Next Day, Shrek Academy Discussion Room
" So, Who am I fighting today? " Nero nonchantly asked Wu Zhangkong while he feasted on a choclate bar.
Wu Zhangkong's lips twitched slightly at Nero's non-caring attitude but he couldn't blame him after all it would be a miracle if someone could force even his Spirit Ring Abilities.
After going through the document in his hand Wu Zhangkong replied, " Originally you were supposed to fight the princess of Dai Family but it seems like at the last moment your opponent was replaced with a fresh substitute of Monster Academy. "
Focusing his gaze on Wu Zhangkong Nero sighed and asked, " And, Let me guess the guy is probably at the age limit of this participation and his Rank is probably in Soul Emperor region, Right? "
Wu Zhangkong nodded indicating that Nero's prediction was spot on. Nero was already half expecting this given his recent show.
The reason why Nero faced such importance from everywhere since the very beginning unlike Tang Wulin in original timeline was because of the difference in growth span.
While it was true that Tang Wulin eventually outnatched everyone in original timeline but there was always someone or something to downplay Tang Wulin's immense growth like Long Yue during Continental Championship or his slow growth of spirit rank.
On the other hand that wasn't the case with Nero, his combat power never stopped outmatching those far beyond his Rank and even his Spirit Rank growth rank was something never seen before resulting in current situation where every force puts him in such high importance.
Although Nero could hide his power and play it safe but firstly it wasn't his personality to hide his true self and secondly he had problems and variables far greater than the so called interests of Mainland Forces.
" Contestant no. 666, Please Appear on stage " the announcement rang out in the discussion room.
Throwing the wrapper of choclate into the dustbin, Nero commented, " Well, that's my cue " and headed towards the arena.
On his way to the Arena Nero called Ren using their link.
" So, Were you able to get anything from the Green Skeleton's Headquarters? " Nero asked Ren
" No, there is no record of how the leader of this gang was contacted by these cult or whatever. My best guess is that they contacted this Gang onky for the experiment of whatever that Mecha was " Ren voice came from the other end.
" Well, we can't do anything else. Look around a bit until you are bored enough to cone here " Nero replied
" Hey! What do you..." before Ren could finish his sentence Nero disconnected the link.

" Ladies and Gentlemen, Please Welcome contestant 666 from Shrek Academy, Nero " a beautiful plump 25+ year old lady in enchanting clothes announced followed up by waves of cheer and exclaimation.
From the left gate of the Arena Nero emerged and made his way to the Ring.
" And, now welcome our new substitute from Monster Academy, Contestant no. 101, Lin khuen " immediately after tha hostess announcement a black haired slightly dark skinned man wearing an oni mask walked out of the right gate of the Arena.{ Picture in comments}
Nero narrowed his eyes at Lin Khuen's Oni Mask. To others it might seem like a fashionable accesory but through his energy sensing vision Nero could see that there was dense red and purple energy held inside the mask.
' Status ' Nero inwardly thought and a translucent blue window appeared in front of Nero.

' So, that mask is acting like a prison for the consciousness of his Bloodthirsty spirit soul but does the Royal Family that the more you supress something, the harder it will strike back. It might seem like the Spirit Soul's consciousness is under control but in reality it might just be waiting for the right moment ' Nero's ongoing thoughts were interrupted by the hostess countdown.
" Begin," as soon as the hostess announced Lin Khuen didn't immediately summon his Martial Soul but first closed in on Nero and threw a fast punch.
Side stepping Nero avoided the punch while simultaneously catching Lin Khuen's wrist. Lin Khuen didn't panic upon this but instead swiftly threw a concentrated power chop towards Nero's neck while also execution a viper kick at Nero's knee.
In response to Lin Khuen's dual attack Nero employed his other hand to catch Lin Khuen's viper kick and using his left leg to block the hand chop.
" Swoosh! " a wave of air exploded outwards as Nero's fist and leg contacted with Lin Khuen's. Going for the counterattack Nero jumped up in a flash and dropped a spinning lunar kick towards Lin Khuen's head.
Switching from the hand-to-hand combat, Lin Khuen summoned his Martial soul Blood reaper a golden bladed-red shiny grip scythe connected with a golden sharp small wheel with a long golden chain. { Picture in comments}
Grabbing the handle of Scythe Lin Khuen swung it towards Nero's Leg while swinging the other smaller wheel part towards Nero's head.
" Clang!, " a metallic clang rang out as the scythe was blocked by barrier of mirage blades appearing before Nero's legs and the smaller wheel was blocked by Nero using Yamato's sheath.
Immediately after intercepting Lin Khuen's surprise attack Nero junped using the mirage blade barrier as support and unsheathed Yamato in a flash sending a single fast and sharp slash towards Lin Khuen's who was sent slithering back as he used his Blood Reaper to block the slash.
" Looking at your Oni mask and simple attire, I thought you would be a warrior type you know adhering to the rules and that. So, the assassin type attack was definitely a surprise" looking at Lin Khuen Nero commented out with a small smirk.
" What matters is the victory not the means to achieve it," Lin Khuen stabilized himself and said in a very monotonous and emotionless tone.
" If my stupid brother was here then he would probably continue to mock you, " stopping Nero disappeared from his place.
" But, I prefer replying with my actions " Nero's continuation rang out behind Lin Khuen as a sharp swipe from Yamato made its way to Lin Khuen's neck who at the last moment was able to raise his Blood Reaper to defend himself.
Not giving Lin Khuen a chance to breathe Nero slashed out numerous fast consecutive slash followed by a teleport behind Lin Khuen again and finsihing up with a straight lunge attack at Lin Khuen's spinal cord.
Despite facing Nero's attacks head on with his body Lin Khuen's didn't flinch even a bit and instead backed off a bit and started rotating at his place with his Blood Reaper to create something akin to a scythe edged tornado heading towards Nero.
' I see that's why they especially sent him to fight me, a normal soul master would avoid my attacks and instead be on guard due to how sharp and fast they are but Lin Khuen's Bloodthirsty spirit soul subtly affects him to not feel any pain and just keeps on attacking regardless of the consequences and Since this is a competition according to them either I would lose to Lin Khuen's Berserkness or I would be disqualified for giving Lin Khuen grave injuries. Seems like I would have to show them what a True Demon looks like but first lets bring out this sleeping consciousness ' coming out of his thoughts Nero took a standard sword drawing stance.
In the next second to the observers it seemed like a lot of phantoms flickered around Nero before a massive tornado composed of blue enegy slash engulfed Lin Khuen's scythe tornado attack.
As the afternath of Nero's attack disappeared what appeared in front of everyone was Lin Khuen with many injuries and most importantly cracks in his mask.
The Teacher and Dean of Monster Academy along with the advisor of Star Luo military stood up in shock as soon as they saw the crack in Lin Khuen's mask.
*Few seconds before*
Taking on the classic sword drawing stance Nero coated Yamato with Law of seperation and at the critical moment of slashing, he summoned countless Dopplagangers with sole intent of sending out a slash to seperate the sealing of Lin Khuen's Oni mask.
* Back to present*
Gazing at the motionless Lin Khuen Nero using slight bloodline pressure spoke, " Come out and show Yourself "
After a few seconds of silence red blood vessels potruted out of Lin Khuen's body, his eyes took drowned in a dark blood red color miasma followed by six successive soul ring flashing which amplified the red aura and pressure around Lin Khuen.
Contrary to the previous expert handling of Blood Reaper now Lin Khuen carried it like a savage.
Setting his sights on Nero Lin Khuen opened his mouth and let out a huge roar.
" Roarrrrrr"
