Chapter 76: Edward’s confused feelings.

Edwards sat in his office, engrossed in the year-end reports presented by Rodney, his diligent assistant. As Rodney listed the best departments, employees, and managers, Edwards couldn't help but scan through the booklet. A familiar name caught his attention, and a subtle smile curved his lips. He handed the booklet back to Rodney with a nod of approval.

"We're about to dismiss for the year. Has the date of the end-of-year party been announced?" Edwards inquired, shifting his focus to the upcoming celebration.

"Yes, sir. It's on Monday," Rodney informed him, standing attentive to his boss's needs.

"Okay, make sure you prepare the end-of-year bonus for every staff, and also see to it that their salaries are paid early. You've also done well; you'll be getting a salary raise," Edwards announced, looking for Rodney's reaction.

Rodney adjusted his glasses, a genuine smile appearing on his face. "Thanks, boss," he expressed his gratitude.
