of you. Let me explain the situation to her."
The Gods stopped laughing but began to chat between themselves. I couldn't understand what they were saying, but the atmosphere was cheerful.
"Alice, all of them are interested in you because of the system I gave you. Each God can only grant a system to one soul. Once the system is granted, it can only be given again once that soul is destroyed. System hosts like you are very popular because of their potential. And since you are the first one ever to receive a system from me, you are even more popular than the others."
I nodded in understanding.
"In accordance with the rules, you will receive a total of four blessings today. You will be able to choose what type of blessing you want for three of them."
"What about the fourth one?"
"I will be the one to give you your fourth blessing."
Destiny had a proud look on her face and began to look at the other Gods with a sneer to taunt them. They responded to the provocation by screaming at her. Some even gave Destiny a middle finger. I found the scene very funny. The Gods were not so different from ordinary people.
"As you can see, you can't comprehend or see the other Gods. This is to prevent anyone from influencing you. To choose your blessing, you need to meditate in the magic circle center and concentrate on what you want. The circle will select what God best matches your wish."
I immediately followed the instructions and sat back with my legs crossed as I closed my eyes and began to think about what I wanted. I knew I wanted at least one physical and one elemental blessing.
My mind began to wander between all the possibilities. The kind of blessing I will get will determine my path as a knight. I knew from my lessons that Gods that relied on Aura and physical strength were exclusive. For example, It was impossible for someone blessed by the God of Sword to receive one from the God of Spears.
I was exploring each possibility one by one and rejected them almost immediately after.
"Swords are cool but too common. Spears might be powerful, but I find them too lame. I always found Assassins badass, but daggers don't have enough range…"
My train of thought continued like that until I remembered something from my past life. I was a big fan of classical martial arts movies. Seeing the likes of Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Jet Li fight on screen was enough to make my blood boil.
After a while, their image in my mind was replaced by me. I began to see myself fighting countless enemies with my fists and kicks. In my fantasy, I avoided my enemy's blows flexibly and elegantly. Sometimes, I used a staff to fight my foes at a distance. In others, the staff was divided into three parts linked by chains to fight multiple enemies.
While I was meditating, the seal below me flashed, and one of the figures sitting behind the barrier was instantly transported beside me.
Sensing the new presence beside me broke my meditative state. After opening my eyes, I saw someone standing beside Destiny. She was the prime example of an Eastern beauty. Her face was akin to a porcelain doll with flawless white skin and plump red lips. Her thin eyebrows and piercing black eyes gave her a fierce demeanor. She wore a loose white martial arts uniform embroidered with legendary beasts like dragons and phoenixes. The uniform couldn't hide from viewing her perfect body. She was looking at me with satisfaction.
"My name is Wu Mei, and among the multitude of divinities embodying Martial Arts, I am the only Goddess. My path is one of mastery of your own body and spirit. May my blessing guide you on your journey ."

Description: The signature martial arts technique of the Goddess Wu Mei. Each stance boosts one of the user's attributes at the cost of another.
Azure Dragon stance: While using this stance, the user's AGI is boosted by 100% and STR by 50% but will lose 75% of his INT.
Black Tortoise stance: While using this stance, the user's CON is boosted by 100% and STR by 50% but will lose 75% of his AGI.
White Tiger stance: While using this stance, the user's STR is boosted by 100% and AGI by 50% but will lose 75% of his CON.
Red Phoenix stance: While using this stance, the user's INT is boosted by 100% and AGI by 50% but will lose 75% of his STR.

I was in awe of this skill. It was pretty overpowered, even at level 1. But I needed to be careful with it because of the drawbacks of each stance.
"Thank you for this gift, Lady Wu Mei."
"You don't have to thank us, Gods, little one. Our most important duty is to help the young souls like you on their paths."
Those words seemed to contain meanings I didn't understand yet. Destiny noticed I was lost in thought.
"Let's continue, Alice."
