Chapter 12: New Friend 2

"Yeah, she used to date my best friend. They were together for two years. Three days ago, she suddenly said she wanted to break up because she found a rich boyfriend," Kevin continued. "My friend was about to propose to her. He loved her so much that he begged her to stay, but she and her friend made fun of him for being poor. He couldn't eat or sleep for two days."

Ricky was shocked to hear these words.

"I planned to move in two days ago, but my friend's condition is so bad that I had to stay with him and comfort him." Kevin said angrily.

"Wait, the story doesn't make sense. She and her friends told me that her new boyfriend is abusive and doesn't let her see anyone," Ricky replied.

"Abusive? Seriously? Wait, are you her new boyfriend?" Kevin asked. Kevin had always done everything to make her happy and support her dreams. Jenny lied that I was abusive. Unbelievable.

"Yeah, but..." Ricky dont know what to say.

Kevin picked up his phone and dialed Jenny's number, but it wasn't Jenny who answered.

Jenny was about to say something, but Ricky ended the call.

"Jenny, did Ricky agree? When will you two get engaged?" Sophia inquired.

"No, he didn't. He said he needs more time," Jenny replied with frustration.

"What? I think he's trying to avoid you. You can't let that happen," Sophia said.

"Yeah, I know," Jenny replied. She started to think about how to make Ricky accept her proposal.

Ring... Ring...

"Who's calling? Is it Ricky again?" Sophia asked with excitement.

"Nope, it's Kevin," Jenny replied, annoyed.

Both of them were angry at Ricky for not answering Jenny. Now, Kevin wants to bother them by asking for more money.

"Why is he calling? Is he asking about the money? Let me talk to him," Sophia said, taking the phone from Jenny's hand.

She wants to let out her frustration on Kevin.

"You poor loser. Why did you even call Jenny? She broke up with you and doesn't want to talk to you. Were you trying to beg her to come back? Don't get your hopes up. She's already dating someone better than you. Don't worry we will send you money by the end of the month. " Sophia hung up.

"I never thought Jenny and Sophia were bad people. They're even trying to pay your friend to stay quiet," Ricky said angrily.

"Wow, you understood it like that. Well, it's fine by me," Kevin thought.

"I didn't know they offered money to my friend either. Now do you see what kind of people they are?" Kevin asked.

"Yeah, it's a good thing I found out about her. Wait, whose phone is this?" Ricky asked.

"This is my friend's phone. I don't want Jenny to call him and make fun of him again," Kevin said. "So, how did you meet Jenny? Do you also know Sophia?"

"Yeah, I know Sophia. I met Jenny in Pearl Town a week ago. We both attended a show. We started drinking together. She said her boyfriend is abusive and doesn't want her talking to other guys. I felt sorry for her and comforted to her. Suddenly, I started feeling dizzy. When I woke up, I saw Jenny sleeping next to me. Sophia blamed me and said I had to take responsibility because I slept with Jenny. She also said if I didn't, her boyfriend would hurt her. I had no choice," Ricky explained.

Hearing Ricky's words made Kevin feel bad. He wasn't the only victim; Ricky was a victim, too. This wasn't the Jenny he loved. He started to wonder if Jenny ever loved him.

Ricky was angry because Jenny and her friends had tricked him.

"Let's go get some drinks," Kevin suggested.

"I know a place. Let's go," Ricky stood up.
