Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Car Trip

With a statue in his room, the whole night. Joaquin who was used to being alert was unable to sleep. Hence, under his beautiful purple eyes were two big black bags. Joaquin gritted his teeth, almost grinding them into dust. He turned to watch the culprit with dim eyes that overflowed with hatred.

"Are you here to protect me?" Joaquin asked lowly, he watched as the stoic bodyguard of his, nodded slowly.

"So, can you explain this?" Joaquin pointed under his eyes and Calyx watched him in confusion.

"What has caused that, Young Master?" Calyx was puzzled and a frown slowly formed on his lips. "I watched you the entire night but I don't see anyone come in the room."

Joaquin's eyes twitched as he observed the flawless smooth skin of his bodyguard with an ache in his teeth, "That's the point!" He thundered.

Calyx blinked, "Oh?"

"You cause it!" Joaquin roared.

"How so Young Master?" Calyx's voice was low. "I clearly remembered watching Young Master without making any moves."

Joaquin rolled his eyes, "You are helpless."

"No, Young Master," Calyx shook his head, "I know how to fight."

Joaquin's eyes twitched, "Out! Get out!" He pointed at the door, anger blazing in his eyes.

Calyx bowed, "As Young Master commands." He exited the room, leaving the fuming Joaquin.

Joaquin's eyes rolled in anger, as he took deep breaths to calm him.

"Deep breaths," Joaquin inhaled deeply. "Get that annoying man out of your head."

Joaquin calmed himself, "Good. Good."

The bell in his room rang. Looking at the bell above his bed, Joaquin walked over to the telephone on the small cupboard.

Picking it up, his father's voice entered his ears.

"Joaquin, don't forget that you have to go to Mystic Isle today."

"Yes father, I didn't forget," Joaquin said with annoyance lacing his every word. However, only he knew that he had forgotten. With a slight cough, he listened to his father's roar over the phone.

"I told you to call me boss!" His voice thundered. Joaquin groaned and took the phone away from his ears.

"Okay old man, relax," Joaquin muttered.

His father asked, "It seems like you don't understand Japanese enough, been overseas for too long?"

Joaquin scoffed, "I'm happy to go back."

"Whatever!" His father roared, "Just be at the gates by nine a.m.!" He then hung up.

Joaquin rolled his eyes, "Rude." He mumbled.

His eyes landed on his phone that lay innocently on his bed. Picking it up, Joaquin looked at the time.

"Calling me at eight twenty for nine," Joaquin grinned sarcastically. "What a brilliant father I have."

Joaquin threw his phone on the bed before entering the connected bathroom.

Stripping off his clothing, he entered the shower. Under the hot water, his body relaxed as he rocked his head back with his palm holding the wall. The sod of the soap was quickly rinsed off his skin. Combing his wet hair with his fingers, Joaquin yawned and exited the shower.

With his excellent body exposed, he wrapped the white towel around his waist before he brushed his teeth and reentered his bedroom. Then he paused, slowly turning to watch the male who stood at the bathroom door.

"How long did you stand there?" Joaquin inquired, his purple eyes sharp with alertness as he looked at the bodyguard.

Calyx looked at him motionlessly, "Long enough to know that I am bigger than you."

Joaquin's lips twitched, and in one swift movement, he held Calyx in a chokehold.

"I dare you to repeat that!" He roared. Calyx calmly removed his hands, Joaquin blinked in shock, I… I clearly used all my strength! How could he?!

Calyx turned to face Joaquin, his hand still holding Joaquin's. "I am clearly bigger than you," he whispered calmly, his sapphire blue eyes looking into Joaquin's deep lilac eyes.

Joaquin snorted, "How I hate you right now."

Calyx blinked, "But I am only here to protect Young Master."

Joaquin's lips twitched, "I don't need protecting!" He fumed.

Calyx nodded, "Oh… so why can't you get out of my grip?"

Joaquin tried his best to move his wrist out of Calyx's hand but even if he tried, he couldn't get it out. With a dark face, Joaquin scoffed, "You can get fired for this!" He thundered, his cheeks slowly turning pink from shame and his refusal to accept defeat from his own underling.

"Will Young Master fire me?" Calyx walked up to Joaquin who was confused so he backed away slowly, his hand was still in Calyx's tight grip which made Joaquin grind his teeth in anger with his back hitting the wall near the bathroom door. Joaquin leaned away from Calyx… no he didn't lean, he tried to lean away from Calyx but failed as the male just pushed his knee between Joaquin's legs.

"I dare you!" Joaquin roared angrily.

Calyx hummed, "Will Young Master fire me?" He asked, his head leaning into Joaquin's neck as he tilted his head to allow his lips to graze Joaquin's ears slowly. His sapphire eyes darkened watching as Joaquin's ears darkened with a lovely red.

"I will not!" Joaquin stated angrily, "Now release me!"

Calyx nodded, and his grip on Joaquin's wrist loosened and he backed away.

"Young Master, the boss has told you to meet him at the gate by nine." Calyx informed, "So, you need to get dressed."

Joaquin waved him off, "Whatever. Just get my bags and suitcase."

"Yes Young Master," Calyx's sapphire blue eyes deepened as they watched Joaquin's pale back.

He then lowered his head and walked away. Joaquin, however, couldn't shallow this insult to his pride. He wanted revenge! Oh, boy how bad he wanted it. Joaquin stood with his face coloured red.

"I will never forgive that brat!" Joaquin muttered.

Dressed in a white turtle neck shirt and black jeans with his denim blue jacket wrapped around his shoulders, Joaquin exited his room with his sunglasses on his eyes.

Calyx stood at the door, "Young Master?"

Joaquin looked at him with a fleeting glance, "Get my suitcases. Let's go."

Calyx nodded, "Yes Young Master."

"And that embarrassment that you cause me today!" Joaquin glared at him, "I will remember it!"

Calyx looked at him before he bowed, "Okay, Young Master."

"Good!" Joaquin snorted and walked away. "Keep up!"

"Yes, Young Master." Calyx's low voice came from behind him.
