Chapter 57: Life Must Go On [Illusionary Array]

[The second layer of the Great Mount Kunlun Mountain]

Just as Huang Ying Yue kept walking, two voices stopped her movement, and it made her heart tremble, but it was different from last time. This time, it was mixed with excitement.

The scene changed from the dark to the bright. When she tried to listen, she found herself in a shabby shelter near an abandoned old building in modern times, the place she used to stay with the man who raised her and saved her after her parents abandoned her.

"Yue, did you have enough sleep today? Are you hungry? Look! I bought you yummy food today." A soft voice sounded. The man appeared and touched her hair gently as he handed her a box of food.

When she tried to touch everything and wanted to find the source of the voice, the scene changed. She saw herself in a university uniform while a charming man stood in front of her and leaned closer.

"Yue, do you want to eat the noodles with me after we finish school, or do you want to go to the mountain and enjoy the sunset together?" A voice mixed with a trace of charm and tenderness echoed as the tall figure took the school bag from her and carried it on his wide and strong shoulder.

Huang Ying Yue's eyes turned blurred and wet. Tears slowly slipped from her eyes. She thought that she was dull and wasn't that kind of emotional person yet. The scene in front of her, the voice that she heard... Everything touched the deepest story in her heart that she tried to bury.

She missed them so much. There wasn't even a day that she didn't think of them, but she never let herself become immersed in sadness because life has to move on. She didn't talk or think, which doesn't mean that she felt nothing.

The scenery suddenly changed. Under the peach blossom trees, the petals scattered around, creating a floral and soft fragrance. Two equally attractive men stood in front of her and smiled.

Unfortunately, another man's face was blurred, but she could recognize him clearly in the daytime.

"Yue, come with me. It's almost raining; you'll be sick." One of the men in dirty clothes said this as he frowned tightly and looked at the gloomy sky.

"YueYue, come to my home. I have something to show you. My new painting! You'll undoubtedly love it." Another man said it enthusiastically.

Huang Ying Yue walked toward them step by step as she gently touched their faces. Her eyes filled with tenderness that she never showed to Xiao Yun.

She touched their faces back and forth as if to carve their figures deeply into her soul. Then she hugged them tightly, as if to feel their presence.

"I missed you both so much." She said that tears of sadness fell from her face. There was no smiling on her face now.

"Then come with us." They touched her hair gently with affection and embraced her with fondness.

"I missed you so much." She kept repeating the same sentence over and over again, as if she never tired of speaking this out.

The beautiful and mesmerizing petals scattered on three people liked a beautiful dream that no one dared to interrupt. The sound of the breeze blew, creating a pleasing melody to make the atmosphere more peaceful.

After a long time of silence, Huang Ying Yue's tears stopped falling.

"But…" Speaking of this, she paused and stepped back from the two figures.

"Yue, what's wrong with you?"

"YueYue, why? Don't you want to come with us? Hurry!"

Two men asked in doubt as they walked forward to her, wanting to pull her over and embrace her.

Huang Ying Yue stepped back again as she looked at the clear sky.

"I missed you... but I can't go back to the past. Life has to move on, no matter how unwilling I am. I remembered that one of you had disappeared from my life a long time ago. Maybe because I missed you so much that your figures have been carved deeply into my soul, I remembered everything about you both well."

"You both resembled them too much, almost like their clones yet... one thing that you both didn't have."

"Warm and real." She said it after a long time of silence.

"I can't feel any warm or real affection from you. I couldn't find any closeness or fondness in you when I hugged you. Nevertheless, thank you for showing up here so that I have the chance to see 'their' presence again."

"Unfortunately, I have to go. I can't sink myself into despair and sadness any longer. More than this, I don't want to be trapped in this beautiful dream until I can extract myself from it. I'm afraid that I couldn't leave this paradise that I've imagined countless times in my dreams." Huang Ying Yue smiled slowly as she walked to the other road, the opposite of this beautiful paradise, and ignored the voice that kept shouting her name.

"It was enough to see you guys. There was no meeting without goodbye. There was no separation without reuniting. One day, I believe... I'll be able to meet you guys again somewhere in this vast universe." Slowly, the girl's slender and tall figure disappeared from the place.

She remembered everything about them well, yet she had to accept the truth that she could no longer see or touch them. Though she didn't understand why she would see them here and what was happening now, nevertheless, she rather trusted her instincts and feelings.

The warm and mesmerizing scenery suddenly broke, as if the mirror had broken. Everything turned dark.
