Chapter 6: Volume 1 - Chapter 6: The God System

Aaron slowly approached the wolf den. There were no wolves at the entrance, only a small amount of scattered meat and a high amount of blood on the ground. The wolves had probably consumed who knows how many humans, goblins, and thorn mice.

In addition to being large and powerful, Lork Wolves were also resistant to cold. Thanks to the special magic in their bloodline, the dens they created were always cold. With each step Aaron took, he could feel the cold penetrating his skin, but his partially high endurance prevented the cold from causing him much harm. From this, he could deduce that the highest-ranked wolves inside the den were at the end of the F rank.

Before it was too late, Aaron entered a room and noticed that it had been dug downward. He proceeded towards the excavated area. After about 30 seconds, he realized that an entire pack of wolves was inside. Looking at the scene, Aaron could tell that there were more than 150 Lork Wolves, no matter where he looked. He decided to retreat and come up with a plan. It was impossible for him to fight against 150 wolves with his current stats. If the number of wolves were around 40 or 50, he could push forward and defeat them all, easily gaining their experience.

But that was not the case in a fight like that.

As he ascended from the excavated cave, Aaron noticed a wolf lying in the corner and approached it slowly. Driven by the desire to claim his first kill, something he believed no one had accomplished against a Lork Wolf before, Aaron swiftly plunged the small dagger he had retrieved from his father into the wolf's throat. In an instant, a system notification appeared:

"Aaron Light Corbyn, you have achieved the ''Young Lork Wolf Slayer'' achievement. All stats +3." Delighted by the additional stat points he had gained, Aaron emerged from the den. He had two things to do now. First, he needed to reach a safe area and acquire adhesive rope and flammable powder. Second, he had to place them at the location where he intended to set up the trap.

With the plan formed in his mind, Aaron quickly opened his map and began scanning for nearby safe zones. After approximately 30 seconds, he spotted a safe house just 5 minutes away. Having found the safe zone, there was only one natural course of action for Aaron: to activate his plan swiftly. If he stayed here any longer, the sleeping wolves would awaken and discover the dead wolf, triggering their response and leaving him no time to execute his plan.

Of course, knowing this very well, he quickly dashed forward and arrived at the safe zone in a short time. The door to the safe zone was open, which meant either someone was inside or someone had left without closing the door properly.

Aaron quietly entered through the door, and voices could be heard from upstairs. "How many idiots are up there? They're literally having a party," he thought. He was so annoyed by the excessive noise coming from upstairs that his nerves were on edge. However, not knowing who those people were, he proceeded cautiously and started climbing the stairs.

As Aaron carefully ascended the stairs, one wooden step he stepped on suddenly made a loud creaking sound, followed by an abrupt silence from above.

"Fool! Why aren't you being more careful, you idiot!" he scolded himself in frustration.

Aaron had abandoned slow movement and, using his transation ability, increased his speed threefold. Suddenly, he found himself in the room.

Everyone in the room was astonished. Armed individuals looked at Aaron in a strange manner. The atmosphere in the room had become so tense that for about 5 seconds, no one moved or made a sound. Finally, a young boy among them, realizing that the person in front of them was much stronger than them, started speaking to Aaron:

"May we know who you are?" Aaron had decided to answer their question, but he noticed that no one had lowered their weapons or sheathed them. This greatly angered him.

With furrowed eyebrows, Aaron spoke to the young boy in a harsh voice, "First, you need to tell me who you are, kid. And tell your men to lower their weapons, or I'll separate their hands from their bodies." It was the first time in about 6 days, since the battle with the Supreme Dragon, that he had become angry.

The child who spoke to Aaron was quite scared by his words, and he signaled to the people around him to lower their weapons.

"Please forgive our rudeness. We've been through a lot in the past 5.5 days, so we're a bit apprehensive," the child added.

Aaron glanced around the room upon hearing the child's words and noticed the cigarette packs and alcohol bottles scattered around. He remarked, "I can see that consuming alcohol and smoking must have worn you out. You've been through quite a lot, indeed."

Unable to tolerate his harsh words any longer, a member of the group suddenly shouted and drew his weapon, lunging at Aaron.

In that instant, Aaron shifted his God's Eyes ability from its passive appearance and activated its seal. It was one of the methods of using God's Eyes.

With a single swift movement, Aaron dodged the attacker's strike and swiftly unsheathed his sword, severing the man's hands from his wrists.

The entire crowd in the room had fallen to the ground in fear, but it was nothing new to Aaron. He despised anyone who could be considered wicked, and he believed that exerting pressure on the weak or causing harm to them, as well as taking a life, were unforgivable sins. Even though he didn't believe in God in his previous life, he called himself a "sinner" because of this reason.

In his previous life, he had mercilessly killed numerous criminal gangs with his own hands. He had torn apart the limbs of those who mistreated beggars and hanged people who belittled others from buildings. He had even killed those who engaged in rape and aggression through the media, using his own hands. Although he had used his power to protect humanity, he had single-handedly wiped out a significant group of people.

"I told you. If you touch your weapons, I will sever your hands from your bodies," Aaron said. He despised wicked individuals, but there was another group he detested: the drunkards. Most drunkards had given up on their lives and become parasites clinging to society, and the man whose wrists he had slashed had already violated two of Aaron's principles.

"Please, don't kill us, sir. We beg you!" the child who had spoken to Aaron earlier said.

"I didn't come here to kill you in the first place. You provoked yourselves," Aaron replied.

"What can we do for you to forgive us?" the child asked, with fearful eyes and a trembling voice.

"You may remain silent."

"Understood, please forgive us."

"I won't take your lives, don't worry. I only treat wicked people badly. I won't beat up a few drunkards and take their lives. Stand in the corner of the room, and once I'm done, I'll leave," Aaron said, adding a touch of sarcasm.

Of course, he wasn't taking the life of every drunkard he encountered, but it was certain that he despised them. He indulged in drinking himself, to the point of being considered a drunkard, but he never got intoxicated. Instead of idling away like a parasite, he chose to help humanity. There was a distinct difference between the two.

Every person in the room understood his words and the underlying meanings. If they approached him in any way, they would find themselves dead.

Aaron mentally said, "Market," and a window opened in front of him. He then entered the monster and mining sections of the market and purchased Sticky String and Explosive Powder. He also bought a high-caffeine coffee for a bit of energy before closing the market.

After closing the market, the items he had acquired appeared in his hands, and he took them and left the room. However, before descending to the lower floor:

"Next time, don't act against someone without understanding the extent of their power. If today, instead of me, there had been a wicked person in my place, all of you could have been dead," he said and descended to the lower floor, leaving the building. Those people in the room would never witness Aaron's story in the future because people with such levels of foolishness could never survive.

Now there was only one thing left to do today. Aaron would set up a trap using sticky tape, explosive powder, and a triggering mechanism, and then wait for one of the Lork Wolves to trigger the trap. After that, let the experiment begin.

Aaron quickly left the vicinity of the building and ran towards the den of the wolves. Within 5 minutes, he reached the wolf den and immediately took out the sticky tape and explosive powder from his bag. He started spreading the explosive powder everywhere.

After spreading the explosive powder, Aaron opened the package of sticky tape and began weaving nets with it, attaching them to the ground, ceiling, and walls. His goal was for the saliva of the Lork Wolves to come into contact with the explosive powder and for the burning effect to transfer to the sticky tape, amplifying the explosion. This way, the Lork Wolves, who were not resistant to heat, would become weakened, unable to dig anywhere. Then, the entrance to the den would be blocked due to the explosion, and the toxic smoke inside would seal the fate of the wolves.

After setting up the nets in specific locations, Aaron took the body of the wolf he had previously killed and placed it at the furthest point behind the nets and powder. Then, with the loudest voice he could muster, he shouted:

"FOOD TIIIME!"

After the loud noises, sounds suddenly started emanating from the depths of the den. The wolves, with their heightened hearing senses, had been awakened by the noise and were making their way towards the exit of the den. Aaron, realizing this, swiftly threw himself outside.

Once he had climbed on top of a building, he began carefully observing the den.

Approximately half a minute later, a booming explosion occurred, and the plan was executed. The entrance to the den was completely sealed off, blocking any exit from inside. Then, a system notification appeared:

"Congratulations, Aaron Light Corbyn. You have acquired the active ability 'Trap Detection'." Aaron was overjoyed, so much so that his hair turned blonde. He had planned to acquire this ability later, but he hadn't expected that this event would grant it to him. Thanks to this ability, his plans were slightly accelerated.

Immediately after the event, system notifications began to appear:

"Young Lork Wolf killed."

"Young Lork Wolf killed."

"Young Lork Wolf killed."

"Young Lork Wolf killed."

"Young Lork Wolf killed."

"Young Lork Wolf killed."

One by one, all the Lork Wolves were being killed, and experience points were raining down on Aaron from the sky.

"You have leveled up."

"You have leveled up."

Aaron had jumped two levels in quick succession, and this made him quite happy. Thanks to the number of traps and Lork Wolves, he had expected to level up at least 15 times, which was a significant amount of experience.

Then, another system notification appeared, but he neither rejoiced nor lamented upon seeing it because this notification had given him something he didn't know when he would acquire: the "God System."

'The God System!' he thought fiercely within his mind.

"Congratulations, Aaron Light Corbyn, you have surpassed the initial level limit. By reaching level 25, you have unlocked the ability called the God System. As a reward for unlocking your first level limit, you will receive a 5% refund of the unit points you had in your previous life."

He stood there, quite bewildered. He was happy, too. A new ability had been unlocked, and on top of that, he had managed to reclaim a small portion of what he had previously possessed. No one could interfere with his joy. While experience points were flowing in from behind, unit points were literally raining down upon him.

Aaron quietly expressed his gratitude, looking up at the sky, and then he began to patiently wait for the system to load.

"The system is loading..."
