Chapter 5: Chapter 4: Greeting the Guests

The definition of Good and Evil that I have provided obviously leaves a very large grey area but that is on purpose. It obviously touches nothing concerning actions taken for the self, solely for the self, and actions that do not affect others. That is because, realistically, these actions do not exist. Just as the butterfly effect is teased about in time travel, so does it affect our daily lives. An action taken for oneself will almost always be able to be defined as Good or Evil by the effects that it has on others down the line. Let's give an important hypothetical about our dear heroes. A hero responds to a dangerous apartment fire; inside are over 50 people who need to be saved. The first hero to respond is not one with a quirk well-suited to the situation. If this hero proceeds to do nothing on the site of the fire, waiting for another to arrive, then they have failed all 50 people inside and possibly doomed them to a gruesome death. Though by jumping in to save people, if he saves even just one life, the hero has done his job as soon as he has put his all into doing good to another. In this example, the hero who does nothing has committed an Evil action. Just as we were taught that bystanders who watch a bully are just as bad, this hero, who chose to wear the title of hero is no better than a villain. A quirk is not what made this man a hero or a villain, but his actions upon arrival to a dangerous event. A hero is no more than someone who has committed their life to serve, protect, and preserve the rights and safety of their people.

- Chapter 1 On Good and Evil: What we Have lost with the Dawn of Quirks

______________

The end of the ceremony saw the floodgates break open. Each member of the clan came to shake my hand before departing to the afterparty at the bottom of the stairs of the shrine. Once all the branch and main family members shook my hand, Ochaco launched herself into a hug that threatened to break my ribs.

"'Chaco your… hurting… me." I slapped her back. She climbed off of me and then gave me another hug with her actually standing this time, one that I was able to return.

"You look so beautiful." She gave me a big smile.

"Thanks 'Chaco" Next were Mom and Dad. They gave me big hugs and both definitely cried though they wouldn't admit it.

"It's nice to finally meet you" After they walked away, I was greeted by the Detnerat representative, It obviously wasn't Rikiya Yotsubashi himself, he wouldn't show his face here. We shook hands and I subtly took a small portion of his stamina to make him feel tired before the conversation could get any heated. I snapped open a small fan that I hid in my sleeve and placed it over the bottom half of my face. Don't forget Mom's 'battle' training.

"I would say the same to you sir but so far, nothing your company does gives me any reason to believe that you came to this event in good faith nor do I agree with the way your business operates." My voice was cold. I cared little for this company.

He started to sweat a little with my words, "And what actions may those be, Lady Nakata, we came to show our good intentions today."

"Where do I start… let's start with the red shoes. Are you aware that your company purposefully destroys shoe companies that create shoes for quirkless individuals in order to be the sole provider of shoes for that group of people, but in doing so, they have created only one shoe color that has become an identifier for the quirkless population equivalent to the Star of David from the 20th century. Your company has purposefully created a violent identifier for one of the most oppressed classes of people in the modern world.

"How about the fact that your company is the only known publisher for the heavily edited version of the Writings from the Meta-Liberation Army which has turned a book about equality for those with quirks into a book about quirk supremacy." Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Nezu rubbing his hands together like a little gremlin. "It took me a long time to find both copies as your company is very secretive about these books, but they can be found and the fact that Detnerat hasn't been completely destroyed, shows that someone in a very high place is hiding something." I tsk'd a few times to get my point across.

"Then, let's consider my writings- I made it very clear that I believe quirks to be tools. Tools that can be used for both good and evil just as any weapon can be. So, with the ideals of your company that you represent and the clash that they obviously have with my ideals, I have no idea why you are here."

His face was pale. "If you have nothing more to say, please leave. You are not welcome in the Nataka clan and all shares that the Nataka clan holds in Detnerat are already sold. Goodbye."

He rushed away, not even attempting to enter the lively party at the bottom of the stairs. The snap of closing the fan was so satisfying.

"That was a good show, young Lady Nataka. It seems I may have to make some changes at home as well." A well-dressed man and his daughter approached next.

"You must be the Yaoyorozu's, thank you so much for coming. I am glad you enjoyed the show. I assume this is the young heir?"

"Yes, this is my daughter, Momo Yaoyorozu."

"Please just call me Momo, your writings are phenomenal. When I found out they were written by someone my age, it absolutely blew me away. I can't wait to talk about them at UA."

"You're trying to go to UA as well?" A flash of realization flickered on her face as she registered what I said.

"Eh, too? Oh, how exciting, we must spend some time together to study. Maybe you can give me a few pointers. I assume you will be doing the Hero course since none of the other courses would make sense."

"That's correct, I'll introduce you to Uraraka Ochaco when we get down to the party, she is studying for the exam as well."

We said our farewells until later and the classic line finally came my way from the legend himself, Principal Nezu.

"Am I a mouse? A dog? Or a bear?" Who cares, I'm the Principal of UA, Principal Nezu. It's wonderful to meet you, young Lady Nataka. We look forward to your visit to UA." We shook hands and he trotted away.

"HAHAHA Young Lady, it's wonderful to meet you, I see bright things in your future if you are joining the hero course." I couldn't even get a word in with All Might before he jumped away.

The other heroes had gone to the party without saying anything except for Mirko who came representing more than just one of the top 10.

"It's good to see you again Lady Usagiyama, Thanks to your family, getting my book published and the public ad development was very quick and easy."

"Well, the clans stick together brat. I just focus on fighting crime and stuff. My family just loves to use you as an example of a 'proper lady' so best believe that come internships you are coming to me. I am SO going to take it out on you, brat, and it'll be for a whole week!"

She gave me a Cheshire grin (which I thought was a cat thing). I knew she was a good hero so I couldn't turn her down but the shiver going up my spine made the aggressive handshake even worse. She gave me a teasing laugh before we both walked to the party.
