Chapter 170: ATAP 3: ATLA 1/2

In Another Time in Another Place, way in the distance on the other side of the Omniverse a world was facing a disaster like no other.

But Fate and Fortune gave Hifumi time to react to this incident and prepare but as for the world it has no hope of being saved, well at least this version of it.

"Hmmmm Hmm hmmm Hm Hm hmmmm." The hum of a young girls voice could be heard as she was combing the hair of another girl as they were in a rather luxurious room for the world that they live in as this was the palace in the capital city of their nation after all.

"Oh? And what's gotten you so happy today?" The girl who was getting her brushed asked the one brushing her hair.

"Oh nothing much Zula, I'm just thinking about the man of my dreams again." The girl said to the princess of the Fire Nation, Azula (12), as she finished combing her hair before handing the princess the brush and turning her back to her.

"…. You and your delusions of this man of your dreams again, we've known eachother for over two years now and I still don't get you sometimes." She said before, albeit reluctantly, combing her friends hair, something anyone would see as a massive honor to receive personally from the princess of the Fire Nation but this was an everyday occurrence between the two.

Not even Azulas other friends Mei and Ty Lee were this close as unlike those two that had a friendship built on fear with Azula, these two had something more akin to a rivalry as she has no fear of Azula whatsoever.

Azula when she met her for the first time in the Girls Fire Nation Academy as a transfer student she orginally tried to put her in her place but it was soon she found out that she too was a Firebending prodigy just like her as she not only learned how to make blue flames which are only seen once in a generation but an even more powerful black flame that when ignited on another can not be put out unless she wills it.

Seeing her talents this information ended up in the lap of the Firelord who at the time thought this young prodigy would be a threat and an obstacle to his heir and thus sent some of the best men to deal with her.

But when none but one returned only leaving the firelord with one message, 'I only desire what is best for the Fire Nation.' Before the remaining assassin burst into black flames.

The generals and officials were worried about this but the Fire Lord put them at ease and decided to handle it himself as she was summoned before him.

But instead of an execution he gave her the option of giving her and Agni Kai instead to fight for her life against him.

She agreed but asked for a different one than normal, 'If I take one fully powered attack head on from you and live all will be forgiven for what I have done.' Is what she asked.

To the officials and generals that was nothing but a death sentence of a different kind as the Fire Lord was the strongest of all the Firebenders in the world.

But Fire Lord Ozai saw this differently as he had only taken the throne but he felt it in his gut that this little girl was not normal, the flames and the ease she dealt with the best of assassins the Fire Nation had to offer.

But as she was a child and refusing her wish for this battle would make him look weak before his people so he agreed.

Soon enough they entered the Agni Kai arena in the Palace and the battle began, and as was asked he unleashed his strongest attack upon the girl.

There was no screams of pain and most believed she was burned to cinders from the intensity of that attack.

But then they heard laughter, the laughter of a little girl that disturbed those that listened and soon the flames that enveloped her turned into a flaming vortex before it dispersed and showed her standing unscathed, not even her clothes were burned from the attack.

But that's when Fire Lord Ozai realized something, she not only was a prodigy in fire bending like his daughter but she didn't have fire resistance.

No she had something much rarer, total fire immunity as the flames danced on her skin before disappearing within her as if they never existed.

Only a rare few in the total history of the Fire Nations existence has someone had complete immunity to flames altogether.

She looked at him and he in turn looked back at her before she bowed her head low and said, 'All I wish for is the prosperity of the Fire Nation, nothing more and nothing less.'

Some of the generals and ministers found her only bowing to be insulting to their lord but he held up his hand to silence them before he was handed his royal robes once more before looking back at her.

'Then see to it that it is done, from now on you will be the one to teach my daughter how to use those black flames of yours, serve our nation well.' Is all he said before leaving the arena under the somewhat stunned audience.

And that's how she ended up in the good graces of the royal family of the Fire Nation and it's been two years since then.

And during that time both her and the Princess have gotten close to one another and truly have become friends unlike the princess and her other friends who aren't truly her friends and more or less are her entourage at most.

But they had there uses in the princesses mind so she didn't mind and only truly trusted the girl she saw as her equal, rival and teacher.

Back to the present.

She chuckled when she heard that, "You'll understand in time, love is a strange thing but mine goes beyond time and space and I can't wait to see him again." She said with a sigh as Azula fixed her hair into two buns, though they weren't neat and tight but a bit loose with strands hanging here and there.

"…. One thing I'm still not perfect at, styling my or someone else's hair." Azula grumbled at her work that wasn't perfect, something a perfectionist like herself hated.

"Hehe, no worries Zula, you are only human and as I've said nobody is perfect, everyone has their flaws and at most you can only make those so small people won't even notice." She said giving Zula life advice that sounded more mature than a normal twelve year old should be able to say.

"Yes, yes, you've said that more than enough times already, but it's hard to take it to heart when my other teachers are so strict that I'm not allowed to make mistakes…. Even my father is like that…." Azula said with a sigh as she showed a rare expression of sadness.

"Have you had the chance to have a heart to heart talk with him about whether he loves you?" The girl asked as she looked at herself in a mirror as her hair was made the way she preferred it and unlike from her last world it was dyed to the color red, similar to that of her first life.

"….. I did…."

"And did he take his time before answering or did he brush it off and not taking it seriously?" She said turning to look at the downtrodden Azula which one would never see as she hides her pain so well but with her she is able to lay everything bare for her.

"…. He brushed it off saying 'why ask such an obvious question, if I didn't I would have exiled you like your brother, but as your my only other child you are important to keep around for the Fire Nation.'" She said as a silent tear went down her cheek which she brushed off as the girl grabbed and pulled her into her arms and held her close.

She could feel the silent sobs coming out from the princess, tears she would have never let out if she had never gotten to know her best friend and the only person that could keep herself together.

"It will be okay Zula, just know you always have me and I will never betray your trust, even at your lowest point." She said running her fingers through Azulas hair.

"…. Thank you….. Toga….." she said between sobs as Toga smiled with a cat like smile.

"Don't worry and just leave everything to me." She said as an ominous glow came from her eyes that glowed red in the light for all but a moment.

Now some of you might not care about this or even that I'm putting in an overarching plot line like this in this story in the first place and I get that but I'll tell you why this is happening.

It's to give this story an end goal, most stories with MC's getting insanely powerful result in them becoming actual gods by the end of their story, and to be fair he will get up their strength wise but him becoming a god isn't even his end goal for this story he just wants to live his new life to the fullest and just enjoy himself.

Will any of these girls end up being his women again in this life? Some will, some won't and some will be killed in the end, who lives and who dies is still up in the air for now as it won't be until the next volume that he actually meets one of them again and that's a long time from now as the Cyberpunk part is long as is with the next world being much shorter than this part and the one after that being somewhere inbetween these two parts lengths chapter wise.

As for more of these chapters there will be more but they will be sporadic and will only pop up if I need something to put something in to keep things fresh story wise because of how long this cyberpunk part is getting.

And if you don't like these chaps then all I can say is just don't read them and wait for the next one to come out then.

But that's all I wanted to say so until then, ciao for now.
