I examine my long hair , I can't believe how much I missed having it , I had to cut it down later because I wasn't able to groom it. I see the clothes I wore , it was a white dress , just a simple design. full hand , it dropped till below my knees. I touch my wheatish skin, gazing into my amber eyes. I place my hand on the mirror , my reflection copies me. what If the girl on the other side was the girl who I was when I was seventeen. the sunshine is gone. I turn around and someone comes hopping into the room her red hair braided beautifully. she grinned at me her freckles dotting her face her hazel eyes shimmering with excitement. "Isabelle" she hugged me.The warmth of her hand around me comforts me. I can never be happier seeing her alive and well.
"Amber" I grin genuinely. I hug her again emotionally.Imagine seeing someone who you missed and cried over for months hugging you. tears slipped out of my eyes. only if she knew what was coming after her. only if she knew how much I missed her.She pulled away.
"this is weird you normally don't do hugs remember ?"
yes I don't , I usually avoid but I needed it. She doesn't know how happy I am seeing her bright smile. How happy I am seeing her alive after so many years. I take a deep breath, my hands shaking from excitement. I'm finally going to see Hannah and Raquel the girls who I grew up with like my own sisters. I'm going to see Miss.Bethany and most of all I'm going to see Jonathan. This time I'll make sure the only family I have doesn't die. I will make sure I will guard them.
"it's time for breakfast , let's go" Amber pulls my hand and guides me through the corridor. Trees , beautiful trees, these corridor walls the classrooms , they have no idea howmuch I missed this. the picture comes to my mind , it being crumbled to pieces , people screaming for their lives. screaming their lugs out. I get blocked by a few people on the way. Kyle , Ansel , Eliot and Jacob. Kyle runs his fingers through his dusty blonde hair. "oh, look who's here" kyle points at me. "Isabella looser who can't even hold a knife" he laughed. yes I remember back then I had a series of sleep paralysis attacks I could barely sleep in the morning and I was always scared. My hands used to tremble , I wasn't even able to hold a knife. "I know society can be cruel to you sometimes" he kicked my knee forcefully I fell down. These guys used to hate me and I never understood why.
"poor Isabella she can't even defend herself"
I know I can knock these bastards off if I wanted to , I know so many stunts and I saw them being feasted by the giants a while ago. But I stay put , I stay strong I don't want people to think I am invincible all of a sudden that would bring suspicion. I kept my face neutral , I could feel nothing no pain at all. I give him daring eyes.
"What do you think you are doing" Amber yelled.
"stay away from this kitty cat , you dont want your pretty face to be scarred do you ? It would be such a shame" Eliot warned. Eliot has Perl white hair and crystal blue eyes. I remembered him having ash blonde hair and brown eyes, what happened to his hair ?.
"you" I point at Eliot , getting up like I'm uninjured. "what happened to your ash blonde hair ?" I ask him fixing my eyes on him.
"ash blonde hair ? Eliot never had ash blonde hair, I think it's not just your strength but your memory is just the same" kyle laughed. I see Eliot's expression shift. He looks at me with shocked eyes. He knew something. "Ah , guys we can keep the bullying for another day we are running late for the class" Eliot pulled kyle's hand.
"Come on man , we have five minutes -"
"I said let's go" he yelled and pulled him away.
Me and Amber exchanged looks. Eliot used to be that quiet boy who never spoke anything , but he would still kick me till my stomach hurts. The boy I am seeing now looks like he has control over his friends something has changed.
We walk to the cafeteria , Hannah grins at me and waves at me to join them.
I look around to see if Jonathan is anywhere but I end up staring at Eliot who was staring back at me , I could feel his eyes on me as I take a seat next to Hannah. "I'll go bring food for both of us ,since your injured " Amber offers. I nodd. I look at my knees, he kicked me so hard that I lost blanace and fell, I could see blood patches on my knees. yes I am injured, but why doesn't it hurt so much? . If I was Isabelle from five years ago I should be crying. I should be doing kyles homework and help him cheat but here I am saved by a guy who loved bullying me.
"so...we have archery today right ?" I grin. Hannah looks surprised. It was never me who initiated the conversation before.
"ah well yea... " she smiled back. "you look surprisingly bright today ...what's gotten into you?" She asks me.
"nothing really ,I'm the Same" Lie, I'm the girl from five years later who misses these girls so much that she couldn't miss the chance of spending time with them.
"there you go" Amber comes back with the food.
"where is Raquel ?" I ask amber.
"oh she's gone to the grocery to buy food"
"you mean no.344 grocery ?"
"yea why ?"
"oh no" I get up from my table. I know what's going to happen, Raquel she is going to die. I have to save her , I have to run for it. it was the first time , the giants were able to break down the bars from the lab and make an entry towards our city people didn't know how to kill these giants so they would poison them or sedate them , use throwable prison traps and transport them into the lab where they will be sealed tight and experimented. They slowly started to take over. If the devine has chosen me , and saved me from killing myself in the future , it means I have something to do in the past. I will save everybody.
every single one of them. I tell myself and run. I go to my room and wear my black shirt and shorts and my boots. now I have to make a run to get a rope gun from the armery and sedators and sneak it out.
I walked inside the armery and locked the doors behind me and looked through everything, cold metal everywhere, swords , poison , guns : snipers , short guns whatever you name it it is there. I need a rope gun and poisoned blade. i could quickly save Raquel. I immidiatley take it and try to make an escape but I hide behind one of the shelves when light entered the room , the guard is here , he switches the lights on to see if someones there. I take a deep breath as he walks towards me. These boots have silencers to keep away from making a sound so that giants won't notice you. I jog towards the next shelf as he walks towards this shelf ,his view won't be on the other side. now I can make a run for it, I freeze as someone calls out my name. I got caught.
