Chapter 25: Master Wayne

After purging the fear toxin from his body, Batman watched the entire process of Poison Ivy's imprisonment, including their private conversation. However, instead of immediately finding Quinn, he contacted his ally, Aquaman.

"Arthur, there's a case of an Trench attack in Gotham. Can you give me an explanation?"

Batman sat in the Batcave, using the watchtower to communicate remotely with Aquaman.

"Batman? Gotham? Atlanteans?" Arthur couldn't imagine how these elements could be combined.

"A long time ago, I repelled the Trench once. I don't know much about them, but they are extremely bloodthirsty. To me, they are like humanoid piranhas. You say they attacked someone in Gotham, that's really strange."

Arthur noted that the fish have been quiet lately, and wherever the they appear, there's usually a lot of bloodshed. The ocean couldn't be this calm.

"That means someone is restraining them."

Batman narrowed his eyes. The Trench came for Manaphy, and according to Poison Ivy's information from the Green, Gotham would become a ruin. Manaphy was the key to resolving the disaster.

As opposites to sea, the land came to mind, and Batman remembered the recent frequent small earthquakes in Gotham.

Arthur pondered, "Are you saying someone is controlling the them? That's unlikely. They're extremely violent, and I can't even communicate with them... Maybe I should ask Vulko. He's my mentor and knows a lot about Atlantis."

Leaving the matter to Arthur, Batman immediately began changing into his disguise - "Bruce Wayne."

"Computer, mark all large shelters in Gotham capable of withstanding a 7th-grade earthquake and tsunami."

The computer quickly marked three locations.

"Good, Alfred, from now on, start transporting enough supplies to sustain ten million people for two weeks to these three shelters."

Alfred assisted Bruce with his attire and politely replied, "I'm afraid Gotham doesn't have that much inventory."

"Then buy from other cities, get as much as we can. Also, prepare to shoot a video and send it to Gotham TV station."

After recording the video, Alfred hesitated, "Master Bruce, isn't it too hasty to release this information without decisive evidence... Even the longstanding Wayne family would suffer if this judgment is wrong."

Bruce simply pressed the send button.

"Alfred, if I'm wrong, I'll be very glad."

The next morning, when Quinn sat down for breakfast, she saw Bruce Wayne's face on the TV news.

"According to Wayne Enterprises' Chief Scientist, Lucius Fox's research prediction, Gotham will experience an earthquake of magnitude 7 or above within three days, possibly causing a tsunami on the northeast coast.

For everyone's safety, Wayne Enterprises urges all citizens to move to the shelters within Gotham in the next two days. Emergency evacuation routes are being planned...

Next, we have Mr. Bruce Wayne, a director of Wayne Enterprises. Can you confirm the accuracy of Mr. Fox's prediction? Keep in mind that the shelters won't be operational. If the earthquake doesn't occur, who will bear the resulting economic problems?"

The screen switched to Bruce's face, occupying the entire screen.

"The shelters have sufficient reserves, and all expenses during the period will be borne by Wayne Enterprises."

With just this sentence, a wave opulence comes through the TV, leaving Quinn stunned, he gulps down a glass of milk to calm down.

Truly it's the Batman, he quickly deduced the potential disaster caused by the legendary Pokémon and promptly devised a response strategy.

Truly it's Bruce, his financial capability is simply extravagant.

"What are you standing there for?"

Gordon wears a troubled expression; this news has been repeated on television several times.

"Quickly come with me to the police station; I need to allocate the police force to the three large shelters and ensure order during evacuation... Quinn, we're starting overtime!"

Quinn couldn't have imagined that with just one sentence from Batman, he would be facing 72 hours of non-stop work.

After spreading through various media outlets, Wayne Enterprises' earthquake prediction news quickly circulated throughout Gotham, leaving many people skeptical.

Wayne Enterprises granted all their employees a three-day leave, and with Wayne Enterprises having a significant presence in Gotham, over a million people began seeking refuge. Due to herd mentality and the recent increase in earthquake reports, more and more people joined the evacuation.

On the rooftop of Gotham Police Department, Gordon stands under the spotlight, projecting the Bat-Signal onto the dim clouds.

A shadow appears behind Gordon - the long-awaited Dark Knight makes an appearance in broad daylight.

Batman knows why he was summoned, "During this time, I'll work with Robin to ensure a smooth evacuation."

"Leave them to you."

There are no outsiders here, and Gordon can finally vent, "That Wayne brat, does he know his casually spoken words have plunged all of Gotham into panic? Damn!"

Evacuation isn't something that money alone can solve. To make people willingly leave their homes, their safety must be ensured. The first six hours of evacuation are crucial; the citizens of Gotham must see their properties being properly protected. Otherwise, not even Bruce, let alone Batman, can convince them to leave.

Moreover, with such a large-scale movement of people, the villains lurking in the shadows will surely take advantage of the situation. Gordon can almost foresee the chaotic scene of mayhem in Gotham.

The Gotham Police Department will face its biggest challenge since its creation.

Lighting up a cigarette for himself, Gordon turns his head and freezes on the spot. This time, Batman didn't disappear without a word.

After listening to Gordon's complaints, Batman knows his partner means no harm; it's just that this evacuation operation puts enormous pressure on the police department, and he can't be of much help this time.

He tosses a bat-shaped communicator to Gordon, "Give this to Quinn. Tell himrm to ensure smooth communication; I'll be in touch with him."

Saying this, he pulls his cape and leaps, gliding down to the Batmobile below.

Gordon takes one last bitter puff of his cigarette and stubs it out on the ground.

He might be getting old, but this city still needs him.

Batman drives the Batmobile, rushing to Indian Hill at the fastest speed. Meanwhile, he activates the in-car communication system, connecting to the Bat Network.

[Batman, online.]

[Robin, online.]

[Nightwing, online.]

[Oracle, online.]

The communicator scans Quinn's iris, and a notification sound chimes.

[Police, online.]
