Chapter 14.....🌊🌊🌊
"Hey, hope you can take in pain, cause am about to hurt you pretty good." sage said to Phoebe, air girl.
"Don't be cocky. You have no idea what I can do." The air girl replied her.
"Guess we're about to find out." Sage said to her and launched her whip at her.
The girl was quick enough to dodge the impact from the whip.
I noticed that Phoebe, the air girl, was waiting for sage to attack first.
They kept walking sideways until sage unleashed her whip again at her.
But this time, Phoebe used her spear to knock it off.
Sage kept unleashing her whip many times at once and successfully hit Phoebe on the face with it.
Phoebe was shocked at the impact, she felt her face with her hand and focused back on the fight.
She threw her spear at Sage, but sage was fast enough to bend her back backwards with her hands touching the ground.
Phoebe ran fast and got to her spear again.
I was astonished at how fast she ran. It's not humanly possible. One second, she was far from the spear, the next second she's close to it again.
"How did she do that?" I asked Madeline.
"Do what?" she replied.
"Run so fast. I mean I could bare catch her running because she was too fast." I said to Madeline.
"Ohh. You mean her speed? She has the air element. That means she can control the air around her. Like push it forward to help her run really fast. That's one of the perks of having the air element." Madeline said to me and shrugged her shoulders.
"Wow. That's so cool." I say and focused back on the fight.
After Phoebe got back her spear, She successfully hit Sage's wrist and her whip fell off her hands.
"Looks like you dropped something." Phoebe said to sage and that got her angry.
Sage did multiple backflips till she got to her whip and picked it up, in the process launching it towards Phoebe.
But Phoebe was fast enough to dodge it this time.
Sage targeted her spear and launched her whip towards it. The whip got a hold of the spear and Sage used full force to drag the spear away from Phoebe's hand and into her own hands.
She smirked at Phoebe And Phoebe frowned at her instead.
Phoebe wanted to use her powers to run towards Sage, but sage quickly unleashed her whip on Phoebe's neck and the whip tightened around her neck.
Phoebe tapped out in surrender as her neck was tightening from the whip's impact.
Sage removed the whip from her neck since she has surrendered.
"Okay that was a good fight guys. Sage Good job on winning. Phoebe, you also did great, you showed strong agility and combination of both normal combat and your powers, which is needed in a fight. And sage you had a perfect technique, and even more points for not using your powers all through." the teacher said to them.
"Everyone let's hear it for them." the teacher said aloud and the whole crowd cheered and clapped for them.
Phoebe's magic spear suddenly disappeared into thin air and she glumly went back to join her group.
While Sage just stood there.
"So is there anyone else that would like to challenge Sage? Anyone?" the teacher asked the crowd.
"Me!" someone yelled out.
Everyone started looking around, searching for where the voice came from.
Suddenly the fire people made a cleared way for one of them to pass.
A beautiful girl with blonde hair, almost white came out in view.
She looked like that handsome fire boy that made me a flower.
The girl went to the center of the field and stood with the teacher and Sage.
It looked like Sage's mood suddenly changed because there was no form of positive emotion showing on her face. Just pure anger.
"Um...Cara I don't think that's a good idea." the teacher said to the girl.
"Why not? I don't see any issues with challenging Sage here. I mean unless she's scared or something." the girl, Cara said to the teacher and smirked at Sage afterwards.
"You're going down, dragon breath." Sage said to the girl with hatred in her eyes.
I looked over to Madeline and Decided to ask her a question.
"Hey, Is that by any chance, the Cara, Stacy was talking about the other day?" I asked Madeline who herself seemed annoyed to death while only looking at Cara.
"What do you think?" Madeline answered with a question sounding annoyed with my own question.
"Oh. I see. Wait do they hate each other or something?" I asked Madeline.
"Yep. Their beef goes way down the line. Not just to each other, but every fire and water element wielder out their loathe each other dearly. " Madeline said to me.
"Whao. Why?" I asked her.
"There were stories of how it all began between the fire clan and water tribe but it's a long long story that happened like gazillion years ago. But these two girls, their beef is kinda personal, it started since we were like five years old,I think. Just imagine however you think I hate Cara, Sage probably hates her even more." Madeline explained to me.
"Wow. That's eh terrible. The teacher is probably right. I don't think they should be fighting, like physically. They might end up hurting each other for real." I said to her.
"Yeah. Well I guess it's up to the teacher now." Madeline said to me and I nodded.
We both focused back on what was happening.
"Cara, Sage, let's not do this girls. I don't want to implant any more hate and loathing between your elements. So let's just end this. " the teacher said to them both.
"No. She's already here. Why don't we just get it over with. And get the hell out of this field. I'm beginning to get a rash because of the sudden increase in temperature around here." Sage said to the teacher.
"Yeah she's right. Let's just be done with this, I'm sure it wouldn't take too long for me to beat her." Cara said to the teacher and shrugged her shoulders.
Sage chuckled bitterly and bit her lips with annoyance.
"Ok, fine. If you both insist. Let's get to it then. Cara I'm sure you know how to conjure up your weapon." the teacher asked her.
"Ofcourse. I can do it even in my sleep." Cara said and put her hands up in mid Air. She conjured up a weapon. A long fiery sword.
She closed eyes and opened them up in seconds, and her eye colour changed to a glowing fire orange colour.
She manifested her sword to reality.
"Very nice job Cara. That was even faster than I expected. Great start." the teacher commended Cara.
"Thanks teacher....." Cara said but was caught off guard by the whip that flew over her face.
"Less talking....more fighting." Sage said to Cara.
Cara smirked and wiped out her face.
Cara charged at Sage, swinging her sword towards her and sage tried her best in dodging all the swings while moving backwards.
Sage in turn, swinged her whip in circles before launching it towards Cara.
But cara jumped over the coming whip.
Cara once again charged towards Sage with her sword. She came so close to Sage and successfully pushed her down with a hard hit on her shoulders.
"Sorry.... Do you need some help getting up?" Cara asked sage sarcastically and smirked at her.
Cara turned her back to Sage, and Sage used the opportunity to fling her whip at Cara's neck. The whip caught her neck tightly and she started struggling for air.
Cara used her fire powers to heat up the handle of Sage's whip and sage dropped her whip because of the burn.
"Ow You burned me!" Sage exclaimed.
"Yeah I did." Cara said when she was free from the hold and quickly moved towards Sage and put her sword on the side of her neck before she could do anything else.
"Now. Surrender, or I might just slice you up right now." Cara said to sage and smirked.
"You cheated." Sage said to her calmly.
"Did I?" Cara asked her.
"We're not supposed to use our powers to hurt each other. We're supposed to use it Only to help ourselves win. Without harming the opponent." Sage said to her and Cara smiled.
"I don't remember the teacher here making that rule. Besides I did use my powers to help me win. I'm the one with a sword hanging by your neck, arent I?" Cara said to Sage.
"Okay girls, that's enough. I think we've seen enough for today everyone. It's time you all go to your next classes. Cara dispose the sword at once." the teacher said.
Cara smirked at Sage before making her sword born out into thin air.
The crowd suddenly scattered as everyone started returning inside the school building.
I looked over to see Sage still standing in the field. Not making an attempt to move from where she was standing.
"Hey Madeline, isn't Sage coming inside? Why is she still standing there?" I asked Madeline.
"How should I know? Look don't try to bother yourself about her. Sage can take care of herself. You should bother more about mastering your powers. So that you'll have a sense of belonging here... Okay?" Madeline said to me.
"Okay." I replied and gave her a small smile before we both got inside the building.
