Chapter 430: Training an Army - Part 4

They numbered over a thousand men, and not a single one of those men was weak. The lowest level that Vol saw was level 30. As if that was not frightening enough, they had dozens of men that were above level 80, and nearly a hundred that were above level 50.

They weren't raiders. Vol couldn't reconcile that thought in his head, not when he looked at the way their ranks were set up. There were two hundred cavalrymen amongst them. They even had a force of spearmen, as though they'd come fresh from the Stormfront. They must have been three hundred strong.

"Are those… archers?" Vol asked. He'd yet to face any force with a dedicated troop of archers. It simply wasn't viable for a raiding party. They weren't expecting to get into a full-fledged battlefield conflict, after all. They always attacked with surprise on their side. If a force was to use bows, then it would be a temporary force that would use them, before switching back to their primary weapons.
