Chapter 17: “Boxing Bags”
*Then I can get side missions too...* Yamamoto thought as he looked curiously at the pop-up sale.
[Do you accept? Yes/No. Warning: If the mission is not completed within a certain time, a punishment will be applied]
*What a vile system* thought Yamamoto for the punishment as he accepted the mission. As he accepted it he could see the remaining time and frowned.
[Remaining time: 23 hours 59 minutes...]
*Damn I don't have much time and I don't even know the details of the mission well. Let's take care of these flies first* thought Yamamoto as he looked towards Nelson and the other marines accompanying him.
"Ok girl I will help you, but now go to a safer place while I take care of these marines" replied Yamamoto to Apis' request who smiled at the affirmation, quickly Apis took Robin by the hand and went to a safer place to observe the impending confrontation.
Before Nelson could shout to stop Apis and Robin from escaping, Yamamoto spoke up, "You marines shoot two 8-year-old girls, have you no shame?" he asked referring to Nelson's subordinates, as he knew that this greedy fat man was beyond saving.
The marines who heard these words made embarrassed faces and said nothing, seeing this Yamamoto shook his head disappointed in these people who are supposed to defend the weak. Even though Nelson was their superior, to be ordered to capture a little girl like Apis and do nothing while this fat man almost killed Robin, makes them the same trash as Nelson.
"Shut up you senile old man! Tsch this is why I hate old men" Nelson replied from his chair angrily, "Come on take care of this old man, don't waste bullets on him" he added as he waved his hand.
The 5 marines who followed Nelson and were free to load his chair, hesitated a little, "Move!" ordered Nelson angrily at the hesitation of his subordinates.
At Nelson's angry shout, the 5 marines quickly unsheathed their swords and began to slowly approach Yamamoto surrounding him so that he could not escape.
"Old man surrender, don't make it hard for us" said one marine having some hope that Yamamoto would surrender.
The mercenary Eric was watching all this from afar with some curiosity towards Yamamoto, he knew he was not a normal old man as he was able to save Robin from being hit by the bullet. So he decided to watch and let others test the strength of this old man, since if he has to intervene he will have a better understanding of his strength.
"If you hesitate you will die" replied Yamamoto as he squinted his eyes and looked at the marine who spoke, who felt a shiver down his back from the look of this old man.
Yamamoto was somewhat expectant for this fight, as it was the first one without using any system card, although he knew he couldn't lose for one simple reason, his logia fruit. So he will use these marines as a way to train and understand his current strength with better accuracy.
Also, even though he uses Yamamoto's 50% strength card from Bleach, the experience of the Buster Call battle and the battle against Zephyr still live on in his memory, so facing these French fries puts no pressure on him.
"AHH!" Two marines lunged toward Yamamoto, one slashing toward his right arm and one toward his left.
Yamamoto seeing how one of the marines closed his eyes at the attack, shook his head in disappointment, he easily dodged the attack, noticing that the speed of these marines was very slow, he didn't know if it was because they underestimated him or because being with Nelson his training was nil.
While dodging the attack, the two marines almost tripped and collided with their swords, Yamamoto without giving them time to process what happened, closed both fists and hit the face of the two marines.
PUM!
Both marines went flying a few meters unconscious as Yamamoto's blow hit them in the jaw, leaving them KO'd instantly. The remaining 3 marines who surrounded Yamamoto and did not attack him, as they thought it was too abusive for 5 people to attack an old man, were surprised by the defeat of their comrades.
Quickly the 3 marines with more seriousness on their faces and without underestimating him launched themselves towards Yamamoto, attacking him from 3 different places, even so, the result was the same, dodging the sword cuts with naturalness, Yamamoto this time launched a kick towards the abdomen of a marine sending him flying.

Quickly, turning his body with agility, He threw a blow with the back of his fist that hit the face of a marine breaking his teeth and leaving him KO. Before the third marine could make another move, I threw a hook punch to his jaw, knocking him unconscious as well.
In a matter of seconds, Yamamoto knocked out these 5 marines, he felt that the last 3 had a higher speed than the previous two, but their attacks were very obvious and with his experience, it wasn't hard to dodge them and counterattack.
"Wow! Who knew that old man would be so powerful?" Apis exclaimed in admiration as she watched the fight, from behind a tree.
"Did you see? I told you so," Robin said proudly.
"Hey little girl have more respect for your elders" said a female voice as she gave Apis' head a little smack from behind.
Apis turned to see who was scolding her and smiled as she saw this person, "Olvia! Sorry it won't happen again" said Apis while hugging Olvia who managed to escape from Bokuden's boring stories.
Robin seeing her mother smiled and asked, "Mother and the others?" referring to Clover and the other archaeologists.
Olvia with a slightly strange face replied, "Well... they are still listening to the story of Bokuden you might say" Hearing this, Apis' face made a strange grimace.
"Useless! First, they can't capture a damn girl and now they are defeated by this old man" Nelson shouted furious seeing the crushing defeat of his subordinates, "You are very arrogant for someone who can't move without the help of others, fatso" Yamamoto said emphasizing on the last word.
Nelson's face was red with anger at Yamamoto's words, Olvia and Robin were surprised by Yamamoto's words, as he always acts composed. He said this because he got tired of an obese fat man calling him old and senile all the time.
"Eric go and kill him, quick!" Nelson ordered his mercenary.
"Juju okay" said Eric with a wicked grin, as he slowly advanced towards Yamamoto.
Yamamoto observed Eric and what caught his attention the most, apart from his ridiculous hairstyle were his long and sharp nails, *I don't think those nails are for decoration* thought Yamamoto.
He knew that Eric, by his aura was much stronger than these marines, even so, he won't use his devil fruit powers yet, as he wants to know his current strength well.
"Get ready old man!" exclaimed Eric as he dashed at high speed towards Yamamoto.
Before reaching his side and starting a short-range battle, Eric using the sharp nails on one of his hands launched a slash into the air that created a powerful air blade that was heading at high speed toward Yamamoto.
This long range attack surprised Yamamoto somewhat, as it could not be achieved without a devil fruit especially since they were in the West Blue one of the weakest seas.
Yamamoto at the last second managed to move to the side, causing the blade to graze him cutting a few of his clothes, *Tsch the speed is similar to that of a bullet* cursed Yamamoto in his mind for his poor speed he still wasn't able to easily dodge these attacks with these speeds, even though he knew that with his logia fruit his attack was useless he decided to dodge it.
CRASH!
Eric's air blade hit a tree, splitting it in half without much difficulty, then hit another tree that followed the same fate and finally dissipated.
Yamamoto did not stay still and threw himself toward Eric looking for close combat so that he could not make long-distance attacks. When they were close enough, Eric slashed with one of his hands and sharp nails towards Yamamoto's face who noticed that Eric's attack was much faster than that of the marines he faced a while ago.
For a moment he thought about letting Eric hit him to let him let his guard down, and then hit him with all his might or turn him into roast chicken ending the battle easily, but he preferred not to do that and not to rely on his devil fruit this time. For Yamamoto Eric was the perfect opponent, as it represented a challenge compared to other marines and could not kill him.
Yamamoto dodged Eric's scratch, with more ease than the previous attack that had a higher speed, he quickly hit with his fist to Eric's stomach who couldn't dodge the blow.
PUM!
"Gr..." grunted Eric in pain as he took a few steps to the side and grabbed his stomach.
*He has a lot more stamina than the marines too* thought Yamamoto as he tried to calculate Eric's strength with the system parameters.
Without giving him time to compose himself, Yamamoto threw himself at Eric, who, seeing that the old man was throwing himself with all his might, decided to use both hands to quickly throw two wind blades at a very close distance from Yamamoto.
The two blades were heading at high speed towards Yamamoto, one was at a higher altitude than the other. Facing the impending attack, Yamamoto knew that due to the speed and close distance, it was much harder to dodge than even the first attack which had the speed of a bullet.
However, he did not plan to use his logia power, in a fraction of a second he took the course to follow, making a millimetric jump, he passed through the gap left by the two blades.
The two blades missed Yamamoto by a centimeter and as he jumped he adjusted his body to get through. Eric had a smile on his face at first, but when he saw Yamamoto jump and pass through the small gap between the two blades, his smile disappeared.
He watched in disbelief as Yamamoto came at him at full speed. Yamamoto didn't give him a chance and closed his fist in which he concentrated a lot of fire and hit straight towards Eric.
The fist of flames hit Eric's head, breaking several bones in his face, and burning his face completely.
Eric felt his whole face burning in excruciating pain, letting out a piercing scream, little by little the pain increased as the fire spread.
Yamamoto always wanted to make a fire fist attack, so he could not restrain himself to try such an attack on Eric. Seeing the result he was satisfied, minus the firepower that if he had 50% of his strength, his face would be in ashes.
Eric felt his whole face burning in excruciating pain, letting out a piercing scream he fell straight to the ground while trying to put out the fire with his hands.
Yamamoto slowly approached Eric who was kicking on the ground, without giving him time to think with his leg, he kicked him right in the face. The kick caused him great pain, thanks to the fact that he was trying to extinguish the fire with his hands, he managed to intercept some of the blow in his hands.
Yamamoto kicked him again, and again, and again until finally, Eric gave his last breath in this world.
*Tsch, if I had the same strength as before with a little flame he would turn to ashes* thought Yamamoto while he pushed his leg away as if he had just stepped on an insect.
Eric's body lay still on the ground with almost all of his face burned and deformed by the constant kicks Yamamoto hit him.
