In that first charge, with merely fifteen mounted men, nearly fifty had died in a matter of seconds. It was the sort of violent firepower that was seen in only the most unbalanced of armies – and their army could certainly be accused of such imbalances. Yet on mere strength of might alone, they had conquered many foes before, and planned to do just the same again.

They set in, fifteen men led by Vol, and they pushed two hundred men back, bellowing all the while. As Vol fought, his mind went white. He reached out for a man's face with his free hand, doing whatever the most natural to him. His massive palm seized the man's head, and drew him down into Vol's knee, shattering his jaw. With a kick, the unconscious body was sent backwards, and Vol's warhammer followed after it, scattering the men that came his way.
