Chapter 2: One More Chance

The man who was standing there was none other than Tomioka Giyu, the Water Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps.

Looking at his sword and how he was standing there, Tanjiro had figured it out that he was there to kill Nezuko. But before he could tell Nezuko not to move, she was already captured by the Pillar.

Tanjiro begged Giyu not to kill his sister, to which Giyu replies that he should forget that Nezuko was ever his sister. She had already become a demon. When killing a group, demons often mix their blood with some of their victims, making them demons too. And that is what happened with Nezuko. A demon's blood was infused in her. Hence why she can't be human.

But Tanjiro was still hesitant, and said that he would find a way to cure Nezuko back into a human.

However, this constant begging bugged Giyu, who believed that he was not strong enough to stand for himself. He proceeded to angrily shout at him for being so weak.

"How do you expect to save your loved ones if all you do is beg for mercy?!" He said as he stabbed Nezuko just beneath her collar bone.

Upon seeing this, Tanjiro quickly picked up a stone and threw it at Giyu without any second thought. While Giyu blocked the stone with his sword, he noticed that Tanjiro was not where he was standing. Instead, he was just beneath him, about to throw his punch. But being an experienced fighter he was, Giyu knocked him out with his sword.

Nezuko kicked herself out of the Pillar's grip and made a run towards Tanjiro. To Giyu's shock, she was actually trying to protect Tanjiro from him. Looking at this, Giyu actually thought to give the siblings a chance at life.

Nezuko once again jumped to attack Giyu, but this time, instead of using his sword, he used his hand and hit Nezuko's neck, after which she was knocked out too.

After a while, Tanjiro made it back to his senses. He saw the water hashira still there with them. But he was now there for a different purpose.

"Go and see an old man named Sakonji Urokodaki. He lives at the foot of Mount Sagiri. Tell him that I sent you both. He might help and decide to train you." He said, as he left, vanishing into the storm.

The next day, Tanjiro and Nezuko were resting inside a cave. As it turned out, Nezuko could not roam under the sun as she would evaporate. There is a reason demons only appear at night after all. While they were there, it also came to be known that Nezuko could change her size into that of a child. Which is a good thing, as it made it easy for Tanjiro to carry her around.

Suddenly, the incident of the last day clicked Tanjiro's mind. Not the one with the pillar, but the one before it. The moment that the siblings touched, and nearly kissed each other. If it was not for the pillar, Tanjiro would have ended up having done wrong things with his sister.

Because the incident crossed his mind, Tanjiro was now not able to make eye contact with Nezuko, as it made him blush his ears out. While Nezuko remained rather confused, thinking why her brother won't.

When night arrived, they decided to walk out of the cave to make their way towards Mount Sagiri. Tanjiro was not clear in his mind and was not freaking out anymore, and everything was normal again.

But hey, things can't be normal in this story, right?

Turns out, Nezuko was feeling kind of... Weird. The thing is, in the evening, Tanjiro was asleep and Nezuko (who was in her childish form) was bored. So to wake him up, she started lightly slapping him. But when she touched his cheek, she remembered that incident, after which SHE started acting shy. She remembered how she was rubbing her cheek on that of her brother's, and how she was slowly kissing his ear.

And since the evening, she has been thinking only that. Although she is his sister, she WANTS it. She wants to do with again, but she doesn't know what to do or how to say.

"Nezuko?" She suddenly heard Tanjiro. "You are sitting crouched in the corner all evening. Is everything good?" He asked.

His voice...

Nezuko slowly turned back. Tanjiro was right at her face, smiling. She was taken back. Tanjiro then offered his hand, as in helping her to stand up. As a gentleman he was, Tanjiro didn't knew that this kind impression would be taken in a whole another way by his sister.

Nezuko stared at his hand for a while.

"What is it, Nezuko? Something is wrong?"

Suddenly, Nezuko grabbed her brother's arm and pulled him down. Like the previous day's position, she forced Tanjiro on his back and yet again, sat on top of him.

Tanjiro was now getting scared too. She's repeating the behavior of yesterday?! While Tanjiro also wanted to continue the job, he had somehow controlled his feelings. But now that she is on it again, he is struggling to decide.

Do it with your sister? Or....
