Chapter 10: Start of Karting and Racing World.

The day I had talk with my parents, I couldn't sleep properly. I used to pray for chance like this. This was like taking a giant step towards the dream that I had envisioned myself from previous life to this life. I couldn't wait.

After a week, together with mom and dad went to our local karting ring in Stuttgart. The karting ring was a large area with both indoor and outdoor rings, yhere were many kids and even some teenagers racing on the ring. It was a thrilling site to watch. This got my adrenaline pumping, I just wanted to jump into the Go Kart and race with others.

We then went to a building near the track which had a big sign saying 'ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING '. When we entered the building, we saw a woman waiting at the entrance of the building. She greeted us, "Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Duesmann we were expecting you. I am the secretary of this Karting ring, Rita Wagner. I will bring you the documents required to join this ring.

"So you are daughter of Magnus, good to meet you" my dad greeted her and we went to her office. Then she took out a file and a pen then she preceded to ask questions, "What is your name young man" she asked me.

"My name is Matthias Duesmann" I replied with a sime, she asked me another question " what is your age and which class are you studying in ?" I replied, "I am 5 years old and I am going to join class 1 this year".

"Oh you are quite young, are you sure that you want to join go karting ?" she questioned me. "Yes I do want to race, I have been dreaming about it" I said with absolute conviction.

This got me a surprised look from Ms. Wagner. "You are quite determined to race. Good I hope that you can achieve your dreams in the racing rings" she gave me the acknowledgement.

Then my parents and Ms. Wegner completed the documentation process and then we all went to the indoor track amd met my instructor. The man was around 50 or more, he had greying hair and a moustache. He then looked at us approaching and walked in our direction.

Ms. Wegner introduced him, "this is Mr. Jack Hues, he will be your instructor and will give you directions on how to drive the Kart. I looked at the man with excitement in my eyes. It seemed that he had noticed the excitement amd he said, "not so fast young man, at first you have to learn to drive the Kart".

" Ok, but I am a very fast learner, so it wouldn't take me much time to learn the Kart. So be ready to experience my domination on the track in years to come" I said with as much determination I could gather.

"Ok lad we will see about that in future but now you are nothing but a rookie in this pack and it will be up to you and time to see where you are going to be in comming years" he said in a elderly tone.

"Why don't we take a look around the track to get you acquainted and get familiar with it" Ms. Wegner took us away to a tour of the track.

Dad and Mr. Hues were left behind to discuss some important matters.

---- Markus's POV ----

I stayed behind to discuss with Mr. Hues about the intrecacies of being a driver and all about them.

"Mr. Hues you seem to be in this business for a very long time and may know how it works, can you breif me all about the things required for me to get Matt started in the line of racing" I didn't neat around the bush and directly asked him the major insecurity for me.

"Actually it isn't difficult to enter the racing scenario, there are multiple types of motor racing events going on in the world. There are various categories, cars and extremities in the world of racing. But the most famous one is what we Germans very well know, that is Formula 1" he explained and waited to let his words to settle in then he continued.

"As I said getting into racing is not the difficult part, thousands of kids start Karting as early as 4 years old but only the top, only the 'cremé de la cremé' of them can reach the highest position for a driver that is to drive a Formula 1 car".

"The competition is not tough but a situation of 'do or die'! The sport keeps getting costlier exponentially as the driver keeps climbing ladder. Sometimes it is not the talent that keeps them from persuing the sport but the monetary constraints on the driver's family".

"This is where 90% of drivers get out of racing. Then there is the task to lure in sponsors which will inject miney into the carrier and then the pressure to keep performing at the highest level for years and then you may have chance to get into the F1 circuit".

"There are multiple hurdles ahead of your child if he wants to be a F1 driver but with his enthusiasm it can only take him so much, so he needs to be the best out there, you should talk with your son about his carrier around 12, because at this time he will be getting International recognition as he will be eligible to compete in Karting World Championships".

He thoroughly explained with a serious tone and I just kept quiet as it was quite important for me to get my son as far as possible and I knew he can do it.

This also made me consider to join BMW in F1 as I got the offer few weeks ago. The BMW said that they were looking for a lead engineer for their F1 team, maybe I can form connections and make my son' chances of going into F1 much easier.

"Thankyou sir, I had never thought of intrecacies of this sport can go so deep. This is a good starting point for my son I hope and I know he has talent to reach the top most position the drivers can achieve, heck he learnt to drive a battery car at only age of 2" I completely showed my faith in Matthias's talent. I have never doubted him and money can never be the problem that will keep Matthias down

"Ok sir I hope your son achieves what he has dreamt of, it will be my duty that he will learn all there is about the Karting and I hope he has the talent to take it through" he gave the conclusion he felt was rigt and tried to did not get my hopes up.

Like this my conversation with Mr. Hues ended and I went to look for Matt and Amelia. This conversation may have made me take a different carrier move, but as long as Matt and Amelia are happy I don't care.

________

The Belgian Grand Prix was just a 'Try Not To Win In 1st Lap for Max Verstappen and unlucky for both Carlos Sainz (Smooth Operator, not so smooth this time) and Oscar Piastri both had DNF. Still was a good week for racing.

______________

This was mostly information dump and a reality check for Markus (Matthias's father) about what will the racing can hold in life of Matthias.
