Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Aftermath
Unable to find any words for what had just happened Nan'Ke sat in silence. It is true that he came out with the intention to graduate in becoming a man by picking up a random woman just for the sake of Life Points but the one he did it with, they had a real connection or at least he would like to believe so. He never open up to someone as he did her, on the first day no less. He told her about his orphanage days and she told him about her childhood, but after reading the letter now it felt as though it was all a fabrication on her part.
'Was anything she said even real, her mother's passing, her father isolation form her and her brother's bullying her. Was it true or was she just trying to gain my sympathy? Fuck!' Nan'Ke thought clearly feeling betrayed, the one time he opened up he was lied to and used. That's what he was feeling right now, 'l am a cheap piece of meat, talk about karma'. Referring to him coming here for a cheap piece instead he became one.
"You know your mature for your age, and handsome to? Why are you not taken?" Memories of their conversations last night appeared in his head, "I have never felt this way before" more and more words that she spoke replayed in his head as his heart ached. "Shall we leave this place together?" As the last memory was shown he then started thinking about her body language, which was not promiscuous however it toted the line between sexy and slutty, her lips, her eyes, neck, her touch and her taste, all these things he was experiencing again and again.
*Slap Slap*
Trying to wake himself up from the hole he got stuck in he slap his cheeks on both sides. With the pain came a bit of clarity, 'I shouldn't be like this, I shouldn't succumb to the first affection shown to me, I need to be better than that. As a future tycoon a lot of woman with throw themselves to me using all kinds of means, if a little interest is given to me and I behave like this I might not survive for long in this world. I need to steel myself.'
Giving himself a pep talk, which he really needed as he was 'down bad' for Xu Qin. Moving on with his thoughts from her, he remembered he was supposed to try and kill Mu Yen. He decided to test his theory out today. But first he return home form the hotel, now situated in his home in Jade community he powered on his laptop before uploading the program from the remote device to get better computing power.
It didn't take long for a connection to be established between his computer and Mu Yen phone, using the vulnerability the program exploited, Nan'Ke can determine his location, active his mic on the phone to listen in on his conversations and even record live audio etc. 'So he is located in Azure Villa, specifically Villa No.3….hmmm let's activate his phone mic to listen in on what is going on in his surroundings.
"You don't look so good brother, did a girl dump you?" The voice of a man was heard but Nan'Ke couldn't recognize who it belonged to but surmised it was Mu Yen older brother Mu Chen. "Nothing is wrong Mu Chen, just mind your own business" Mu Yen said in a irritated tone, as he was still distraught being stood up by 'Alicia'. "Well your business is your business but other's business are not yours?" Confused by what his brother was saying he replied "what do you mean?"
Mu Chen replied "'The Correction' is missing a member, his last know location was at the Taste Nightclub a place you like to frequent and was there the same night he went missing, also dealings with 'The Correction' doesn't happen in the open so what did you do, Brother?" Perplex as how his brother figured it out his tongue got stuck in his throat.
"How do you know, were you following me?" Mu Yen asked, "Why would I? You're no threat to me, but you were careless, you didn't know that all 'correction' members have trackers with them and the one you had met with removed his own after he spoke to you so what is it you spoke about?" Mu Chen spoke sternly. Caught between a rock and a hard place Mu Yen didn't know what to do.
On one hand speak the truth and then get accused of breaking an accord or stay silent which isn't the best option as he was already under suspicion, no benefit in this case only cons. Just then his phone rang from an unknown number, he was startled at first, but he picked it up so at least he could get some breathing room between him and his brother, but that didn't last long as the voice spoke.
"Put me on speaker" and Mu Yen did just that not out of fear or anything but a natural reaction as if the person he spoke to was above him and he had to act accordingly. "I received your present Mu Yen, however I played with it a bit too much and now it's broken" Nan'Ke said referring to the frozen body parts he had in a copper container in his guest room. As he was listening to their conversation the entire time he thought it be best to get ahead before falling behind at their schemes. He didn't want them to look at him without trepidation, he wanted them to fear him so they would think twice before coming after him. This was only a stop gap for now, but he was sure that before he starts college he would destroy the Mu's.
"Who are you?" The older of the two brothers spoke, "Relax Mu Chen, you aren't the focus right now so keep quiet for a bit, okay?" Shocked by the person on the phone response he was about to hit the famous 'do you know who I am?' line those young masters like to say. However before he got a word in edgewise Nan'Ke spoke again, "I'm really curious as to why you would send someone to kill me, seeing that we don't know each other. But it's too late for that now huh, well I will say this once and only once, don't fuck with me! I could of easily killed you last night, but I chose not to, why? Because I can, yes that right I'm the fucking grim reaper, all alone in this world only searching for those to joined me in the afterlife" Nan'Ke spoke menacingly, still a bit upset over last night fling, which is probably the best term to use now considering the contents of the letter, he was letting off some steam in the name of intimidation.
"Don't worry, I won't kill you right now but I will kill you, oh and if you bother to stop me Mu Chen, you will be dead to, remember death occurs when you least expects it, but I will always be the last thing you see when you die." After issuing his final threat he hung up the phone leaving the two brothers with different expression, one with a smirk and the other petrified. Mu Yen was scared, as the man he wanted to kill was someone he shouldn't have mess with, or so he believed. If he really knew the identity of Nan'Ke, he would have already killed him long ago.
With a smile Mu Chen asked "so who was that?" Then Mu Yen explained the situation dating back to the mall with Xiang Hua and even showing the photo he took of Nan'Ke.
In Jade community, Nan'Ke wasn't done with his performance as the grim reaper, as he laid out the 'death call' he had to make another one in order for his bases to be covered. He then rang a phone number, the one he retrieved from the dead mans phone, 'Ariel'. "Who is this and how did you get this number?" The woman said after answering the phone. "Relax Miss Ariel, I call to inform you about your car's extended warranty?" Dead silence was heard from the other end of the phone after Nan'Ke said his joke. "Tough crowd, well let's get serious, someone from your organization try to kill me, yes I know about you", 'only in name' he thought to himself before continuing, "Now, it's no fault of your own but I will ask for compensation, as if a dog bites a stranger he gets put down and the master has to pay the price." "What do you want, seeing that you are trying to be so opaque, why not just come out and say it" the woman asked not trying to be sly or anything of that nature as it was almost impossible for a nobody to gain her number. Nan'Ke then replied "Simple, I want you….oh hold on let me clarify as that may sound like I'm hitting on you. I want your organization to work with me, so are you ready to become a reaper?"

Mind_Medicine Chapter 17: Xu Qin should be seen again with more drama from her to come. Also Nan'ke is beginning to accept his Identity as someone with a certain power, would he become a villian....That depends on waht defines a villian for you but I will say he will the life he wants...eventually.
