Chapter 17: ouroboros

Several months have passed. Several events occurred during this time. For one thing, I'm now deemed to be of advanced status. In the manner of the North God. But I'm still at the bottom of the dojo. My Adventure Guild rating increased from f to D, which means I can now formally apply for C-level jobs. Mom wants me to join a group before taking a C-level job. I did, in fact, promise or indicate that I would. Sylphiette has been performing adventure jobs to assist her father, who is also an adventurer. And in no time, she and I had risen to the same level.

Norn, my sister, is also doing well. She is a happy and healthy child. Spending time with her and assisting Mom with anything she requires is one of the pleasures of my day. I can't believe how quickly my younger sister, Norn, is growing. I've also spoken with my brother, Rudy. According to the letters I got from him, he has mastered three other languages: the battle god, the demon god, and the Beast God. That absolutely wowed me. I didn't think of him as a studious sort. Which reminds me that if I asked, I'm sure Master Brom would teach me some of the languages he knows.

So I did, and Master Brom promised to teach me languages whenever he had time. I have now mastered the beast, God.

And the Battle God. the Battle God It is, in essence. Human language has a distinct version. My rivalry with Sylvia has intensified. We're continuously hurling insults and jabs at each other. I'm quickly catching up to her abilities. I usually win 4 out of 10 times. We encourage one another to improve. Our contests are generally quite intense, with both sides attacking and defending with zeal. Using the environment in elegant footwork Some could even describe it as dancing.

Sylvia wasn't the only one I had to deal with all the time. I had a lot of competitors vying for my position in the dojo. As a result, I won a bunch of weird crap. I sold the most of it. Leaving me with a little sum of money. I'm just relieved that all my hard work is paying off. Then it came time for my weekly seven-day vacation. We're doing my job as an adventure. This time, my plan is to start or join a party. I pack my belongings. Say goodbye to my mother and sister, Norn. I saddle up my horse and begin my journey to Roa.

The trip to Roa that day was uneventful. I cross through the gate and make my way to the Adventure Guild. When I arrived, I decided to check the notice board, where I saw a note. The note was written by someone seeking a party. There will apparently be a gathering here tomorrow in the morning. I mentally noted that I'm going to make sure I'm there tomorrow. The individual who left this letter is even more shocking. It is, of course, Leo. He didn't seem like the type of person who would desire to collaborate with others. In that aspect, it appears that I did not successfully judge. Maybe he'll let me join the party he's attempting to form.

When I hear the entrance to the Adventure Guild open, everyone glances around to see who has just stepped in. Laws was the one who strolled in and over to the employment board. When I see him, I decide to approach him and ask, "How are you doing, Mr. Laws?" "It could be worse, but we're fine for now," Laws said. Continue: "I was actually wondering if you wanted to form a party with me." Laws remarked, shaking his head. "Nothing against you, but I don't want to form a party with anyone." "Why?" I inquired, and he replied. "Because I'm already struggling to make ends meet. I'd make less if I had to divide it with others."

I replied, "That makes sense." His response was, "I'm sure Sylphiette would like to be In a party with you." "I'd love to have her in my party," I respond with a smile. If she's available, do you think you could send her here tomorrow morning?" According to Laws, "I can do that on one condition." I would like to know, "What is the condition?" Laws stipulates, "That you watch over her and make sure nothing bad happens."

"Of course," I respond. Laws just take a job. From the board, he takes it to the reception area and exits the guild.

After seeing Laws go, I decided to take a simple D-level job. That I can complete in one day. I take it to the counter where you apply for the job. After that, I leave to find the mission giver, Brock Anvil. The mission I accepted was to assist in the inventory sorting. They're apparently employing up to four adventurers for the position. I followed the guild's recommendations on how to go to his shop. It was only about a ten-minute walk away. When I arrived at the building, it looked to be the most beautiful in the whole district. And a massive sign with the gigantic anvil symbol hung atop the structure.

I step inside the shop's doors. Behind the counter sits a dwarf with orange hair, orange eyes, and a massive beard. He notices me walking and appears to be irritated. That makes sense. This is not a store where children would ordinarily shop. Finally, the dwarf speaks out. "What can I do for you, kid?" I show him the documents and say, "I'm here about the quest." He takes my papers, examines them, and then looks at me. He interrupts the pause by stating, "Well, if you're able to lift the heavy boxes, I'd be delighted to have your assistance. If you don't, I'll have you return to the guild

The dwarf then continues, "Brock, by the way, is my name, and my brothers and I run this Smith." Then he adds, "Follow me to the back." So I did as he instructed and followed him to the rear. Brock then replies, "You're the fourth one to join; the other three are already in the back." When we arrived in the rear area, I noticed three individuals grabbing boxes and placing them onto the wagons. I identify two individuals. I saw Leo and Laws there. So I started assisting with loading the boxes onto the cart. I decided to have a small conversation with them.

"Fancy meeting you too here." I say. Laws "Yeah, I guess it really is a small world." Leo nods in agreement. "I saw your notice about looking for party members," I said to Leo. What would you think if I wanted to join?" Leo appears to pause and contemplate for a moment. He inquires after a brief minute of thought. "That depends on your skill set." I'm proud to tell him that I'm advanced in all schools of swordsmanship, as well as all schools of attack magic." Leo expresses his amazement.

"That'll do for now, but I'll save it for tomorrow." My ultimate choice will be made.

"Cool," I continue, "because there's someone else I'd like to introduce you to tomorrow." She's a fantastic mage with advanced rank. who excels at all sorts of assault magic. Accept fire magic. She is very proficient in healing and detox." "Interesting," Leo says. We're all still performing our jobs. While joyfully conversing. After nearly 6 hours of effort, I made it. We were finally finished. We received our job completion tag and returned to the Adventurers Guild. I turn in my quest and receive five silvers. I leave the guild for the inn.

After my workout, I went to the Crimson Rat to pick up Sylphiette. So we can go to the meeting that Leo has set up. Sylphiette notices me as I approach the Crimson Rat. She rushes up to me and offers me a hug. "Are you ready to go?" I ask as I hug her again. "Yes, I am," Sylphiette responded, her face tense. I'm both delighted and terrified. "I hope they don't mind my hair color." "Anyone who has a problem with your hair color isn't worth collaborating with." I pat her on the head. Sylphiette answered with a little smile, "Thank you." I then said, "Let's go then."

We proceed to the Adventure Guild. And enter. When we go through the entrance, I notice one table with a large crowd. There were a lot of people there. Angry voices can be heard saying, "Fine, you'd be a dead weight in our party anyway." Some older individuals storm out. There are now only four people at the table.

Leo and a young-looking dwarf who isn't even old enough to have a beard sat at the table. And what appears to be a halfling? Sylphiette and I walk over to the table. "So, what was all that about, Leo?" I ask. They appeared to be upset." Leo looks at me, takes a deep breath, and says, "It's nothing." They were simply seeking someone to take advantage of." "I'm really glad you came," he continues. Is this the individual you wanted to join as well?" I said, "Yes." Then Leo adds, "Take a seat."

Leo begins as soon as Sylphiette and I sit down. "We are all here because we want to be in a party." Everyone nods as he glances around. Then he says, "OK, so we are going to go around the table and tell the rest of us your skills and talents." Then he says, "I'll go first." My name is Leo, and I am a swordsman with the ranks of Intermediate water god and intermediate sword god."Leo sat down again after that. The dwarf then stands forward and introduces himself as "Hammer Anvil." Please don't laugh; it is my real name." He goes on. "I'm a warrior. "I use a hammer and a shield to fight."

Hammer keeps talking. "I can also help maintain equipment because I am good with my hands." And as long as a trap is mechanical, I should be able to disable it." The hammer takes a seat after that. I said, "You look like a dwarf, so why do you have long ears?" He responds quickly, "My mom is an elf." I gesture to Hammer, who takes a seat. "My name is Pit," the halfling replies cheerfully as he rises from his chair.I'm also a wizard. In all categories, I can cast Beginner Rank Attack magic. Accept Earth magic as being of Intermediate level. I'm also a scout, so I should be able to locate traps quite easy."

Pit sits in his seat. Sylphiette comes up uncomfortably, and as she prepares to make her introduction, Hammer notices she has green hair under her hood. "Oh my god, it's a Superd!" he exclaimed. Everyone in the guild panics and looks at Sylphiettet, causing her to shiver and tears to fill up in her eyes. I'm irritated that they're behaving this way. I punch my hand against the table. As a result, it splinters into a hundred separate pieces. Getting everyone's focus on myself. I raise her hood so that everyone may view her brow.

"See, no gem on the forehead!" I exclaim angrily. That is, she is neither a Superd nor a demon. If you're dumb enough to call her those names, you'll have to answer to me! "Does anyone have an issue with that?"Everyone in the guild returns to their work. "Do you guys have a problem with her?" I ask the gathering. The three young men shake their heads. Leo laughs and replies, "no problem from; get on with your interduction." Sylphiette gives me a nod. "I'm Sylphiette, and I'm a mage." With the exception of fire magick, I am Intermediate and all forms of attack magic."

Sylphiette goes on. "I'm also a detox and intermediate healer." I can also utilize incantation without chanting. Sylphiette takes a seat. When the other three boys heard what she said, their mouths dropped open. Pit said, "That should be impossible." Sylphiette used magic to create a little ball of water. Pit was taken aback. I get up to talk. "My name is Ryan Greyrat, and I am a advanced student at all three Sword schools. "I have a demon eye, which enables me to identify animals, humans, and monsters. I'm also quite skilled at magic." "Excellent work. So, are we going to form a party?" Everyone seemed to be in agreement.

Leo takes a stand. "Okay, now that we've chosen to be in the same party as one another, We need to determine who will be the leader. And what part will everyone  play?"I extend my hand. And then he grants me permission to talk. "As far as leaders go, I don't think we need one," I remark. "We should all vote on what we want." Everyone seemed to agree on this point. Leo says, Is there anything else you can think of about Ryan?

I'm going to add "I do have a few other ideas. If you want to hear  them, "Go ahead, Leo," I reply, continuing, "I figured me and Leo would be on the front lines." Hammer will defend the rear guard and deal with anything that gets past us. Pit and Sylphiette We'll be in charge of support and long-range attacks. Pit may also serve as our scout, and Sylphiette can oversee our meals if our tasks require us to stay overnight. Hammer is in charge of maintaining our equipment." Everyone agreed when I explained all of it. We only need to come up with a name now. After much deliberation, we decided on the name Ouroboros for our party name.

Walk up to the front desk and make it official. We registered our party without any difficulty. I'm excited On what are first mission will be together?
