Chapter 9: A Worrying Voice

We walk out of the dungeon while carrying our injured companions. My eyes burn as flashes of lights shine upon them.

"Oh, great, it's the news reporters," Piro announces. "Can we know what happened inside the dungeon? What took you all so long!" A woman in the crowd shouts.

"First, we need some medical attention for our injured comrades!" Travis yells. "My dear Marianne, why would you go into such a dangerous place?" Two women in the crowd say, and so Marianne runs towards them, hugging them in her arms.

"Mom, I've missed you. It was so scary when those guys attacked us." Marianne says while in tears. "Well, that's why you shouldn't have entered." One mother says.

"Excuse me, miss, but Marianne will most likely have to come back to the guild with us for questioning. Apparently, she was pushed into the dungeon. We will call you when this is all settled." Travis explains as paramedics arrive, taking our injured members. Shortly after that, a limo arrives with the guild leader inside, signaling us to come in.

We settle into the seats, and the driver takes off. "So, why did you all complete the dungeon? I made it clear you were supposed to retrieve the missing team and get out of there." The guild master angrily asks.

"It was an abnormal dungeon when we entered. There was no way out until we finished dealing with the monsters. A mutant minotaur is what dealt such injuries to our parties." Piro explains.

"That makes sense, but why is this girl here? She should be getting a scolding by her parents right now. For entering the place." The guild master exclaims.

"Well, it turns out some girls at her school pushed her into the portal, and so we thought we'd bring her along and tell you what happened." Travis says.

"Then I'll have to report it to the police. When we get back to the guild, you three get some rest, and I will bring the girl to my office to get this all settled. I would like to congratulate your teams by promoting you all to B rank, but it'll have to wait. Once jason is out of the hospital, we'll have a funeral for your fallen members, Travis." Guild master announces as we arrive at the guild. I and the others rest in spare rooms for the day waiting on news about the others.

"Oue, wake up," I hear as my door is being banged

"What is it?" I ask."They say Julian can be relied from the hospital tomorrow. Let's go visit her. Also, the two girls who pushed Marianne into the dungeon have been taken into custody." Piro says, and so we set out to the hospital.

"I was wondering why didn't Master Gemini didn't send Oliver and his team to find the missing group?" I ask Piro.

"She's too close to him. Ever since she took Oliver in, she usually only sends him on missions she knows he'll come out from. She may even know the truth about him. There's a popular theory with some guild members.

It's theorized in the guild that his parents are an android and a lizard man, but that's because we don't have anything better to do with our time. Usually, on these occasions, the guilds second in command would go retrive them, but hes on vacation now." Piro explains as we pull up to the hospital.

We enter the room where Julian is held. "Hey, how have you been?" I ask Julian. "The doctors said I'll be cleared to leave tomorrow, but I feel like shit having to rely on you all to take care of the minotaur." Julian responds.

"You did the best you could do. Don't worry about us." I say,"Frank's worse than I am. You two should go see him while I and Jason will be realesed from the hospital this week. Frank's in a coma. We dont know if he'll get better, and you also may want to get checked up, Nux. You've been sweating like crazy." Julian says, so we leave to visit Frank on the next floor.

(I don't need to be seen. I'm probably just sick, and that's what's causing this headache and sweating.) I think to myself while we enter Frank's room. "They say he hit a tree when the minotaur sent him flying, and he's been in a coma since. Days, weeks, even months, he may be in the coma, so we're going to save money to pay for an A rank healer to come and try to get him out of it." We stay by Frank's side for a bit before departing. We agree to see each other around noon to accompany Julian as she'll be released.

I enter our house after the long day. A raspy voice enters my head. (Finally, a whole week without that nuisance around me.) I stop for a minute after hering that odd voice. "Where have you been? You've been gone forever!" Wiggly yells. "I'm sorry, man, we were stuck inside the dungeon, and Julian got injured." I replied.

"Oh no, will she be alright? She's the one that brings food even though we don't need to eat." Wiggly asks (That is odd ever since i came here. I haven't really required food. I just craved it.) "Yes, she should be back someday this week." I answered. I turn on the TV to drown out the massive headache I've had and lie down for the night.

As I drift off to sleep, I hear that odd malicious voice again. "Finally, that woman is gone, and this body is asleep so I don't have to worry about my safety anymore. I can take control for once." The voice says while chuckling.
